Sony who? Put all my eggs in the Sony basket several years ago but it has been a down\hill slide . Transitioned almost all devices to Samsung. (Note 4 smart phone, multiple note tablets, Samsung laptop, Samsung appliances, etc.). Now the Multi-Room app is actually usable and the speakers are awesome. It is not just a speaker but also standalone internet radio & Bluetooth speaker. When I have all of them going throughout the house playing it is awesome. I have multiple M7s, a soundbar , M5 & M3 speaker all on the Multi-Room app playing in sync. I have a second hub to extend the system throughout the house. Also have Multi-Room blue ray player. NICE!!!

I have a SONOS system, but this is a strong alternative. The main differentiator being the ability to directly use blutooth and connect to your Samsung tv. The sounds quality is good. Right now there appears to be a change of model and you can find these in the "open box" section of several stores for about $105.

I bought the hub and 2 M5 speakers and I am happy with the results. Speakers sound good but nothing amazing, I prefer the sound from an old Beats Beatbox but that speaker is much bigger. I had some problems with the initial setup but everything works great now. I hope to expand the number of speakers. You can you these speakers with Bluetooth enabled Samsung TV but I am not sure if these speakers sound much better. These speakers are nice for background music but not for critical listeners.

The M5 speaker is great for any room. It offers great sound and a powerful bass for its small compact shape. I really liked how it was triangular shape & could be sit up on its side. It made it easier to store/move and appealing to the eyes. The Multi-room capability is really convient, though I am not really using that feature to the fullest.

Yes, there are better speakers out there but this one is pretty solid at its price, especially if you can catch it on sale like I did. The base is decent, the app to run it allows you to use spotify and it works off of wifi if you want so you don' t have bluetooth range issues.

I got this to just play music with and ended up also pairing my TV audio through by Hopper. My audio sounds much better played through this vs the TVs built in audio.

It is a great speaker and alternative to the songs but lacks lows when you crank up the volume and distorts the highs too.

Speakers don't work in Stereo; Support Stinks

If you need 1 speaker, an M5 works fine. Good speaker. If you want to try and find out how to use two M5's together (which you can't do), then watch out. Great buy online from BB for two speakers. Wanted to have two rear wireless, bluetooth speakers. Could get one going, but not two at same time. Called Samsung Support. They suggested buying a link mate for $350. Not helpful. Took speakers back to Best Buy for help. While nice, none of the staff there knew you could only use one speaker at a time. They gave me a website and sent me home. What bothered me there is that the Samsung Sales Rep was in the back of the house and would not come out or help solve the problem. So I went back home and hired a techie to help me out and he couldn't solve it either (because of course, it wasn't solvable). We called Samsung Customer Support together and I was shuttled from one department to another SIX TIMES with no resolution. Each time they asked me for my name, email address and telephone number. The sixth person---by the way---hung up on me AND DIDN'T CALL BACK. Speaker works well, but you now know why I wouldn't recommend buying anything from Samsung and we have a huge Samsung TV. What bothers me even more than Samsung (besides Comcast and Verizon and Apple and any other conglomerate who thinks customer service is second to making money), is that Best Buy couldn't explain it to me either. Why pay money to their staff when it's obvious they don't train on their merchandise? I wound up going to the stereo center there; name escapes me right now, and sales rep wound up suggesting a wireless rear speaker kit which did work for me. Rather than end on a sour note, I liked the speakers themselves, decent sound for a non-audiophile and easy to link with a wireless extender that you need to buy. Don't forget it. No way to avoid it.

It's smaller than an M7 but the sound is as good as the M7 but less louder than it. It's a perfect size for a living room or a basement and big enough to fill the entire room. When connected to other shape speakers all in one room, it creates a perfect surround system when watching movies.

I bought two of the speakers and they work together seamlessly in the house. I have had no problems with them syncing and playing music. Also got them on a one-day special so that made it even better

I personally love these speakers. I know there are mixed reviews but they work pretty good in my house. The app has changed significantly the past few months and has certainly improved. Looking forward to further updates.

I bought two M5 speakers about a month after the purchase of two M7's. Individual speakers sound great! In a group is where these speakers perform their best... The app from samsung isn't the best, it is slow and not very user friendly. It doesn't allow you to adjust the volume using the phone controls, you have to open the app each time. It does connect to Amazon music, pandora, spotify and other apps but will connect via bluetooth to any device for anything not covered from the samsung app.

I purchased an M5 and two M3 speakers. I integrated them with my Smartthings hub and Amazon Echo. One if the reason I purchased these speakers is because they were listed on the Smartthings compatibility list. I was told I needed a samsung speaker hub to make them work together. This was not true. If your wireless network is fast enough (wireless AC router) their hub is not necessary. The free phone APP for the Android works very well. Integration with Smartthings and Echo is very limited. However, the Samsung Speaker app works very well. You can group the speakers so they all play the same thing in synchony or let each speaker play it's own music. I found the services supported very good and can also play from my private library via DNA or from my phone. The only negative is they do not play as loud as I would expect for the price. The M3 bass is a little lacking but the M5 Bass is adequate. I did not try to integrate with my home theater. I did purchase two more and plan to integrate them using the hub with the Samsung TV at my parents house.

The design on the M series is great and the sound is really good but there was some difficulty connecting connecting to my Samsung Soundbar and TV. It wasn't very clearly at first that needed the hub to create the surround sound feature. Once I picked that up it worked much easier.

Working with multiple speakers with this system works most of the time, but sometimes the app binds up and I can only access two speakers of my whole house system. The sound once working is good for the size and price.

This is a great speaker. It's too modern and doesn't have an auxiliary input. So if you want to hook it up to an old anything (record player, CD player, etc) it's not going to work. Only works with Bluetooth.
