I have owned 5 robot vacuums: 2 different Roombas, 2 Neato XV-11 models, and now a Samsung powerBot 7070. Wow, no comparison! The Samsung is very powerful and efficient, and I can't really say that about its predecessors.

We had an older Samsung model and recently moved to a home with a basement. After lugging it up and down the stairs we took advantage of the sale and bought this one for the main floor. First use was on quiet mode and it was relatively quiet but the performance was not up to expectations and we were a little concerned since it is not cheap. Next time we ran it in Turbo and the clouds parted and a bream of light shone through. (There is also a normal mode) Very Happy.

This does not replace a dedicated vacuum but it works surprisingly well. We have ours on a schedule in the middle of the night. When we wake up our first floor is vacuumed welll. Highly recommended!

Overall, an excellent device that cleans well and can be useful in any household. Setup was straightforward and simple. Easy to initiate cleaning. Schedule can be difficult to set up without using the Samsung App. Cleans about 500 sq. Feet before needing a charge. Battery life is okay. Great for pet owners. Easy to clean. I have not owned any other robot vacuums, so this was a new experience.
Quality and set up: Solid feel, heavy but not difficult to pick up. Screen is mediocre. At this level and price point I would expect a better screen that is easier to read. Using the app on your phone will help circumvent this. I was able to get everything out of the box and cleaning within 10 minutes. I did not initially set up with app, but that took about 20-30 minutes. Not super difficult, but takes a little time to get going, nothing unusual there. It takes a little getting used to the understanding of how things work and using the remote, but not bad overall. Setting the schedule requires effort when using the remote, much more simple on the app.
Cleaning: Does an excellent job at cleaning. The areas covered are cleaned well and thorough. I probably used it three times it 12 hours in the same areas. I did back to back cleaning of the same area to see how well it performed. The second cleaning did not pick up nearly as much as the first, a good sign! I have a long hair dog who happened to be shedding their coat. Wow this little vacuum did a great job and no tangles! The brush and dust bin cleaned out very easily. It cleans edges thoroughly with it edge detection and spends extra time cleaning edges.
Coverage: It does a great job with its coverage of cleaning areas with some slight flaws. The vacuum goes over all areas thoroughly and if it goes "off course" it goes back to its original area to make sure nothing is missed. For example, when cleaning the kitchen, it neared a corner and run, which caused it to alter its uniform cleaning. I was convinced it would miss a large segment. However, it cleaned that area, tracked back to the missed segment, and then continued on its route. Very impressive. This vacuum does a great job. The only exception, which may improve over time or on a schedule, was missed areas on cleaning routes. It would clean my dining room, kitchen, and continue to another living area, while completely skipping an room next to the dining area. I noticed this in other areas too. Obviously this device cannot really replace regular, periodic cleaning. However, I hope this will improve.
Charging/Battery: Comes with a docking station to charge device. the battery lasts a less than an hour on normal. There are quiet and turbo modes that will effect battery life as well. I don't care for how long it lasts. It cleans a pretty large area in one charge and that I am happy with. I think the battery life could be better, but its not terrible. Each time the battery ran out, it stopped in place. It did not return to the dock on its own. Very disappointing. I used the button on the remote to command it back to the dock, which does take quite some time whether its close to the station or not. I even picked it up placed it within 5 feet of the station, and it still took some time to dock. I do not if software updates will improve this, but I really hope it does. It's not much of a robot vacuum if it cannot dock efficiently. It will probably require hardware improvements in future models since I am fairly certain the dock and vacuum don't have efficient communication.
Miscellaneous: Comes with two washable filters. Has boundaries markers to keep devices from water, flames, edges, etc. The vacuum itself does an excellent job keeping from falling off edges. However, for the sake of safety and caution, the boundary markers are available.

A very simple to use product. The camera and program reaches all the areas of the floor adequately. The edge design improves coverage and the battery life covers a large area during use.

I was sceptical of the navigation on any robot vacuum with how my house is laid out. This device has no issues getting around the house. My only negative comment stems from a positive, this little guy does so well picking dust and hair up that it needs a bigger bin for it all (suggestion for future models). But all you have to do is be diligent in cleaning the bin in between sweeps. Love the device, extremely happy with it.

It’s a great cleaner, easy to set up an use. My only draw back is that It fills up quickly and will then return to base to be emptied. Not the greatest with pet hair.

Love this vacuum!!! Works great, is better at mapping our home and doing so in an orderly manner instead of random circles. We have pets and kids and chose this so that it will clean near walls and edges. Works great. I do wish it had a larger collection bin.

