Sometimes with tech things just don’t work... this has been a pleasant experience. I was fill with such joy to plug this into my PS4. The PlayStation expanded the space I could use and just works. Haven’t had any issues. It does need power from the outlet. Which wasn’t a big deal for me, I’m not planning to ever move it.

Love the Seagate drives. We buy a lot of them and they are super good. They rarely fail and it's usually to physical damage we caused.

8tb of data space all on one drive awesome. Great product. Seagate hard drives used to suck. In the past few years they have turned it around . Now when I look for drives I see what they have first. Same size as before

Perfect for what it is. Tons of space. Low cost. Slick design. Unfortunately the reliability of any drive, especially ones with their own power adapters, isn't 100%. Any unexpected shut off of the computer, or loss of power in general could really hurt the drive. Always "Safely" eject your hardware! I also recommend finding a free hard drive health monitoring software and a backup power supply to be proactive about failing drives and data loss!

Pros: *high capacity hd perfect to store videos for content creators *nice small design *easy to use and install Cons: *makes noticeable noise when computer loads and when it writes data in the drive Overall, I like this drive mainly for the high capacity storage for the price. I just try to ignore the noise it makes when files are being saved on the drive.

It works great with my PS4. The 3.0 usb is very fast and this model is combatable with the new PS5. I Recommend this Item If you own Quite a few AAA Games. I have Over 50 100gb plus games installed at the moment and there is no lag or issues swapping between games. The setup was plug and select the option to format for PS4 and under a minute It was transferring the data from my PS4 to the external hard drive. It is a great buy for the price If your looking to expand your PS4 hard drive as much as possible. 8TB is the max amount of external hard drive space that the PS4 is compatible with. I am not sure about the PS5 but I am sure that this external hard drive will be with you till the PS6 comes out.

Plenty of storage capacity for me to section off for well documented storage; it also has very good transfer speed. There were no setup issues so ease of use was also excellent. Yes, this is definitely a keeper!!!!

Use this almost daily to back-up my files. Anyone not backing up their files are asking for trouble. Should that Gremlin running loose eventually show up on your computer you'll wish you had backed up your files..

My review is a combination of my Seagate 4TB drive, which I bought a few years ago, and this current Seagate 8TB drive, which I have now owned for a few months. Both models look exactly the same, and have performed perfectly. No issues whatsoever, and the speed of transfers is fine. I've been very happy with these external drives, and I'd say this is a solid purchase!

This item make storing and transferring items super easy and super fast. For the price transfer rate and space cant be beat! Definitely suggest purchasing this one over other models in its range. Also if your thinking of a little lower storage... Upgrade to this one you wont regret it!

great hard drive, I use this with my PlayStation 4, One thing to take not it is powered by an wall adapter so not really meant to be used for travel

This was very easy to set up on both my Win 7 Machine and a Win 10 machine. Works well and does as expected. Speeds are reasonably fast for an external drive and it is quiet.

I purchased the Seagate - Expansion Desktop 8TB External USB 3.0 Hard Drive for the purpose of storing all my movies. It is simple and easy to work with. Anyone that can use a thumb drive can use this. It doesn't get any easier than this. No frills, nothing extra just storage. Perfect.

Needed additional storage for the music collection and this add a lot! I use it as a storage attached to an NAS and keep my MP3 files of my CD collection as well as my online purchased ones so I can access via a media player, from anywhere! You will need an NAS or some sort of media server to do this like I did for what I needed, this served the purpose very well! I reserve the NAS space for the videos and this unit attached for the photos and audio files. Works great and 8GB for this price is fantastic!

i've used seagate HD's since the 90's. Never had one fail. This one holds a LOT of files. Fast, easy (plug and play) and works great.

This plugged into my Windows 10 workstation and was instantly recognized. I didn't have to do anything special. I use this to back up the server. The only configuration I had to do was change the backup program because this installed as a different drive letter than the last external USB drive. After that, no problems.

I depend on these 8TB Seagate Expansion Desktop drives for my Plex home jukebox content...2+ yrs in and they've been solid performers at a great price. For backup/archiving, might be slower write speeds but when you're dealing w/ 100s of GBs of video, its always a waiting game--what you want is good ROI, which you get here. And no bloatware or auto-sleeps that interfere with serving content.

I am currently using this on a PS4 Pro and it has made an amazing experience of not having to delete and re-download a game again due to not having enough hard drive space. If you don't have the money to buy a (super expensive) SSD internal hard drive, this is the best bang for your buck. 8TB is enough for alot of games. Only downfall is that you need to have a plug dedicated to power this one.

I purchased this specific item because I had great experiences with my last Seagate external hard drive. This one was easy to set up and I liked the amount of storage for the price. My other Seagate is still trucking along, but I am always worried about losing precious family pictures and videos so I went ahead and upgraded to this in order to have yet another place to keep those things safely stored.

Great for external drive for ps4! Ran out of space on 2tb internal hard drive so was looking for external and with the sale on this drive it was a great deal!
