I was one of the ones that transitioned over to ADT SmartThings from Iris. Pairing this door and window sensor to the system is a breeze. Simply scan the QR code on the sticker and you’re good to go. I had 22 devices to add and only one gave me trouble.
If you run into issues, that’s where things may get sticky. Attempting to re-pair a sensor can be lengthy.
Also, this sensor is a bit bulkier for windows. I could not use the magnetic piece on my double hung windows as it was too large. Luckily, I was able to use an old Iris contact pad to replicate the magnet. Consider this if you have double hung windows and want a contact on both sides.
Casement windows are a breeze to put on and are out of sight. Highly recommended!

I ordered a whole bunch of these sensors for doors and windows to add to my Samsung Smart Things system, only to learn they only work with the Samsung's ADT systems. Had to trade them all info for Multipurpose Sensors, which are really more than you need for doors and windows. I think it's just trying to push ADT contracts. And the salesperson info the store told me these would work with my system.

The setup for the Samsung Smart things was simple. The power wire is very long and was hard to hide but I used conduits to run it along the molding.

Sometimes the app gets a little wonky trying to set these things up, but all in all it is a simple process and they work well.

... if you need to unpair it, there aren't great instructions to do so. If you ever have to re-pair one of these, you have to press the button on the front 2x fast followed by holding the button down until the light starts to flash rapidly. That will put it back in pairing mode.

I like that the battery is a standard one that can be bought at any retail store, but I feel like the price is a little high for what I’m getting. I would only get them when they go on sale.

These were dirt cheap because the only work with the ADT version of smart things, which is ridiculous. The cost of the ADT package is way too high. Best Buy returned the product, and it was my mistake for not reading closer. My low rating is based in the fact that it is not a good value, it is confusing to use the Smart Things branding on it when it really only works with ADT, and because it is unnecessarily locked to ADT.

Got smartthings hub from samsung. This Door window alarm works OK.
But, Smartthings items are all overpriced and not as smart as other devices available now. Control system is very rigid, poor user interface. App is not good either.
Monitoring is only by ADT and it costs a lot!

Great Smart security system. I love how it is more then just security with Smart Things. (This does require the ADT Hub)
