This is a very fast external drive. I used it to install windows 10 on my Mac Book Pro Retina through its USB3 port. And It is working just fine.

I can't believe how much smaller the solid state portable drives are over the other portable drives. This drive is small, thin and light. The most portable external hard drive that I've ever seen. The one negative is the price which is pretty high for a 250gb drive. I was looking at another brand in the store. A Best Buy employee informed me that the Samsung drive is the fastest brand of SSDs in the store. I could have done a little better in price if I chose the other brand. Speed is important so I chose the Samsung. No regrets, very satisfied!

Just purchased a new iMac which included a Fusion HD. Someone recommended that I add a Solid State HD to my iMac and make it the primary drive. They said that the machine would run faster and more efficient. Well he was correct! I upload a lot of photos that I take with a high MP camera and each picture is a large file. My upload speeds are super fast and no more hang ups. I always saw SSD HDs before when o was looking for them and they cost much more. I didn't know why or knew that they had any benefit. After seeing this transfer files and do some heavy lifting effortlessly, I can see why the cost is more. I can also agree that it is very much worth the cost now if you transfer or upload heavy files. It moves fast without any issues. Losing that frustration is worth every penny.

I do a decent amount of video shooting and editing which require large amounts of storage space per project. I need something reliable, tough, small and fast! These are GREAT units. I have the 1tb as well. Got this one at a great price..the 1tb was a bit pricey at over $350, but I believe you get what you pay for when it comes to drives. Have had many cheaper drives fail. This is a winner!

Awesome compact storage! I bought this to replace my older, bigger heavier portable hard drive and cant believe how much lighter and convenient this thing is. Comes with a USB cable for easy hook up to laptops and desktops (including Macs). Really fast at transferring your files!

Love that's it's a solid state drive. That makes file access and transfers really fast, and much more stable and rugged that normal disk drives. And the 250GB capacity is plenty big enough for me and other average people with loads of pictures, music and other files. Also love the size. It really is about the size of a business card making it really easy to carry in your pocket, purse or computer bag. Takes up no room at all. Love it!

For new USB c 3.1 fast connection, this is the fastest and the most portable drive. I am not sure how reliable it will be but having SSD drive vs spinning one it should be less sensitive to drops. I am so impressed with the speed and small size. I wish it was more affordable to get larger capacity drive.

Got this on sale and it turns out to be an exceptional drive. Speed tests show 500+ mps on my mac and also our windows computers. The drive is small, light weight and easy to carry so Samsung got everything right on this drive. Now I'm watching for more sales so I can grab a few more of this model.

I have loved every moment with this drive. I use it to play Steam games and edit my video files, and I have not noticed any lag due to the drive. It's crazy how tiny and portable it is. It's also very light and easy to forget about. Highly recommend!

This ain't no flash drive. It's an external solid state drive, complete with its own SSD controller, making it much more dependable in the long run compared to typical USB mass storage controllers. Its MLC cells should easily outlast the cheaper SLC cells found in most flash drives by 1,000 write cycles.

I love that this little drive is so small and lightweight. It's super fast for transferring large files or lots of photos And/or videos from one device to another. Although much more expensive per gig of storage than a HDD, it has been a great replacement since my last one died. For the money, it would've been nice if it came with a small case or drawstring bag though.

I installed this in a doctors office as a backup for our server. Having a SSD drive coupled with USB 3.0 allowed our backup times to drop from one hour to just over 10 minutes. Incredibly fast and reliable. We actually bought three for a three day rotation. It is definitely worth it and the construction of the product feels very durable.

This thing is out of this world. I don't know how SSD is not the baseline normal technology now. It is just silly how much better his technology in heads and shoulders above each HDD. If you have never treated yourself to the joy of SSD technology, then you are missing out on life!

I have a couple of these drives in various sizes and they are the fastest portable SSD's available. One thing you should know is that the larger the capacity of the drive, the greater the life expectancy of the drive, also the larger capacity drives are a little faster. These drives are durable, portable just all around cool! They work great on both Windows PC's and Macs.

Bought this drive for a specific purpose of using as an external drive for Logic Pro, and the speed is incredible - there is no drop off in performance, at least noticeable on my end, in having all of the extras and working project files on this drive (via sym links). My jaw dropped when I transferred ~40GB (yes, GB) in less than 2 min to this drive (From internal drive). I pair it with the Belkin Thunderbolt 3 Cable which I got on sale at the time since I didn't want to buy more USB C adapters. It's small and light weight, easy to bring around and use when I'm working in Logic!

This is a great external SSD for either your PC or Mac. The only reason why I'm rating it a 4 instead of a 5 is for the pricing. I was able to find a 480 GB Sandisk SSD for nearly the same price; even though its not as small the speed and size won me over. But if you're looking for a fast, supremely portable drive, this is the one for you.

I was really interested in purchasing an external hard drive for all of my photos and videos. I was very skeptable at first as to the write speeds of this device. However, after moving over a 8GB file to this little SSD in almost 20 seconds I knew this was a great device. I highly recommend this to anyone who is transferring files of a rather large size and don't want to sit at there computer for over an hour while doing so. This thing is fast! Also, the built in password encryption is very good.

Product is fast and can take being carried around in my pocket all day. Only problem I have is that the package says it works with a bunch of different devices but they do not include any adaptors to make that possible. For this price thats a big negative.
