Great device. Nice for transferring video files from SD cards to external hard drives, which is my primary use for it.

Overall an excellent docking station. Solid construction, plenty of inputs and dead silent. I have come across a few significant issues. I currently have 3 ports being used on this device and the gigabyte ethernet port. Unfortunately my 1Gb ethernet connection caps out at around 600Mb/s when using the station vs connecting via a dongle. Would like to have a power button, but not a deal breaker. When using my Blue Pro Mic, it sometimes loses the connection and doesn't see the device again unless i reboot the laptop.

Not bad. I give it 5 stars because it's reliable, sleek, has a ton of ports. I like the look of it and I like how it fits well with the rest of my desk. I use it for an M1 Mac mini. We all know the two thunderbolt connectors will not suffice so I had to do what was necessary to expand my ports. I'm glad this hub has a lot of ports to utilize. The SD card reader is a plus. Kinda wish it had an HDMI output so I can reduce using ports on the Mac mini though.

Seems like it does what it should but I don’t get why they put the power adaptor and computer link port on opposite sides ? Makes it look messy when you have to keep wires plugged in both the front and back at the same time for it to work.

I just bought a MacBook Pro M1 Max which has 3 Thunderbolt 4 ports so I needed a breakout box to take advantage of it and it fits the bill. The Thunderbolt 4 ports are fully backwards compatible with earlier standards. There are three USB 3.2 ports which works well except for charging devices. If I plug in my iPhone Into anyone of those I’ll get a error message on my MacBook to the effect of “please remove the USB device that’s using too much power” You can also plug into the designated USB charging port in the back of the unit too. But there’s only one port for that. You can alleviate this somewhat by buying a USB C to lighting connector.Plugging in a USB bus powered SSD external SSD works fine. I’m also able to connect to an external monitor using a USB C to display port cable with no problem. There’s a built in RJ45 with 1Gb line speed and it works great! So all in all, it a spendy device to be sure, but if you need fast connectivity this checks most of you boxes.

Excellent dock for Thunderbolt 3/4 machines

This is an excellent Thunderbolt 4 dock.
I am using it with a 2020 Core i5 Macbook Pro (4 TB3 ports), a 2020 M1 Macbook Pro(2 TB3 ports), and an 2021 M1 Pro Macbook Pro (3 TB4 ports) along with dual monitors (BenQ EW3280U USB C and LG 38WN95C Thunderbolt 3).
The 2020 M1 Macbook Pro with 2 TB3 ports can only support one external monitor, so make sure you realize this dock WILL NOT give you dual monitor support for the 2020 M1 chip based Macs.
The dock performs flawlessly - I have the Logitech MX Master for Mac mouse and MX Keys for Mac keyboard along with a single Unifying dongle and my Mac wakes from sleep running Monterey 12.0.1 without issue. The other docks I have tried had various issues - Sonnet Tech 11 Echo TB4, CalDigit TS3+, OWC TB4 dock. This Satechi runs cooler than the other TB4 docks I have tried as well. The 1GBe Realtek 8153 port has a built in driver in MacOS and works well. I also have a Jabra 380 USB C dongle that works in the third TB4 port from this dock which makes it easy to switch computers with just a single cable.
Finally, I also use the CalDigit Element Hub TB4 dock daisychained to this dock and they work together without issue.
I would highly recommend this dock to anyone looking for a Thunderbolt 4 solution - it is backwards compatible and has worked with everything I connected to it.

Works great for MacBooks.
Doesn't seem to work 100% for Lenovo Thinkpad with Thunderbolt but seems to have some issues with USB-C display adapters connected to it (and getting video signals) -- same USB-C adapter connecting directly to Thinkpad would work.
As far as Macs, confirmed working with MacBook Pro 16 M1, MacBook Air M1, MacBook Air M2, MacBook Pro (intel) 15 and 13, Mac Studio Ultra M1.

