Customers are saying

Customers value the HMD Odyssey Mixed Reality Headset's comfortable design and precise tracking capabilities, frequently praising its ease of setup and high-resolution visuals. Positive feedback also highlights the immersive sound quality and minimal visual artifacts. While some users noted minor drawbacks with the controllers and a slight screen-door effect, these were generally considered less impactful than the headset's strengths.

Hands down the best Mixed reality headset. Samsung did a good job. Although there is still room for improvement.

The Samsung Odyssey has a great display, the picture is much better and the colors are more vibrant than anyother headset available today. Unfortunately they had to put this awesome display on the worst, bulkiest, most uncomfortable headset ever made. It will leave you with a rash on your forehead and a sore pinched nose, it shakes when you move your head and it lets light in all around. I have to wear a ski mask when I use this headset to correct all these issues. If your wondering I do have a pretty average normal shaped head. Tracking is the biggest issue of all with the Odyssey. It’s an absolute nightmare all around. The controllers loose tracking all the time and this has gotten me killed in Skyrim more times than I can count. It’s very, very frustrating when you want the headset to be great because of the picture but your battling with tracking issues and discomfort the whole time. I just gave up and went back to playing games on my Oculus Rift. I use my Odyssey to watch Netflix and that’s about it. Not worth the investment in my opinion.

this headset has a very good resolution, the setup can be lengthy though. But after a couple of hours setting up windows mixed reality and steam, im good to go. comes with mic and headphones integrated unlike the other WMR headsets.. but it can be bad if they ever stop working.. the only compaint is that you cant quick lift the visor like the others. but hey.. on the other specs.. it's the best!

Played with it for about a month then I took it back just because I wasn't gonna use it enough to justify the price. It was a lot of fun and I'm sure if I had more time for things like games it would have brought me hours of entertainment.

I purchased this as a gift for my husband. It was a big hit. No problems so far. I do recommend using with a darkened room for a better experience.

It’s lightweight design has reasonable durability. The remote tracking sensors can be sometimes inconsistent however, once you get use to it’s tracking parameters, it’s a great VR experience.

Let me start off by saying I in the HTC Vive, I have used the rift, and the phone thing (SamsungVR?). The visual quality if this is best in class. I now use this over the HTC Vive. I am glad the tech is moving forward. Pros: very clear image, much much more comfortable than Vive and rift. Controls are comfy. Set up is easy, and your VR "home" once you get it all set up is great fun. Cons: pricey, the Windows update took about an hour (needed for the headset). The cable is a couple feet shorter than the Vive. And slightly awkward to don and doff the HMD. I highly recommend this headset as it is much better than the Acer,HP, and lenovo

I couldn't use it for more than 20 minutes without feeling sick, and I've literally never had an issue with motion sickness at any other point in my life, so I guess it could happen to anybody.

This IS the VR headset you're looking for!

Amazing headset! I have been following VR for many years, reading reviews, trying different ones - including the Vive, Rift, and PSVR. I have 20/20 vision and things like the screen door effect and God rays on the rift/vive completely ruin it for me. The screens on them really aren't up to par. The psvr doesn't suffer from these issues, but it has a noticeably lower resolution and aliasing. This was the year I decided to take the plunge into VR, but was left disappointed, UNTIL I tried VR on this headset with Windows mixed reality and SteamVR. I really believe WMR coupled with Steam for gaming is the future for VR/MR. With the Samsung Odyssey you have built in headphones, a mic, the highest resolution screens available and because of this - no real noticeable screen door effect, and alot less God rays. The setup and the tracking are just as good as the Vive. The Samsung Odyssey is top quality and is exactly what I have been looking for. Look no further, this is the best!

I was trying to resist the first generation headsets. First gen is always a disappointment, right? However, my son wore me down and I agreed to try one in store. It was much better than I expected and a month later I caved and bought the Samsung headset. I've had it for about a month now. I don't play so many games (though my son does). The ones I've looked at are fairly limited. They mostly feel like game developers experimenting with this new format rather than game developers building the next big thing. However, some of those experiments are very impressive - I can't wait for the full blown games as they continue to figure out the best format. For me, I spend lots of time in a virtual world using text to speech to read my research articles while I explore randomly generated scenery. I've also been extremely impressed with the VR sports coverage - as a sports fan I am 100% convinced this is the way I want to watch sports in the future - it's simply amazing. Finally, as a software engineer I'm having great fun with my own experiments with interfaces in VR (I also own a HoloLens for this reason, Microsoft are doing a fantastic job of allowing us developers to learn one paradigm for both environments - I guess that's whey they call both Mixed Reality).
