Coming from the Note 2 and Note 3 this Note 7 is a Definitely upgrade. The phone scans for battery draining and viruses. The phone feels better to text with the compact size. The controls are easier to use and the added storage is a big plus. It is Sad the phone had such bad battery problems

THE best phone in the world

I was really excited to get my original release day Note 7, and despite the controversy surrounding the defective batteries, it didn't let me down. I received my replacement phone the first day it was available as well, but what I'm writing here applies equally to both phones.
First, it's amazing that Samsung packed so much power and convenience into such a small form factor. I owned a Note 3 for three years, and had Samsung never introduced a Note with expandable storage, I'd probably still have it today. The screen is incredibly clear for videos, web surfing, and more mundane uses, and the phone itself responds instantly. The camera has replaced both my camera and video camera - maybe I'm just old now, but I really don't need any better resolution than this phone delivers. Call quality is great both in terms of clarity and signal strength (I have Sprint, so your mileage may vary).
As much as I held my nose because of the lack of a removable battery, similar to my wife's S7 Edge reviewed earlier, I don't miss it. I use my phone a bit more vigorously than she does, it'll still go from 100% at 6 a.m. to 50% at 9 p.m. Because of its Qi fast charging capability, I never have to worry about losing power. It took me two full days (as a test) to get it down to 20%, and after 2-1/2 hours on the Samsung fast charge dock (also reviewed), it was back to 100%. Despite the "exploding batteries" in the original batch of Note 7s, mine never got even warm - my new one stays cool as well.
Final kudo to Samsung and Best Buy on my recall replacement experience. Although there was lots of uncertainty about entering your email into Best Buy's site vs. store maintained waiting lists, etc., I went to my local Best Buy after work on September 21, transferred my account to the new phone, connected the two phones to transfer data via the SmartSwitch utility, and was out of the store in less than an hour. The battery problems were not Samsung's finest moment, but they definitely stood by their product. Will look forward to my Note 9 or 10 in 2-3 years, but for now, am really enjoying the current "world champion."

Great phone. S pen is awesome. Yes Samsung has had issues with a battery Recall but i never once had extreme heat issues. I choose not to use fast charging option or wireless charging and my phone charges very quickly and lasts all day. Love this phone. Hope they got their battery issues resolved cause this device is the best out there. Camera is terrific. Smemo and S pen awesome features for fat fingers. Fast processor and expandable storage. plus water resistant. Still wish they offered a full adhesive glass screen protector for the edge feature but the screen is awesome. Love this phone.

Quite frankly .. I didn't have the problems that got this phablet the attention of the CPSC and the TSA ..
(it never overheated on chargers, didn't overheat in the cases, no overheating while charging in the SUV/Truck .. and definitely did not overheat while used)
What was excellent .. the s-Pen, the LARGE size, the ability to adapt to disabled needs and the excellent (Fast) ability to change between apps and the originally on the device apps (including Windows Office software)
Along with the water resistance and the expansion slot for a MicroSD Card (which I do like considering I have business, hobby and personal data on separate MicroSD Cards that I do swap in and out during the use times) ..
This is what made this phablet a joy for me to use.
I now have a Galaxy S7Edge .. it's too small, NO s-Pen or stylus, it DOES in fact overheat while on chargers and in cases, is not as adaptable to my Disabilities, and is just a clumsy device (Due to the tiny size of the touchpad keys (which when you have arthritis makes it impossible for any sort of accuracy) ..
This has left me with a phablet/phone that is not good for much at all ...
(and it does hang up .. is slow to transition between files, isn't as responsive when using voice commands ..)
I'm very UPSET at the fact that to Travel I HAD to turn in my Note 7 for a phone that is not that useful overall .. and now am stuck (Because, let's face it .. we can't purchase up front anymore on any carrier). Hopefully a new Note Phablet will be seen in the future (near term).

This is my voluntary recalled replacement phone. It still heats up pretty warm. The green battery charge image lets me know it is the non-blowing up kind. If it weren't for the little thing of it blowing up, it is the best phone I have ever owned. Cool stylus, big screen, takes great pictures, water resistant.