Excellent. No latency on attached monitors. Wakes up very quickly. Doesn't heat up. Provides maximum versatility with the multiple Thunderbolt 4 ports capable of driving multiple monitors. Has a USB 2.0 port for wireless keyboard dongles, and 3 traditional USB-A ports. Only minor gripe is that the input port from the computer is on the front of the dock, as is the 3.5 mm audio out jack, thus increasing the effective footprint of the dock. Also there's no way to mount the dock vertically if so desired. Still all in all the best USB-C dock for Macs, Intel and Apple Silicone/M1 alike (tested on both). I have previously owned the Caldigit TS3 Plus, and while a very capable and popular dock, this Satechi is certainly an improvement to account for advancing computer and monitor technology. FYI, if you only have HDMI/Displayport monitors, you should be able to get a cheap dongle online that converts the Thunderbolt output ports to either of the above and still preserves 4k, 60 Hz, HDR, etc. Also FYI, M1 Pro/M1 Max/Intel Macs will be limited to driving a maximum of 2 external monitors along with the built in display. M1 macs other than the Mac Mini can only drive 1 external display along with the built in display. This is a limitation inherent to Macs (not the dock), and is present across all dock products when used with Apple computers.

I was excited to receive this device and expand my laptop's capabilities while giving me just a single plug to deal with when docking the computer. Unfortunately, the tech just isn't there, yet.
Right after setting it up, I had to jump on a Zoom meeting, and with a camera, secondary screen (via USB-C) and ethernet running through the hub, my meeting was a disaster of delay. As soon as I routed everything around the Satechi, all was fine.
After the meeting, I tested it out again, and things seemed to be working. But later, after I'd unplugged it once, the touchscreen inexplicably wouldn't work on my secondary monitor. Again, I cut out the Satechi, and all was fine.
Maybe this would be good for a more-casual user, but it's awfully expensive to be so limited. Very disappointed and will be returning it.

Just plugged this into my Lenovo Pro X12 and it ran two monitors, a webcam, a high-speed scanner, a Logitech unifying receiver, and some usb charging cables. Everything works perfectly, and the device does not run hot. Very satisfied with this purchase.

I did a lot of research before settling on this model, it uses the refernce TB4 Hub that many other similar devices have, but what they don't have is the 96w laptop charging as well as a solid 15w on the other thunderbolt ports, as well as great build quality, for $250 on sale. You don't get much more functionality out of the ones that can cost up to 400.
Most importantly, the amount of similar devices that get reviews saying that the connections are flaky or don't respond to sleep/wake commands or have other quirks is too high. This one just works in my experience.

I wasn't familiar with the brand so I was hesitant to buy this, but I gave it a try since I could return it. I'm glad I bought it. The build quality is really great and all ports work very well. I do wish it had a dedicated HDMI or DisplayPort port though, but the back usbc ports can be used for video out.

As I write this, I have a heavy duty laptop plugged into only a cooling mat, my mouse dongle, my second monitor and the Satechi. I only have to unplug two cords and my laptop is mobile. I'm thrilled. The Satechi is powering my laptop & charging my phone as well. If I bought an adapter for my second monitor, it could also be only attached to the Satechi. Couldn't be happier. No more messing with cord after cord to get on the go.

I received the Satechi TB4 dock and it has been working flawlessly with my 2021 14" MacBook Pro. I had immediate issues waking/sleeping the computer & my external monitors with the CalDigit TS3 plus and ports randomly falling asleep. The Satechi dock has none of these issues. Wish I had read about TB4 more carefully, as waking/sleeping devices is actually one of the things that was improved over TB3. I'll give an update if issues come up with this dock, but I'll be returning my TS3 Plus and keeping the Satechi. I only wish I had grabbed this back in December when it was on sale for $250. I would highly recommend the Satechi to anyone here experiencing issues with the CalDigit TS3 Plus.

With Satechi's Thunderbolt 4 Dock, I'm connected my older USB Type-A hard drives and accessories to my iMac M1. It looks slick with great build quality. Only negative is the connection for the computer is on the front.
