Local Store Manager Helped When Another Drive DOA

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had purchased another drive, not Seagate, which was DOA, but I had not opened the box until more than a year. Store manager Peter said he could not replace original drive, that I had to deal with manufacturer, but he offered to help out on what was in store. Inventory was depleted. This Backup Plus was only 4TB drive available. Got a small discount for all my trouble. Windows recognizes this drive instantly, but Linux does not. No Linux drivers, not even in USB 2 mode. Linux did recognize a 10 year old Hitachi USB 2 drive.
