It was a very decent chromebook up until it broke. I like the convertible form factor. The display is excellent and performance snappy.
Then, it broke. It wasn't dropped or abused in any way. The hinge mechanism just popped out of the screen bezel, breaking the bezel and screen. It's too late to return to best buy so now I have to look into Samsung's warranty. This shouldn't happen so soon, if ever. One star, but I'll update if Samsung responds quickly and replaces it.

The Samsung Chromebook Plus model XE521QAB-K03US is a nice step up from the first earlier 2017 version but with several trade-offs in design. The new version is slightly heavier at just under 3 pounds but has a longer battery life. I can get a full day of use from the battery with the new 2018-2019 version where I came up short by about an hour with the earlier version. This 2018-2019 model with its Intel core M3 processor is in the same performance class as the previous Chromebook Pro perhaps slightly better performance since the Intel core m3 processor in the new Plus is a generation newer than the the processor used in the 2017 Pro. Version. The dark silver finish on the Plus V2 model seem to hold up to wear and handling better than the bright silver of the previous version. The lack of a backlit keyboard is the one feature absent but I don't find the absence impacts productivity with the chromebook.
The Samsung Chromebook Plus model XE521QAB-K03US is a premium chromebook in build quality. Intel core m3 performance, and features. With 2-in1 touchscreen configuration, included active stylus, FHD display, front and back cameras (when in tablet mode) and 128GB storage capacity with micro SD port storage expand-ability the XE521QAB-K03US is a premium chromebook at a very good price.
Chromebooks were created to serve as educational computers and the Samsung Chromebook Plus model XE521QAB-K03US fits into that role very well with less than 3 pound mobility, 128GB storage plus microSD and flash drive portable storage, keyboard, touch screen, active stylus (that doesn't need a battery)), full HD display, two cameras. The XE521QAB-K03US looks like a fantastic candidate for a chromebook for a collage student or for a business.chromebook

I had the MacBook Pro Retina Display 13-inch for about 3-years, after previously owning the MacBook Air 11-inch. I'm a graduate student so I tend to find myself using the computer for research, papers, homework, the typical. I'm not a heavy software user so I thought a Chromebook is a cheaper option that allows me to complete what I need.
I own a Google Pixel 3 so I felt sticking with a Google based product could make my life easier. I absolutely love the Chromebook. At times the software does freeze and requires a reboot, but all my work is typically saved so I don't lose anything important. It's just a bother to restart everything. The picture is great, probably not as good as the Retina but I'm not too hung up on screens and pixels. The stylus comes in handy at the most random times, you can use it or live without it. I hope this lasts me a few years and my future employer won't require any heavy softwares on my personal computer. Chromebook is very particular about programs it can run, I'm not THAT tech savvy so thinking about going into developer mode is terrifying. The battery life is great, the speakers are perfect for when you just want to binge-watch, and it's lightweight and thin.

I did lots of research before settling on the Samsung Plus V2. I was looking for something with good speed, has lots of storage, is expandable, has enough RAM to run what I needed to, and is reasonably priced. I also wanted an OS that is similar to what I'm used to on my Note 9. This Chromebook fit the bill and more. I have my favorite Android apps on it and also have Linux running so I could use it for web development - everything I need is there and running great - i.e., nginx/php/mariadb/postgresql/python/django/flask... etc. I'm very happy with this Chromebook.

I use this on a daily basis even though it originally was not meant to be used for daily use. The computer works amazingly with a few issues, but none that cant be solved. I've used the computer for two months now and can say that it is a very good computer especially for students who need something easy to use and can access apps quickly such as google docs and also good for people who like to draw or write notes.
Pro:
-This computer is super light weight and is very easy to take around to places.
-Keyboard is nice with smooth keys that are spaced a good distance apart
- Computer turns on fast and easy.
-Very easy to use app wise if you're familiar with the set up
- Pen works beautifully for writing and drawing
- Very easy to learn how to use for people not good with technology.
Con:
-keyboard does not light up
- Some apps such as fb messenger causes the computer to lag then turns the screen black and you must restart computer to get the screen back to normal.
- Some apps such as skype has some sort of glitch and does not work properly.
- If pen is out and your hand touches the screen, your hand will draw lines too.
-Can't have wireless mouse in if you want to use it in tablet mode or screen wont turn.

I spent a LOT of time researching Chromebooks, and this one had everything that I needed in my price range......except for a backlit keyboard :(
It wasn't a deal breaker though. I don't really care about the stylus, because I have a Samsung Note 9, but it is fun to have. Another big reason as to why I chose this one is the size and weight. I wanted to be able to use this as a tablet and every other Chromebook I tested was not usable in tablet mode in my opinion. Wayyy too heavy and not the right shape to make it comfortable to use. This Chromebook is the perfect shape and weight to use in tablet mode. I definitely recommend this product if you're looking for a mid-range priced Chromebook and don't mind not having a backlit keyboard! I gave it four stars because I have not gotten more than four hours of battery life. I've turned down screen brightness and done all of the other things recommended to prolong battery life, but I definitely don't get anywhere near the advertised "up to 9 hours.” However, It doesn't affect me all that much because I'm usually near an outlet. But don't get this if you need it to last longer than 4 hours.

After a long time using other laptops, I finally decided to take the plunge into the world of Chromebooks. This Samsung has exceeded my expectations. It is well built, attractive, and runs great. It is noticeably faster that my previous Windows 10 laptop. The keyboard has a nice feel, and the stylus is very useful too. Also, the screen is up to Samsung's standards, with excellent detail and color. I am very pleased with this purchase, and this Chromebook should serve me well for my use.

