Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention how the Type-C Aluminum Stand and Hub enhances their Mac Mini and Mac Studio experience. They appreciate the variety and number of ports, particularly the SD card port and front port extension for USB. The hub's design is also praised for its seamless fit and compact size. While most customers are pleased with the product, a few express dissatisfaction with the color options not matching their devices.

Pros: Sturdy and well-made construction Compact and space-saving design Elegant aluminum finish Easy to use and install Provides a variety of connectivity options Supports fast data transfer speeds Built-in air vents help to regulate temperature Cons: The price is a bit high The stand is not adjustable The USB-C port is not Thunderbolt 3 My Take: I am very happy with the Satechi Type-C Aluminum Stand and Hub. It is a great way to add extra connectivity to my Mac Mini and it looks great doing it. The only real downside is the price, but I think it is worth it for the quality and features that you get. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a way to expand the connectivity of their Mac Mini. It is a well-made and versatile product that will last for years to come.

The perfect hub for your Mac Mini

This simple dock/hub makes the most of a single usb c plug on your Mac mini and opens up for more ports on the front of you Mac for usb a and b as well as an additional SD and micro SD slots. It’s simple design make it fit right underneath your Mac mini and it looks like it was part of the computer all along. Save yourself the mess dongle or hub with this simple setup is a great addition to any Mac mini user.

Great Addition to 2023 Mac Mini M2

Great addition to Mac Mini M2. Added USB in the front is a must for copying photos to USB thumbdrive, my wirelsee keyboard dongle, and leaving rear ports on back of Mac for back up drives. Was not really worried about speed as noted by some reviewers. I looked at convience more than performance. Would have preferred getting the Silver finish, but BB did not offer. Space Grey is a bit of a contrast but compliments the Silver Mac Mini and black desk. One note, for some reason the SD card inserts upside down, contact side up. Not sure if this is by design or a manufacturing error. I am going to try and contact Satechi about this and will update review if I get a response. The other ports are a bit snug so be careful when inseting, but hopefully they will get better after use. If yoi don't need internal storage save yourself $20 and buy this one over the other Satechi dock with built in hard drive space. I already had a 1 TB external drive for Time Machine and data backup.

    Works with M1 Mac Mini

I got this for my new 2020 M1 Mac Mini, largely for the SD card slots and the headphone jack on the front. The extra USB ports on the front are just icing on the cake. I like the contrast between the Space Gray / Black of this hub and the silver of the M1. The headphone jack does support headsets with microphone, so is ever so much more convenient to be able to leave the speakers plugged in on the back, and use the front one for when I need headset.

This is a great addition to my Mac mini. It gives me ports that are not on the Mac mini, and it is only half the height of the mac mini.

APPLE TAKE NOTES FOR NEW MINI!

If you have a Mac mini, this product is a no brainer. Only thing that is a down point of my Mac mini is all the ports in the back. This also adds SD and micro SD readers on the front that the Mac mini does not have. The only downside I could see is if you are trying to save maximum space this adds about an inch of height. For me like I said this is a no brainer and I hope apple takes some notes for the new Mac mini redesign.

Works well, I notice that it gets hot if you leave a USB Stick in it and the Mac mini is in sleep mode. I'm trying to find out why this is happening. I now have the unit sitting above the mini on the desktop stand to keep the heat away from the Mini. Other than the heat issue it works great and mounts USB and SD cards fast.

Since the Mac Mini only has limited connection points , this docking station is a perfect addition to allow the user three additional USB ports, one small SD and one large SD card reader ports, headphone jack and one additional Apple port. It is economical and very easy to set-up.

I appreciate the extra ports, but the USB C port on the front does not connect to my iPhone. I had to use the port in the back which was a hassle. It does charge my other devices (magic mouse and track pad), but apparently is not the right wattage to charge or connect to my iPhone. Other than that, I'm happy with it.

This is a great add-on for the Mac Mini M1! The fit and function are perfect! I do wish that Best Buy carried the version in silver(I don't care, but my wife wants one and she wants it to match the color of the Mac mini). I also wish that they carried the version with built in housing for M2.0 SSD drive. But this is what they have and I'm happy with it(I'll just have to find one in silver somewhere for my wife). It does what it supposed to do and I am very happy with my purchase!

A seemless hub to you Mac Mini products that works

A good-looking Hub and stand for the Mac mini series. Company does not do a good job in showing the differences in the color of the aluminum style. This one must match the intel-based ones from previous years. It did not perfectly match the color of an M1 Mac Mini, but does perfectly match the dimensions. We did end of having an issue with the SD card reader not spring loading anymore, but the manufacturer did an excellent job of getting us another one under warranty. They made it quite easy, although easier exchanges/ RMAs have been done with other, larger companies' products.

The Satechi type c aluminum stand and hub for Apple Mac mini 2018 works with the 2020 M1 very well. My only qualm with this hub is that the usb c port can only charge my M1 iPad Pro (due to power requirements I’ve been told), not transfer data. It works well with my iPhone 12, however. Overall I highly recommend this hub!

This is an amazing add-on for mac mini owners who need an SD card port and front port extension for USB. I plan on upgrading from my Mac Mini M1 to M2 or M3, and I'd like to keep using this product. The SD card is one of the most helpful features as I edit photos a lot.

This dock looks great and does what it is supposed to, but it lacks proper shielding. Plugging in USB 3 devices cause interference with Bluetooth and other 2.4GHz wireless devices like my mouse. I've had to adjust where things get plugged in ( dock, monitor, mac) to get a working balance.
