Customers consistently note the Odyssey Neo G7's excellent picture quality, with many praising its HDR performance and high refresh rate for gaming. The large screen size is also frequently highlighted as a positive, although some users mention noticeable ghosting, particularly during fast-paced scenes or web browsing. Despite this drawback, the monitor's brightness, contrast, and Mini-LED technology receive considerable acclaim.

Excellent Monitor for Productivity and Gaming

I purchased this monitor through Best Buy during Amazon Prime Day and I got it for a steal at $499. Actually, I had a $100 gift card that I used as well which brought the price to $399. A 43" Mini-LED Monitor at $399 is a STEAL!!! I wanted a non-OLED monitor for fear of burn-in and this monitor does not disappoint. It meets all my needs for gaming and productivity. Sure, it's not the best monitor in the world and it's really a TV in disguise, but at the price that I paid, I'm all SMILES!!!
If you want to pay more to get more, you can certainly do so, but I'll take this monitor any day at $499. It's still worth it if you pay a bit more. Just know that it's not OLED, but it ticks all the boxes for my needs. I'm not an Audio/Video guru, but I do like to make educated purchases by reading reviews and watching YouTube videos.
Some folks may be turned off by the fact that it's a Smart TV, but it works for me. The remote doesn't have an input button, but it's intuitive to change device input from the home screen. I've only had the monitor for about a month and I absolutely love it. The colors are bright despite the 400 max nits with 600 nits peak for HDR. I have my brightness set to 15 out of 50 and it's plenty bright; even in well lit rooms.
The text clarity is fine and clear considering the subpixel layout. I sit about 3 feet away and I can read everything clearly. I believe there are options to make text even better, but I haven't explored those options yet since it looks fine to me. There's about 2.5" of clearance from my desk to the monitor's bottom edge that allows me to slide a TCL soundbar underneath.
If you can get this monitor for $499, then it will be the best 43" monitor for the price. My only hope is that the monitor will stand the test of time. If I can get 7+ years out of it, then I'll be happy to buy another Samsung monitor in the future, unless I see something better. So I encourage anyone looking for a nice monitor to check out the Samsung Odyssey Neo G7. You'll be glad you did! Just buy it on sale if you can.

This Odessey G7 43” 4k gaming monitor has been great for me, especially at the $499 price point I got it for. I have only had one rare issue with it. The audio from my soundbar cut out on two different occasions prompting me to replug the HDMI cable and restart my computer. The picture is great and I am happy with the performance. It is meeting my needs. One nit picky thing is the interface is cumbersome to get to all of the smart functions

"Decent Monitor with Some Annoyances for PS5 Users

In general, I appreciate the monitor, though it does have a few drawbacks. I use it exclusively for my PS5, and I've noticed that it boots up the PS5 every time I turn on the monitor to watch YouTube or Netflix, which is inconvenient. Similarly, when I finish playing on the PS5 and set it to reset mode, pressing the circle button on the monitor's controller wakes up the PS5, which can be bothersome. Furthermore, when playing FIFA 23, there's noticeable ghosting. Despite these issues, it's a satisfactory monitor overall.

So far gaming wise this monitor is pretty good in my opinion for a VA panel. Ghosting isn’t bad on gaming but for sports it’s very bad in my opinion. Watching Netflix or others streaming apps it is less noticeable but anything with sports is bad. Its colors are great but you have to calibrate as it doesn’t look good out of the box. I wouldn’t get it if you’re gonna be gaming on pc or if you’re gonna watch sports on it. Colors are great and blacks are pretty good. I wouldn’t buy it for over 500 dollars though.

I jist recieved this monitor today, and its gonna go back asap. Its a shame because the colors, brightness and features it provides are top notch. But if your pc gaming and web browsing you will get major ghosting, whites blacos, colors bleed when you drag windows/ webpage, even your mouse cursor turns yellow hue when moving it around.. its the same issue i saw on the 43 qn90b tv.. basically they relabeled it as a gaming monitor

First of all, this is not a true monitor. It is a TV converted to a monitor. Screen times out all the time. Does not wake up when PC does. Does not switch resolutions easily. It always wants to go back to its TV roots for some reason. Picture is ok, does have alot if ghosting.

This is more of a smart TV than a computer monitor IMHO, plus it's almost TOO big. I don't game much anymore, I just wanted a big monitor and boy, did I get it. I got it on a smoking sale, so it was a great deal, for my uses it's just fine.

I bought this monitor 10 or so days ago. I was excited. I work from home and I had been using two monitors for productivity. One was a viotek 1440p monitor and the other was an odyssey g7 28 inch 4k. Nice monitor, but I really want to combine this into one wall mounted option.
For weeks I scoured looking for something that wasn't too big, but big enough I could work and game on. I spoiled myself with 4k and knew I couldnt go back.
I didn't want oled because burn In. I didn't want a 49 inch curved because it's too much for my office. In comes this thing. I loved the idea of everything about it. Big enough, non oled, price is right, 4k. Perfect.
Well sports fans, this thing is hotttt garbage. I read the reviews of ghosting and I thougbt "how bad could it be" it's bad. U playable on pc. It looked like I was on mushrooms how many traces it would leave behind moving players.
The matte finish dulls everything. Navigating the settings menu is very annoying. It's not intuitive or user friendly the power plug in the back of the monitor is in the worst spot possible.
Before you say "well maybe it's your pc hardware"? Noppe. I have a 4080 and a 5800x3d in a custom loop. This thing is trash.
I went through every possible configuration of settings and nothing every looked good and I couldn't get rid of the ghosting or get the picture to pop. For 1000 dollars, it's not worth it.
I returned it and got an LG C2 because I'll take my chance with burn in over this thing.
Maybe this tech will become refined, but wait it out or get something that's a known commodity now.