Other than having to be sure it has a clear floor - not always easy in our house it works well. It does a good job - better if it doesn't have to go around multiple chair legs.

I did a lot of research from consumer reports to pcmag.com and google review of which product to get and what worked best. I wanted a robot vacuum that didn't brush things around but that worked like a normal vacuum and sucked things up. This was rated the highest against all the others and this powerbot was tested against dyson 360 eye and romba and neatos and more. So far after one test run and last nights full run ,I woke up this morning to a very noticeable difference and a cleaner carpet and a full canister packed with dog hair. I have a lot of dog hair and I looked at our floors this morning up close and I saw nothing and all the dog hair was gone. It has 3 suction levels even though it advertises 2 and its quiet, normal. max. Now max is a little loud and normal is moderate and quiet is pretty quiet. I used normal on a midnight cleaning while we were asleep and heard nothing and we weren't awaken by a banging up against the door or anything. It does have a mind of its own and it tries its best to do a straight formation but it makes sure to go back and get everywhere it missed. I so far 1 day in would highly recommend this vacuum to anyone looking for a smart vacuum. It works great with our Alexa and does great spot clean and the only complaint I had was the remote and app wifi setup which i had to do twice as it kept timing out on the app during setup. This is a great dog hair cleaner and we have both long hair dogs (lab/ terrier) and I would say you do need to pick up some things, which is common sense and shag rugs blah blah blah but that is all.

Great robot vacuum, if you're willing to work w it

Let me start by saying I've had a Neato Signature Pro XV before, so I've had experience with robot vacuums. It needs to be said that robot vacuums require some work and dealing with a few headaches, but in my opinion, the learning curve is worth it in the end. Ask yourself this question: would I rather move some furniture and pick up a few things ahead of time or spend my time vacuuming the house myself? It sounds like a silly question, because when you are moving furniture or picking up items off the floor in order to allow the vacuum room to operate you'll ask yourself "why go through all of this trouble? It's the same amount of work as vacuuming everything myself" But in the end, you have to move the same furniture and items off the floor and put them back.
And just know there's some growing pains, you'll find the vacuum unable to get to a certain spot, or might get tripped up over a cable, etc. It might get stuck in a particular room because the door isn't always open. Go in with an open mind, and each time it runs see what works and what doesn't. Once you figure out how you need to leave your house so that your vacuum will run when you're gone, there's nothing better.
With that aside, this Samsung vacuum is amazing. It's significantly quieter than my Neato vacuum (although if you're home, you're still going to hear it) and it's 2 as powerful. My vacuum can go through the entire first floor of my house on one charge. My Neato had to charge 2-3 times. The dust bin is easy to take out and empty. The vacuum has a low profile and could get under my coffee and side tables. I really like the digital screen, the buttons look confusing (i.e. you should read the instruction manual), as it tells you the battery status and the mode it's operating in.
I did personally have a few issues of the vacuum not finding its way back home, but that doesn't always happen and I can't explain it. As I said, robot vacuums are work and aren't as simple as plugging in and hitting "start." You have to be conscious where you put it and where you're going to use it. It doesn't replace my stick vacuum, there's still areas where only a handheld device can reach, but the compliment each other. The Samsung robot vacuum does save me considerable time in the long run. And this model in particular performs admirably.
It comes with a remote, which I use just to hit "start" and "stop." In full disclosure I haven't used the app to control it; I already have about 6 home automation apps on my phone and Samsung wasn't one of them and I just didn't want to have another one on my phone. So I can't comment on the app interface/usability.
I will say that another consideration to be mindful of is the placement of the charging base. The vacuum necessarily needs to be out in the open to operate. And it needs to be near an outlet, and while the cable is plenty long, I find it unsightly. Plus there's a large power brick that sticks out like a sore thumb and the vacuum always seems to run over it (as in, it comes off the base, turns to the side and runs up towards the wall and hits the wire). I ended up placing the power brick on top of the base and have had pretty good success at keeping the vacuum away and reducing sightly cable clutter.

Was going to to for the IRobot 960 but they were backordered and purchased upon recommendation of salesperson. Works well on our hardwood floors that get covered with dog hair from our golden retriever. In general it will get most locations but will miss areas under chairs and tables if it detects the legs. Will eventually work it’s way around the house into even our small half bath and laundry room. The only issue or complaint I have is in normal power mode it is rather loud and you can’t listen to the tv when it’s running because it’s surprisingly loud
