Perfect Replacement for Wink Hub 2!

I have a dozen LED lights that I rarely need to dim or change color. Not a power user and I don't use voice commands to operate the lights. The SmartThings Hub quickly located all the lights, I was able to create groups and add each light to its appropriate group and managing them has been easy and straightforward. I liked the Wink, but to pay $5 per month for what I did with it would have been ridiculous. The response time via the app seems faster with the SmartThings than the Wink Hub 2, so that was a plus too.

I moved away from ST for myself, but bought this for family. It does not seem as versatile as the V2 hub, but is still pretty easy to set up. Only put about 6 devices on it to start, but they paired pretty well. I did have a couple of Z-Wave locks that I tried to move from the V2, but there was an issue with getting them working. They also would not go back to the V2 hub afterwards. I hope this was a fluke.

Needed a device to connect Baldwin electronic door locks to my Google home setup. Set up automation to auto lock at night and morning just in case doors left unlocked. Seems to work but wished i would have simply purchased Nest door locks instead of staying with Baldwin like the rest of the home. z-wave OK but extra Samsung app and this device needed and I have no other z-wave devices in my home.

I bought this to replace the Wink system I had since they went to a monthly subscription model. It was easy to set up all of my devices except a couple of Cree smart bulbs could not connect. Also, the Wink system had much better integration with my Schlage lock - I could add new codes and set vacation mode from the Wink app. The Samsung just allows you to lock/unlock. For the price, a good system.

Purchased the Samsung unit after my Wink stopped working a week before their new pricing strategy was to go into effect. Easy to install, has excellent range and seems to play nicely with all of my existing devices except for my Carrier thermostat. Bargain priced compared to my old hub. App is so so from a graphics interface but I expect it will improve over time. Overall happy with the purchase.

I replaced another hub which was having constant issues. The Samsung SmartThings Hub is priced well and was relatively simple to set up. I had some issues with certain smart devices, but often that is due to the vagaries of each manufacturer's devices. Physically this hub is small and unobtrusive, otherwise there's not much to say about a hub, is there? It connects smart devices and allows them to operate throughout your home. Nothing fancy, it should just work, and this does!

Was an early adapter of all things home automation. Past hubs include Wink, previous generation SmartThings and others. This 3rd generation was the easiest of Hubs to get going with some pretty amazing integration features. I reside in a large two story home with lots of diving walls and equally large outdoor entertainment areas. I was able to connect all lighting, sound, security.... with ease. The programming is quite easy and the intuitiveness like Alexa is constantly improving.

It started off a little rocky as I thought I could hook it up to my network wirelessly. After trying a few times, I gave up and just plugged it into my router via an ethernet cable. After I did that, everything worked out fine. I do see some of my "things" go offline from time to time. They normally come back at some point on their own and it's usually not a long time. It's definitely not the distance for these things, as some of them are in the same small room. I don't know if it's the hub or the things themselves at this point. That's more of an inconvenience than anything else. I'm using several z-wave devices and it seems the more of them you have around the house, the better the system works. It seems to sync up pretty quick with google home. There are two versions of the smartthings app on IOS. I have both of them installed. It seems the newer one is better for adding devices and the older one is better for naming them and adding them to google home. Voice commands on these devices work well with google too.

I bought the Samsung SmartThings hub because my Wink version 1 was starting to work unreliably. So far I'm quite happy with the SmartThings hub. It was pretty easy to set up and it has been working very reliably. I've placed it high on top of a cabinet in a central room in my house and it reaches all devices in my 2400 sq ft house. I even have a smart sprinkler switch outside of the house which has also been switching on/off reliably. I would recommend this smart hub.

I purchased a new electronic door lock which had the capability to be controlled remotely. What I did not know is that I needed a Hub to Control it. After many hours of scouring Online Reviews, I ended up purchasing the Smarthings Hub. So glad I did. Set-up was just too easy. I ended up buying the Light Control, and now I can lock, unlock doors and turn lights on and off from wherever I am. Love It!

Ever since Wink asked for a monthly fee, I purchased and switched over to this hub. Very satisfied and found this app to be much faster and more responsive than Wink. The fact they don’t ask for a monthly fee is a plus. The Wink system lacked a iPad app which this has. So far, no issues and works great!

I've enjoyed the hub and the accessories I've purchased so far. For the most part I haven't had any issues. Once I did have a problem connecting a multi-purpose sensor, but just had to reset it. The biggest frustration is more so around the software. I use two multi-purpose sensors for my garage doors and while I set them up in the new SmartThings app, I have to use the classic SmartThings app to set it as a garage door sensor.

I bought this when Wink decided that they were going to start requiring a subscription. This works well, and it set up easily. Overall, the entire SmartHome landscape is a bit of a Wild West, so I still have multiple other accounts that I link to this hub for control from one interface. Would be really nice if it could control everything natively

For years I have used Lowe's IRIS system which I loved. However, they discontinued that system so I moved to smart things. I went with this HUB, the newest, and love it. It has less functionality than the older HUB but it is quickly gaining ground and is better for the future. It has worked flawlessly as a security system, and I expect more functionality as Samsung provides upgrades. Also is awesome for home automation tasks, light control, HVAC control. pool pump, and more.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I switched to this from Wink because Wink started charging a monthly fee. Most my switches and smart home stuff works as well there, but not the Wink branded siren and Wink brand smart panel. Also, I need to buy a Lutron hub whereas Wink could control Lutron Caseta out of the box.
Integration with other brands is descent. I was able to control my Nest stuff with Wink, but only because it was grandfathered in. I can't with this and new users wouldn't be able to with Wink either. (Savvy users can find work-arounds with IFTTT). Also, can't get Chamberlain MyQ to work with this.
The ability to control both Z-wave and Zigbee is good. Adding devices is about as intuitive as other hubs. Setting up rooms, scenes and automatons is a bit tedious but simple. The app takes longer to load than I'd like. When I use Alexa or Google Assistant to control devices, they seem to respond quicker than they did through Wink.
The new Smartthings app does NOT have an Apple Watch app, which is a bummer. I don't bother using classic.
I have done more research since this purchase and I am considering getting Vera or Hubitat and perhaps making the switch to one of those, but not sure yet.
Smartthings is probably the most simple way to get into smart home cheaply and on your own, but is limiting for complex setups and advance users.
