Not much to say about a basic product like this however, Seagate should have put some directions in the box on how to initialize the drive. I guess they assume that if one is installing the hard drive then one knows the steps in the process. After initialization there was one more step which was not apparent in that I needed to format the disc. It would have been nice if the Seagate wizard would have done that step automatically, but it did not. I only figured it out after poking around the machine and internet for a while.

Great internal SATA drive for RAID volume. I currently use this drive with other similar drives and it works well for basic RAID operation and function.

I picked this one up elsewhere back in January of this year, but these seem to have a problem where the life expectancy can be less than a year or maybe to the MFG's warranty period if you are lucky. Read speeds were 32kb/s at the worst case. My system began to lock up and even crashed because of it.
I've got drives from almost a decade back that are just BARELY now starting to show signs of dying, but they all outlasted this thing.
Trying to get this faulty thing to Seagate for warranty filing, but all things considered, I've never had a hard drive fail like this one has. Not so soon after buying it.
Stick with the 1TB & 2TB models, they at least act like they'll last a year, hopefully longer.
