Customers are saying

Customers commend the Odyssey G7 monitor's picture quality, refresh rate, and immersive curved screen. Many appreciate the vibrant colors and HDR capabilities, although some found the price point high. A few users reported issues with flickering and dead pixels, while others experienced problems with adaptive sync and DisplayPort connections. Overall, the positive feedback on picture quality and refresh rate outweighs the negative experiences reported by some users.

I purchased this about a year and a half ago. It's been great. Beautiful, accurate colors, blazing fast response without any noticeable ghosting, or smearing, high quality materials, and awesome build quality. Before this monitor all I had were flat panels. I thought I would hate the G70 due to the more extreme curve, but I never expected to love it. In fact, I don't think I ever want a flat panel for gaming again. I find the curve more immersive for sure. While still not full fledged HDR, HDR 600 is noticeably better than HDR 400. I did have issues with flickering and panel uniformity on earlier models, but it took a couple returns to get one that was good. I'm sure by now they have addressed and ironed out all the early problems. I would have gone for a 32" 4k monitor if 32" monitors weren't too large, but they are to where I have to move my head around while gaming. So, because of that, I found that 27" is perfect for my desk, and at 27", 1440p is ideal. I really like how they designed the legs. Because of the design, I found that it really doesn't take much desk area away from me, as I can place things in between and around them. Overall, fantastic design all around and a great monitor. Highly recommended.

Excellent monitor. I love the quality of the screen and the maneuverability of the mount, the only thing keeping this from a 5 star for me is the cable management system. it's very tight in there and i pinched some cables because of it.

This is a good monitor that comes with high refresh rates and at a nice 1440p resolution. The curve take a while to get used to, but once you have used it for a while and as long as you stay near the focal length of the monitor it is a great experience. P.S. Make sure to update your monitor refresh rate setting in windows to allow for the 240Hz refresh rate. It is not always automatic.

Super high refresh @240Hz. Great Contrast. Decent amount of features. Love love love the curve (that's what she said). Where does it go wrong then for me? G-Sync compatible. It's pretty laughable that this was certified. The picture starts to flash (some people will say it's flickering) at certain framerates or when frametimes are unstable. Depends on the game. Happens maybe 15-20% of the time for me. This should not happen at all though. The only way to stop this is to turn G-sync compat Off or turn on VRR Control in the settings. VRR Control fixes the flashing/flickering but introduces kind of a jitter/stutter. VRR also seems to add extra input lag from my personal experience (may be placebo). Samsung has not released a firmware upgrade to fix these problems. If you're using an AMD GPU, go for it. I'd be cautious if you're running NVIDIA hardware though.

A great monitor for 1440p gaming with HDR options. The quality is great, but the viewing angles are very tight and you need to be fairly close. The best version is definitely the larger version of this, but if you don't mind the more narrow focus, this is a great gaming monitor, albeit very expensive.

Great if you’ve been spoiled by apple displays

I bought this monitor last year when I built my PC. Prior to that, I was used to apple MacBook Pros. Those have displays that you just can’t compare to standalone monitors that aren’t thousands of dollars. My old 2013 MacBook Pro had a 4K hdr (Retina) display. Not being able to get anything that good in a stand-alone monitor was very upsetting to me. I was definitely intrigued by this monitor firstly for the curve of the screen- and I will say that after nearly a year of using it, I can not use a flat screen anymore. It is just SO comfortable for viewing. I was concerned about the depth of blacks and getting vivid enough color- and this monitor can produce INSANELY deep blacks. Black hole level blacks. The colors are incredible. The same old games I’ve played for years are so much more beautiful than they ever were before. No performance issues at all. I have never regretted this purchase for even one day since I got it. If you have been spoiled by apple displays but want a PC, or don’t want to spend $6000 on a laptop, I don’t really think you can go wrong with this. I genuinely think it is worth the price.

So far the monitor has better color than a TN panel and is able to maintain 1440P at 240Hz. I thought the curve screen would be a detriment but after a month on it, it hasn't been an issue. The initial couple of hours you get use to it and it is business as usual. The next gen GPU is what it will take to push this thing though on ultra settings.

The whites and blacks on this monitor are incredible, even better than my 4K OLED VIZIO tv. I went from a 144hz monitor to this 240hz, and after 180fps in-game, you notice a difference. I play first-person shooters, and I often feel like I'm playing against clueless people when in actuality, I'm seeing them long before they see me. I use this for gaming, video rendering, and in pro tools. This pairs very well with a 1080Ti. I can't seem to get the USB function to work, but I don't really need it. The emissive lights can be adjusted to taste. The curvature of the monitor took time to get used to, like a week, but man it makes things feel more immersive. I got the 27in model due to desk contraints, but I would have went with the 32in if I had the room. Lots of nice features, plenty of room for tweaking, excellent colors. Its a very expensive monitor, but 240hz at 4K won't be around (especially in this price range) for a few years.

I purchased because let's be honest there really isn't anything out there like it at the moment. It's 2k has 240hz a 1ms response time premium AMD FreeSync/G-Sync and to top it all off it has HDR and it's a Qled. The reason I'm rating this a 3 star review is because it's a VA panel and the backlight bleeding is horrendous.. I would have loved to rate this product higher but it's rather bad on certain viewing angles and with a dark picture you can really see how the light bleeds through the edge's.. Too good to be true *Optional Opinion* The curve adds a nice affect but that's all up to the viewers choice.

240hz Refresh rate at 1440p looks great. Power button at the bottom of monitor has a blue light that doesn't turn off so I had to put electrical tape on it. That's the only complaint I have though.

This is an excellent monitor. The negative reviews are because of a flickering issue when g-sync was activated, but this has been fixed with a firmware update. If the monitor is of a newer batch, you won't even have to do this. As far as the curve goes, I'm loving it in game. This will be the more polarizing feature. You're either okay with the curve or you're not. For me, there's absolutely no downside to the curve, I like it. The image quality, color, and contrast are fantastic. The response time is great for fast paced games, especially when used with motion blur reduction which is implemented very well. It doesn't strain my eyes like some other monitors have. Mine had no dead pixels, and no backlight bleed. For the price, if the curve doesn't bother you, I'd suggest giving it a try.

I've had this monitor for about six weeks, and I like it a lot. This was my first curved screen - I suspected I would like it for gaming, but wasn't sure about day-to-day use (at home). I like the curve even for general use. I wasn't sure about the design with RGB lights protruding from the bottom, but they aren't as noticeable as I feared, and with my set up the light even helps light the keyboard a little in the dark. The RGB lights can be turned off, but I often leave them on. I never had the "flashing" issues while gaming with Nvidia graphics cards that I saw in some reviews. At first I was using my old computer with a GTX 1060 6GB, and then my new computer with an RTX 2070 Super. The monitor was delivered with firmware ("software") version 1006.0, but I was able to update it to 1009.3. The first USB thumbdrive didn't work for the update, but a second was recognized. This was an upgrade for me from a 27" HD monitor, so the detail is noticeably better - esp. text in general activity.
