Customers value the HMD Odyssey Mixed Reality Headset's comfortable design and precise tracking capabilities, frequently praising its ease of setup and high-resolution visuals. Positive feedback also highlights the immersive sound quality and minimal visual artifacts. While some users noted minor drawbacks with the controllers and a slight screen-door effect, these were generally considered less impactful than the headset's strengths.

Uses windows update

I’m fairly tech savvy (am a computer tech for a living), and after 2 os restores and time spent working with Microsoft and Samsung techs to determine the headset wasn’t the issue fully, I can conclude that a windows based headset such as this one is not worth it. Go buy the vive or the rift as they have 3rd party software that is more plug and play than the shotty usage of windows updates that are the root of all tech problems on this earth. If it would have worked, the headset is actually quite bulky and heavy. So I probably wouldn’t have felt very immersed anyways. It’s been 3 days of troubleshooting and I’m simply done... time to go get a headset that has nothing to do with mixed reality.

Not for serious Vr fans

The odyssey has better resolution than any vr headset to date and you can see the diffrence, However the tracking and game support for this unit kills any hope of it being a success. The motion controls dont work at all in a dark room and even in well lit room its somewhat glitchy. Most games on steam dont work properly for this headset the controls are wonky and proper button assignments are all messed up compared to vive and oculus.I cant recomend this at all because vr is all about immersive experience and this headset is more of a glitched out after thought than a legit contender for vr. Needless to say i returned it and will hold out for the vive pro...If i were you i would do the same!

Great picture.. but terrible tracking

I've recently returned my Samsung Odyssey for two reasons: Poor tracking on controllers and poor tracking on the headset.
I had tried everything. Better lighting, changing around the rooms setup. Nothing worked. Another terrible feature was that you couldn't re-center your camera in-game once it got skewed like I could with the Oculus back in the day.
The picture was much clearer than that of the Oculus DK2 which was my last headset but the lack of sensors keeps this from being one of the best HMD's on the market. Maybe their next version will prefect inside out tracking but until then.. I'd stay away from this if you're wanting to do anything hardcore gaming related.
