This is a absolute must have. Looks amazing in 4K, and the best it will ever look. The limited edition is the way to go, you also get the original 1932 version newly restored on Blu-ray. All around a fantastic package!

-Feature:
One that I never get tired of watching for many factors. The storyline, drama, action, 80s synths soundtrack, score, performances, betrayal, emotions, a message & the search for a broken dream. Worth the buy & upgrade!
Pros:
-Picture; HDR 10 that looked impressive.
-Sound; DTS:X was not as heavy as I would’ve liked but there was a handful of immersive scenes during shots & overhead effect when the helicopters hovered over the highway in the opening scenes. An upgrade from the previous 7.1
-Digital Copy; Yes, only 4K HDR but no immersive sound.
-Slipcover; No.
Cons:
-Digital Copy; limited.
-Gear used for sound & visuals:
LG 65’ C6P 4k/3D passive OLED (manually calibrated)
9.2 Onkyo RZ + pre amp for 7.2.4/11.2 (integrated calibrated then manually tweeted with SPL sound level meter & balance/adjust for full dynamic range)
Klipsch P-REF towers
center
sides
rears
& dual R112SW subs
Polk Audio MC80 8’ quad in-ceiling heights
Oppo 4K UDP-203
Monster cables: Premium Black Platinum HDR HDMIs, THX Audio RCA, Digital Subwoofer Cables & Fiber Optic Ultra 1000
Monoprice 14 gauge awg copper speaker wire
Nakamichi Speaker Plugs
Auralex Acoustic Isolation platforms

Perfect way to start the new year. Also includes 1932 original Scarface. Visually stunning and digitally pristine. Audio surround and effects make this one a great addition to your collection (especially in 5.1 or 7.1.2).

Upgrade From Standard BD

Definitely a worthy upgrade over the standard blu-ray disc but grain haters may not be satisfied. Yes, picture grain is present and should be expected given this feature was shot 36 years ago on 35 mm film. The UHD transfer is nonetheless beautiful with grain only distracting in isolated scenes (outdoors and panning shots mainly). Fine details (skin textures and clothing) are rendered admirably and justify the upgrade over the standard BD. Tony’s facial scar is of particular note. HDR highlights pop with the neon lights of the Miami nightlife and the over saturated early 80’s color palette we all know and love. The only nitpick is comparing Scarface to the recent UHD release of The Shining. The transfer of The Shining exhibits inevitable film grain; but also displays a slightly cleaner presentation with a more nuanced grain management than Scarface. The DTS X sound mix is lively and active on my 11.2 channel setup. Gunfire and particularly the soundtrack both have serious weight and essence. Dialogue is clear and you won’t be reaching for your remote to adjust the volume based on the scene. All in all Scarface Gold Edition UHD is a strong transfer and a worthy upgrade for all but the most demanding videophiles.

Classic Movie

Although this movie is not what your life should be about. This is a classic movie that was a representative of a particular aspect of the Miami area. It displays the rise and fall of the obsession of money and power. This movie is based in the Miami area But the majority of the movie was filmed in California due to the heavy protesting by the Cubans in Miami. They felt the movie was providing a negative persona to their existence in the Miami area. If you haven’t seen it this a must see but it is not a family night movie. If you have seen it and own it, and don’t have the 4K version. Then you must buy the 4K version for a awesome quality to a true classic feature movie!

I’ve always been a fan of Scarface since I was a kid and remember owning it on DVD way before blue ray was a thing. I even owned the PlayStation 2 game that came out with it and now with this remastered version it’s so much better for the fanatic of this movie. Greatest Al Pacino movie hands down and to own the little statue collectible is even plus! Very nice little replica. The ultimate experience for a fan and not to mention this edition comes with the original 1932 Scarface movie remastered as well.

As a fan of film, we want the best video and audio quality possible for our movies, and Universal does just that with Scarface on 4K Blu-ray.
The video quality is superb, with film grain intact, vibrant colors, appearing to be as close as possible to the original camera negative.
The audio is loud and clear, and will sound as if you're watching it in theaters with plenty of bass and crystal clear dialog.
This is an awesome release. Definitely worth buying.

I have bought this movie multiple times when different editions came out, but the fact of owning a 4k version was something I could not pass up. There is something about these upgrades from older films that stick out. The rendering is amazing. If you don't own this movie and you want to see what all of the hype is about then get the 4k version.

I am a late bloomer to the film. I watched it the first time on Netflix like a year or so ago. I was blown away by it. I knew I had to addScarface to my collection. Once I found out it was being released on 4k, I decided to grab it during the Christmas season. I like the idea of all these classics being transferred to 4k!

A nice little replica piece from the film near the end of the movie. “THE WORLD IS YOURS” is a little reminder of the process Tony M. Went through to get himself where he was. It can also be a personal motivator seeing it on a desk! The film looks cleaner, still but less grainier than the Blu-ray and the audio is just splendid. A must have for collectors!!

This film is a lot of fun and that is all that can be said. Can't take it literally or seriously and after 35 years has become basically a cult classic, for which I agree. Totally violent, vulgar and tasteless, this film about a Miami drug lord, is just what you expect. Pacino is quite good, and Brian DePalma's direction certainly helps, but don't take it for more than it's worth. Today it's just a throwback to times when this type of material was shocking. Today it can be considered laughable and silly. But enjoy for what it is, and if you do, I think it's a worthy purchase and a throwback to some crazy, but ultimately satisfying filmmaking.

The picture quality is great to this classic movie. A lot of cool features not seen before in other Scarface releases such as deleted scenes and many more. "The World is Yours Statue" stands close to 10 inches tall and makes for a great display as a reminder your love for Scarface and that the world is yours!
