Amazing Monitors ruined by Dead Pixels!

After receiving and unboxing FOUR of these monitors, I'm ready to write my review:
Spec for spec, this is the best gaming monitor that Best Buy offers. It's the only one with 240hz refresh rate, 1440p QHD resolution, QLED, GSYNC, and HDR support. This monitor is amazing! It has a huge 32" screen (which I didn't even know I needed until now). Gaming on this is a dream! The colors are vibrant, the HDR makes them really pop. The 240hz refresh rate is buttery smooth! You would expect nothing but the best from Samsung, right? WRONG!!!
Upon ordering and receiving the FIRST monitor and inspecting the screen, my excitement and enthusiasm was immediately deflated due to dead pixels - one in the bottom right, and one in the top right. I called Best Buy support to report the problem. They were very sympathetic and kindly shipped me a SECOND replacement monitor. To my dismay, the second monitor also had dead pixels. This time in the dead center of the screen. When I called Best Buy customer service, they told me they could not ship me another monitor because they had already done a reship, so instead I took the second (worse) monitor into the store for a return.
The representative was really nice and helpful. She set me up with a THIRD monitor to be shipped to me. Third time's the charm, right? Spoiler alert...NOPE! I received the third monitor and this time there were stuck pixels in the center of the screen. They were stuck on red so they only showed up on green, blue, and white images, but still very annoying and distracting.
After being in complete and utter despair after having received THREE bad monitors, I had resolved myself to just keeping the original monitor because at least the dead pixels were in remote corners of the screen and less noticeable. Upon returning the third defective monitor, the Best Buy store manager surprisingly offered to ship me a FOURTH monitor. Reluctantly, I agreed because, I mean, what are the odds of getting 4 bad ones? I was actually in shock of how awesome and patient and understanding the Best Buy staff has been through this! I can't praise them enough!
Well, today I received the FOURTH monitor and you guessed it...DEAD and STUCK pixels!!! There was another red stuck pixel (seems to be common with this model), a group of dark gray pixels that never changed right in the middle of the screen, and a dead pixel in the bottom right. Ughhh.
At this point, if there was another brand of monitor that could offer me all of the features that this monitor has I would go with it in a heartbeat. Unfortunately...there isn't. So I guess I will begrudgingly hold on to the original monitor since it had the least amount of dead pixels because I just love this monitor so much and nothing else compares. It just infuriates me that Samsung could have this horrible of quality control! Ironically, I'm a big Samsung user. I have the Samsung Note 20 Ultra (no dead pixels), and I have 2 Samsung 4k TVs (both without any dead pixels). Until this, I have been happy with all my Samsung products. I don't know why their gaming monitor division is so terrible!
If you are considering rolling the dice and playing "Pixel Roulette" with this monitor, make sure you purchase the Geek Squad protection plan because you are almost certain to see dead pixels at some point in the life of the monitor. Looking at Samsung's warrantee policy, they say that they will NOT warrantee any device unless it has more than SEVEN dead pixels!! Are you kidding me?? That in itself is an unforgiveable travesty, and tells you that they must KNOW that they are intentionally shipping screens with dead pixels!! What the heck Samsung??? If you are paying $800-$1000 for a TV/monitor, it should have ZERO pixel problems. So make absolutely sure you get the Best Buy coverage!
If you are a pixel peeper like me, then I would suggest staying away. You're only setting yourself up for heartache and a LOT of trips back to Best Buy. If you are the type of person who doesn't see dead pixels or doesn't even understand what I'm talking about, then go ahead and get this monitor. You'll probably love it. If you do happen to get a monitor without dead pixels, congratulations! You won the lottery! You will enjoy a fantastic gaming monitor! Sadly, that's not something that I will ever get to experience....

This monitor was my first every actual purchase, and it has done me so much good since I made the purchase. Is perfect for not only gaming but even organic chemistry homework. I would definitely recommend if you’re on the fence about even getting a curved monitor because this monitor has done wonders and even elongated the life of my below average pc. I’m sure anyone with a 3080 ti and above graphics card would be able to take into full effect the true potential of this monitor. Not a day goes by I regret buying this monitor.

A True Gaming Monitor With Few Compromises

The Samsung Odyssey G7 is one beautiful piece of technology.
Gaming on this monitor has been a pleasure. Colors pop and images are crisp.
HDR is pretty good but definitely not true HDR as it is not a full array display and is lacking local dimming zones. For being a monitor with an MSRP that comes in just shy of $800 that is to be expected. HDR reduces the brightness of the screen by around 30% which, in all honesty, is fine since this monitor is extremely bright when HDR is turned off.
I have seen reviews of some of these monitors with the blacks appearing very bright around the edges. I am happy to say my monitor doesn't have this issue. All colors appear extremely uniform and blacks are dark especially with HDR enabled and allowed to contrast with brighter colors.
The refresh rate is insane. My RTX 3080 is putting in some major work pushing out frames to keep up with the 240Hz.
Please bear in mind that this monitor does not have speakers. You will need to buy speakers or use headphones.
The curve is aggressive. That is a positive for me as I rather enjoy the immersion it provides and I don't plan on making this a dual-monitor set-up.
No dead pixel issues of any sort.
I would highly recommend this monitor to anyone looking for a curved gaming monitor.