Great battery life, beautiful screen , expandable memory, water resistant, s pen, 5.7 in screen. I really hated returning this phone. It check so many boxes off for a great phone. I was willingto ride it out but suspected Sammy would send a OTA update to motivate me to give it up so here I am with a HTC 10. It's not bad either, but it's no Note 7

I round up having to get this phone because of the recall on the Note 7 I prefer the notes due to the stylist because of my medical condition that causes me to have lack of dexterity in my hands the phone is good the battery is smaller than what you get in the notes but you can download that several of the no apps and there is a stylus accessory that you can get doesn't work is good but it works decent enough

Recall aside, this is the best Android phone. It has everything you can ask for: crystal clear screen, fast processor, amazing camera, responsive pen, iris scanner, etc.
It's a shame Samsung can't figure out what's causing it to catch fire and we have to return it.
I'm hoping the S7 edge will be a good replacement but I will miss my Note7!

This is definitely the BEST phone I ever had including IPhone. 64GB internal, up to 256 GB micro snd card p, Sim cd slot, 4 internal antennas, edge Panel, S Pen I can practice writing my Japanese. Windows browser overlays. Open to the internet fast. Great pics & videos.
Eventually, I'll hve to turn it in. But, won't do that until Samsung releases the Samsung S8 in Feb.or March 2017. There's no phone currently on the market that can compare with the Note 7. Didn't hve any problems with 1st nor with the replacement.

Just wish it didnt have any battery problems and the recalls. But also there might not be a note series anymore. Very good phone was happy about the features just would been great if all issues would been fixed after first recall

Great phoneThink big with this Samsung Galaxy Note7. The massive 5.7-inch screen gently curves around the edges of the phone, so it has plenty of space for you to work and play, and the S Pen lets you quickly...

The phone was fully recalled so you can no longer purchase it. In my time with it, I liked the phone. It felt solid whereas the S7 Edge feels a little "cheaper". The stylus worked amazingly well for writing.

This is the best phone by far in 2016. Nothing else comes even close to it. Too bad, the safety issue took it out of commission. I will be waiting for the S8 or Note 8.
It has:
- best low light camera
- water proof
- wireless fast charging
- usb c reversible charge cable
In comparision:
- Google Pixel does not have water proof, wireless charging
- Iphone 7/7+ have lower water proof rating, no wireless charging, proprietary cable. On par camera.

I loved my Note 7 and only gave it up after Occulus literally pulled support for it, as in I couldn't even use it for existing software or videos.
It was faster, cooler, and much easier to interact with than my new Edge 7.
If you have one of these, and don't plan to fly... I really miss mine :(
I feel like social media killed a phone with a few potential defects, possibly even caused by user error or third-party equipment.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 (before recalls)

I had preordered the Note 7 and looked forward to receiving it. We went to Best Buy as soon as it came in and got it set up from my old Note 3 cell phone. It was perfect, everything I wanted in a new cell phone. I was still learning how to use the features when the first recall came in. We went up and exchanged the phone, even though I was having no problems with it. We went through having to activate another phone and download all the info on my first note 7. Everything was great until the next (and final) recall. I ended up getting a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge cell phone. It was as close as I could get to the Note 7. I really miss the stylus, and had to order new case for the S7 Edge. I like the fact that both phones could expand the storage with an sd card. The new phone is much faster than my old one, with new apps that help keep the phone working without slowing down with junk that slow down the phone. The S7 Edge works with the wifi fast charging stand, which I purchased with the Note 7. The colors are great, and it has free themes you can download and use depending on the season if you want to. I like the edge apps and people apps. It makes it quick and easy if you want to call or text your favorite people, or open an app you use frequently, without having to search for it. All in all I am very happy with the S7 Edge.

The Galaxy Note7 phone I had, unfortunately, I had to exchange for another Samsung phone because of all the bad press it was getting even after the problem was supposedly fixed. To me it seemed to be fine, but i didn't want to take any chances. However, I am still loyal to Samsung because I exchanged it for the Galaxy S7 Edge. Hopefully, they'll redeem themselves with the Galaxy Note8 if they come out with one. Hopefully it'll be a lesson learned. I won't recommend Note7 to anyone, but I will recommend other Samsung products family & friends.