This is a great little computer. It is really quick. It will be perfect for my 25 hour flight to Vietnam. With my charger bank I will be able to charge it 4 or 5 times if needed. I am not sure how long each charge will last when watching movies. I downloaded the Amazon Prime Video app. I just need to download some movies from Amazon on to the hard drive or on to a flash drive. I will be able to watch movies the whole trip. I'm still trying to figure out how to get my wi-fi printer to work with it. I am very impress with this 2 in 1.

It great, and quick for our needs. All we do is browse online plus I’m going back to school so that’s all we needed it for. The main reason for buying it was so we would have a computer to show the full desktop website of a webpage. We have iPad and iPhones that won’t always display a full desktop webpage even when requested. Plus in case my iPad doesn’t allow for something in school I have this laptop to work on as another option. Oh and the other reason buying this was to get away from Microsoft Windows. Hated that stuff. And at the time of purchase, This also had the most storage At a cheaper price that the other models. It was a great sale.

Disclaimer-I've only had it since Thanksgiving week. But, so far I Love it! It's fast, the battery lasts, it's easy to use and just the right size to carry around. Also love the touch screen - although I find myself tapping the screen of my work computer expecting something to happen. Truly hope it lasts a really long time.

I'm giving this Samsung Chromebook 4 stars because I don't give anything 5 stars unless it absolutely blows my socks off. That said, this Samsung - Plus V2 2-in-1 with 12.2 " Touch-Screen Chromebook is pretty close to perfect. It's small and compact, but still has the feel of a laptop, which is good for me, and the screen has an excellent picture. The keys are smooth and allow for easy typing. The Chrome OS and Google ecosystem are a cinch to use and make this machine great for beginners or tech veterans alike. I must admit that I've only had this machine for less than two months, so I really haven't broken it in yet, but I love what I see so far! I highly recommend the Samsung Plus V2 2-in-1 for anyone who desires an easy method of browsing the web, conducting on-line shopping, watching YouTube videos, or sending email in a safe and secure environment.

Absolutely amazing! This Chromebook is lightning fast! I can have twenty tabs open while running Microsoft Word, Spotify, etc. Exactly what I wanted, works good for school, web browsing and research. Just to clarify for some who may have been wondering as I did... this Chromebook WILL run GoPro videos. Not sure about hardcore editing, I am not into that, however I was looking for something that would simply run them, this does the trick. No lag, better than both my Windows 10 laptop AND my PC (Windows 7). This Chromebook also outperforms both of the above-mentioned computers as far as speed! Nothing I have thrown at it has slowed it down yet! I would like to mention that the ONLY reason I selected 4 stars was because it took 3 whole exchanges before I got one that wasn't defective. First had an issue with the trackpad, second had a pixel bad and a bowed bottom, third had a warped screen. Who knows, I may have gotten the bottom of the barrel, after all, most other reviews are great. I still highly recommend this Chromebook for anyone that does extensive web browsing, research, etc. Even though it took a while to get one that worked, I still love it. Best Buy was more than helpful and got everything straightened out no problem! I also recommend that you DO NOT buy this for $600. I was about to and then price dropped to $400. I have heard that the price normally fluctuates, so buy it when it's cheap! You would probably be able to get a better laptop than this for $600. But hey, for 400 bucks, I ain't complaining! I hope my review has helped you make a purchase decision!

It's not the best Chromebook out there and has its limitations. But for the price, it's a fantastic device. I just needed a small second device to be able to watch stuff on/multi-task while I work on my main laptop and this little guy is perfect for that. The stylus is surprisingly good, the speakers produce ample sound. It's so lightweight that I forget that it's in my bag sometimes. There's nothing bad that I can think about this product. Probably the battery life could have been better but for a device under $200, that's expecting a bit too much.

Great Chromebook...until the hinges fails

We were so glad to own this Chromebook until it failed after 5 months of use. My wife went to open it, just like normal, when the right hinge stayed stuck in the downward position. This cause the hinge to come through the bezel, luckily not breaking the screen. We looked around online and found a few others with hinge issues just like ours and it seemed like Samsung was fixing this issue. I spoke to customer service through Samsungs virtual chat. They said it would be covered, free, and they'd even fix the other hinge too, just to stop it from happening again. I was told to wait on an e-mail with packing slips.
When I didn't receive any e-mail from Samsung, I chatted with a supervisor through virtual chat again. I was told that because there was physical damage (by damage they mean they hinge coming through the bezel) that it was NOT covered and I would have to pay for the repairs. After arguing my position for an hour with the supervisor, they agreed to send the packing slips so that I can send off the broken Chromebook but could still not guarantee that the repairs would be covered. I posted a pic of the damage on Imgur if you'd like to see what you are getting with this product. https://imgur.com/j9gB0bi
I'll post an update if I get satisfaction from Samsung.
PS- I bought another of this same Chromebook for my wife while this one was out of commission. The touchpad on the bottom right would continually get stuck under the body of the keyboard. So, Samsung is 0-2 with me for this product.

The build quality was very good, and the performance was more than adequate. With an Anker USB C hub, I was able to use it with an external keyboard, mouse, microphone, 1GB wired-Ethernet connection, and QHD (2560x1440) monitor. It also worked well with a 4K monitor at 30 fps. The display was bright and clear, but it wobbled a bit because of its weight. The keyboard and track-pad were very good, except that the space bar was a bit "clicky". It also worked well in tablet mode. Due to intermittent WiFi issues, I had to return it. The WiFi would stay connected, but would loose internet access after a period of a few minutes up to an hour. When the Chromebook WiFi was turned off and back on, the internet connection would be reestablished, but would eventually stop working again. It did this with three different routers, each of which works flawlessly with about 15 other wireless devices used in the house.