At first I was a little hesitant on buying this. But I wanted a bigger monitor and a curved one. And Xmas was coming up, so I put it on my list. I set it up and was amazed at it. Even tho there was some things not set up, and the instructions was just on how to put it together. I did figuer on how to get and learn about everything. Now that I got it up and running right I want another one. I did have and issue with the on screen controls. But going online to see what they was talking about I got that right. The on and off switch is a toggle switch for all your controls. Then the dpi cable was not working. But then again I that that my port on my card had gone out, because on my old monitor I had to switch it to the HDMI cable. Ok so researching this I seen a lot of people was having the same problem. And further research suggested that you make SURE the dpi cable is all the way in. So with that, checking with the old monitor. All is good and now I would like to get another one. One more thing. On the G7 under the gaming controls, it says it has a virtual cross hair. I didn't know it did, but my old one did and glad that G7 does. Just remember to go on line to check the set up instructions. There is none in the box except on how to put the thing together. Screen shots. the 1st is Ghost Recon Wildlands and the 2nd is Break Point. The 3rd is bench marks.

Best monitor I’ve ever owned! Going from 60hz to 240 was like omg! Amazing! I am using a 8700k cpu and 3080 ultra both stock so 240 might of been a bit of overkill on some games but I don’t care. This monitor was well worth it! Incredible!
Monitor stand could be better as it does shake a little bit with my table but it’s a very minor issue imo.

The monitor looks perfect with my setup. Love the accent lighting on it. The lights gives it a more clean look as opposed to strip lights. The display is phenomenal, the picture quality is clear and gives such great color contrast. Definitely worth the money.

I ordered two of the 32" G7 monitors, and while I did test them with my older PC to verify they work, have little backlight bleed, and briefly viewed their performance in Fortnite, they currently sit awaiting my new gaming PC. I will update my review after using them for gaming and video editing (as G-Sync apparently has flickering issues from what I've read in other reviews), but I wanted to share photos of how nice this monitor looks when mounted.
Yes, this is a Vesa 100x100 mount monitor, and it does come with the mounting plate. Be aware that when mounting, you cannot install the plastic ring on the back of the monitor where the LED display is or the cover to hide the cords (this particular mounting bracket does have cable management features though). I mounted two 32" panels on a Mount-It 1772 desktop bracket, and it does a pretty good job of holding these beasts at attention, though tilt adjusting is a bit tedious. Since the G7 has a large stand, mounting saves considerable desk space if you don't mind pulling your desk away from the wall a bit.
Stay tuned for more once I am able to test these puppies with an RTX 2080ti and Ryzen 9 3950x.

Great monitor, coming from a 4k 32" 60hz and the difference with my rtx 2070 was impressive but with my EVGA Rtx3090 ultra gaming, the detail is extremely impressive. Stock settings are OK but when you adjust to your liking plus use G-sync it's a big difference. Highly suggest if you have spent big money on a pc and accessories that you need to spend the money on a quality monitor like this one. If not it's like having a sports car with Yugo tires on it. You won't get the full potential of your cpu and GPU without it.

Not too Happy. Paid a good amount for it only for this white line/ scratch to show up a month later. Very unfortunate because besides that it's an exceptional monitor. Unfortunately poor customer service from Samsung due to them essentially telling me to kick rocks will have me leaving a poor review. Get a monitor from a company that cars at least a tad more.

My full review of this 32" model is on the 27" product page if you wish to have a look!
In a nutshell however, this monitor is great, except with a few compromises that while may not be a deal breaker for me, might be for others. You could spend (quite) a bit more for a better monitor, particularly 4k, but that in and of itself comes with some issues, such as making sure your computer has enough horsepower to run at higher resolutions.
For the price, and given that currently there is a slim market for monitors that offer this feature set, especially at this price, I would not hesitate to recommend it. If all you want is gsync, or a high refresh rate for gaming, you could do yourself a favor and save a few bucks and go for something cheaper. As for me, I'm keeping my baby! (this monitor).... ....
TLDR:
If you have poor eyesight like me, I will say by all means go 32"; if you are an artist needing the highest color fidelity possible however, do not skimp out and go for the model that rhymes with Hacer that just dropped about 400, or the Hasus 4k 2000 dollar monitor, with your Daddy Warbucks self.

Never Buy Open Box Products. Monitor is great but it’s missing parts. Samsung doesn’t have pictures to the parts online, so they keep sending me the wrong parts. They have sent me 3 so far and they aren’t the correct ones. It’s a hassle to get through. Monitor was missing both covers. The cover to the back of the monitor and the cover to the stand. My monitor looks horrible. Spent close to $700 for a non complete monitor. And it was labeled “Excellent condition” by Best Buy. Now I’m stuck with it because I missed the 14 days deadline to return it. I thought “Excellent condition” was a good enough rate to trust. DO NOT TRUST OPEN BOX CONDITIONS FROM BEST BUY. Good luck guys. Don’t mess with Samsung customer service either. Just return it immediately if you are missing anything from the box.

Worked for about 12 solid hours until a vertical black line started to appear on the screen. Tried new cables, different input sources, latest firmware, no joy. Apparently, a lot of users have the same problem and had to do a warranty exchange. Cable management features are near impossible to work with especially when all the cords plugged in. Monitor stand is flimsy and shakes when trying to access the main menu. Feet are too long and broke my LED mouse pad. RGB lights are manually controlled and don’t sync with any software which was disappointing considering this giant USB cable it comes with. Overall, this monitor was too much of a hassle to deal with and considering the price I paid, not worth my time.
