Bought this Sandisk SSD to back up everything on my PC and movies I filmed using a Canon HD camcorder. Work fine, and it has a way of setting your password so nobody can see your items you backed up. Good show. I can recommend to everyone.

This great little portable SSD has a very high storage amount and also a safety data lock feature in the software. It's tiny, thin and uses USB. Great way to keep files and it has a large enough capacity to use as a back up. Solid state so it's secure and durable. I like the minimal design too.

The 480 GB SanDisk Extreme 500 USB 3.0 drive is great for photo storage. It was plenty fast to handle my review of thousands of photos taken at each sporting event. The cable is short, but I found that I preferred that to the longer cable for my other external SSD. Also, the size of the SanDisk Extreme 500 series is smaller and thinner than an external SSD and it has a built-in loop to use for attaching it to a backpack or other storage areas.

Love the physical size of this SSD hard drive for my on the go needs. Can store lots of files and being SSD HD, I don't have to worry about dropping the HD. Fast access (USB 3) so can playback movies from it just fine too. So small that it fits in one's pockets or bag easily.

No moving parts to break down..tons of storage and so fast. Slim and light. I love it.

This product was easy to use--plug and play--and seems to be saving everything accurately and quickly. This is a solid state device, and so the cost is more than in a hard drive with moving parts. My only question has to do with how long it will last, because that is all I really care about, as I use it for backing up photographs. They claim these solid state devices are going to last longer. I hope it is so

I am happy with purchase. It is small and fast, as are all SSD. I went this way because I have had too many external hard drives fail. SanDisk products have always been reliable for me.

Extremely fast solid-state HDD. Small enough to store away for the laptop. Only small concern is the connector. It seems extremely fragile. Only time and usage will tell. It is expensive as compared to the capacity of a mechanical portable HDD. Doesn't seem to get warm at all during heavy usage. A little concerned of life expectancy. Again, time will tell.

My wife has a surface book which is awesome but we didn't spend a lot on memory storage. So, this was a perfect accessory. I couldn't believe the price for something this fast, reliable and compact. She just keeps this in her computer bag and she never has to worry about memory or speed.

Overall this is a great product for backing up your lightweight laptop. Although not the largest for capacity or cheapest, compared to a HDD it is definitely the smallest and fastest. Hardware wise this is a 5+ star. Only issue is that the software for backup is not as good as Western Digitals. I went with the upgrade software for much better encryption. Overall would definitely recommend.

Everything I had hope for. Light weight, very portable, Perfect for keeping my Audio recordings safe and takes up very little space, did I mention lighting fast. very affordable. Should have bought two.

Sandisk knows what they're doing with flash memory. This drive is fast, it's light, it's perfect for carrying extra memory around. It's big enough not to lose it like a thumb drive, but small and light enough that you can store it anywhere.

This external SSD is blazing fast and very lightweight. Its enclosure is a lot smaller that it looks in the pictures but still feels solid and rugged. Good buy!

This drive is small, fast and, with no moving parts, it gives me peace of mind that my old rotating drives don't give me. My only regret is not buying 2 while they were on sale.

This thing is fast. USB3 really shines here. If you need simple, fast storage in your pocket, look no further. Note, you CANNOT boot a computer from this device.

the fact that it is USB 3 and holds so much data is a real plus and it's size is awesome. I use this as my storage device for my lap top and love it.

Great amount of storage for the price. Compact size and decent speed. It would be nice if it was USB C.

Fantastic, fast and small. I use this to run windows 7 in a VM Fusion on a 15" mac book pro, works great !

On paper my pci-e internal ssd is faster... I haven't run any benchmarks so I won't comment on the technical side. However, I use this external ssd to store my current FCPX project while I'm in the editing phase and it doesn't slow my workflow at all. Shame on Apple for charging so much by the Gb for storage, thank you Sandisk for offering this!

The product is thin and very light. Not so big. It ran fast transferring the photos and videos.