I am basing this review off of purchasing this on sale for 600 dollars. At the asking price of 999.99 I think there are better options, but I sale it's hard to beat.
From a gaming perspective the monitor is fantastic. The slower VA panel response time has not been an issue for me in Remnant 2, D4, BG3, or a variety of other games. I do not play many competitive games so I can't speak to that.
The colors out of the box are lacking but there is a solid YouTube video on calibration to get you started by 1 up nerdcore. Heck a guy in the comments gives a tldr on settings so you don't have to watch the video.
Black smearing on text has not been an issue for me on dark mode or light mode. I could see it being an issue if you continuously scroll and read, but I personally don't know anyone who does that.
I only use it with my computer so I can't speak to reports of the monitor being buggy with multiple inputs. The monitor wakes when I startup my PC and shuts off when I put it to sleep or turn it off.
The interface seems to be a pain point for ppl but I have not found issues navigating settings. There was a firmware update that seemed to speed up responsiveness.
The HDR performance on this thing punches way above its HDR600 rating. Checking out some HDR tests online and this monitor is fantastic.
Ultimately, I think it's a great value for 500 to 600 dollars and not many competitors for 43 inch monitors. At 1000 just look at oled if you are it concerned about burn in.

If you can wait til it goes on sale (which it often is) please do yourself the favor and pick it up. It’s basically a 4K tv built for gaming and it excels so well at it. It’s large, great picture, high refresh rate, and good performance. I can’t recommend it enough.

Picked this up specifically for PC gaming. Only thing im dissapointed in ia that the back of the monitor looks cool, and I cant stare at the back of it too! swivel would be cool too, but the brightness, contrast, features, customization are all magnificent! It even has the LEDs on the fron of the monitor that can mimic color of the screen!

This is a review for the discounted $500 price I paid - $1000 is too much for this monitor with OLEDs in the same price category; burn-in is largely a non issue these days. The picture by picture is a bit lacking - I was hoping I could set my own resolution and I'm sure it's clearly stated that you can't somewhere, but still it's understanding and will likely never be used. Otherwise it has a fantastic picture and is a perfect size for both gaming and work.

Ecellent monitor that doubles like a smart TV. Just be sure to have a strong enough graphics card to power this beast!
Visuals are great, with nice black levels. Honestly, your better off with mini LED monitors like this versus an OLED panel as the burn in risk despite modern panel tech isnt worth it. Already experienced burn in with an LG set, pretty frustrating.

Picture is incredible. You will have to calibrate it out of the box though. Motion blur and ghosting tests were perfect. If you’re having issues verify your HDMI cable is 2.1 and using chrome for the test. Only issue ive had is disconnects when a game opens at the wrong resultion and you change it back to 4k. This monitor was an absolute steal at $500.

This monitor was delivered to me 5 days ago now and I have nothing but a great experiences to share. Before I provide my feedback with you, it’s important you know I’m a ps5 console gamer and my computer is a mac mini m1. Firstly- the video on this monitor is absolutely stunning. It does need slight tweeking out of the box for both the hdr and standard picture settings. That’s easy and there is a pretty awesome step by step video available on youtube university. The tyzen interface isnt nearly as slow as everyine made it seem. Is it snappy? Not exactly but it defeinetly isnt a terrible experience at all. The sixe of this monitor is massive. For a computer display i was a little intimidated at first but now i absolutely love it and wouldn’t return it if for anything smaller. There are ufo tests out there for ghosting tests etc. not really something i even noticed so far. Like i said, overall amazing monitor. Friends csme over yesterday to check it out and they agree islts a fanrastic monitor. Stoked i got it at such a great price also! Highly recommend!

On original set up failed to work with the remote control. This made the setup take over 30 minutes to finish. After that was done had to hard restart the monitor to get it working properly. On restart it went to static on the screen and did a soft restart.
Had to charge the remote fully and hard reset the monitor for the remote to start working properly with inputs.
The monitor is slow to respond on wake up. Taking 7-8 seconds to start up. So if I moved my mouse to wake up the computer. The monitor would start a 1 minute timer and say there was no signal from the display port. To fix this loop would have to hard restart my computer with it's power button.
To fix this issue had to turn on the monitor with the remote first. If not was restarting the computer.
Ran in to lag issues with the wifi connection on the monitor when trying to use the smart TV issues. Not all playback issues where resolved using an either net cord.
Also got the static screen and soft reset if I was switching through apps to quickly.
When using the screen was not able to set up a great picture in picture mode. When splitting window applications on the screen ran in to sizing issues when coming back from a wake up as the monitor would default back to 300% when it had been lowered already.
I was not able to get HDR playback from games with that enabled in the game settings and monitor settings.
USB hub worked good.
Had to return this Monitor as I was having issues daily.
