My son loves this scooter, has not been outside yet however the leansteer lower bar has failed just from riding it round the house and I have no idea how to get it replaced, there does not appear to be any parts for sale anywhere for this scooter. It is unsafe to operate with the leansteer being so wobbly now with the structural failure, my son is only 80 lbs.

The additional speed is a plus for large riders. While I am over the capacity at 280, I did try the scooter once. It handled my weight effortlessly. The steering stick is great. All 4 people that tried it, loved it compared to the S. The biggest reason I chose the max was for battery life and speed on the go cart. The max makes the speed of the standard go cart capable of speed up to 23mph. The combo kit with the go cart pro comes with a knee steer. Battery life seems great but we have only had it for a day. This is for my six year old daughter and I limit the speed. There is a youtube video of a 5 year old using the S model without any issue. I purchased the S also since i was concerned with handle bar height being too tall; even with the adjustment. She was intimidated by it at first because of the steer bar height and weight. Now it's the only one she wants to ride. She handles it great. The fact that is doesn't need air for the tires is a plus too; probably not as grippy but we have had no issues while riding in grass. The safety features are good, however you can still wreck. My daughter wears protective gear. The 50lbs of weight isn't an issue for me but is a factor. I will try and get a video on youtube soon and throw in a couple photos on the review.

I love the Segway and have several of their products. I have a few of the scooters as well, so once this came out I had to have it, and it did not disappoint.

I bought 2 of them. I gave 5 stars because I don't know what would make the product any better. Someone else might have some good ideas. Maybe if it had a cellphone holder or a pouch for small items like water etc. There are 3 levels of riding to complete before it allows full speed. I found this annoying but, just put up with it and log the appropriate miles and it will turn out ok. The app is decent and can show where you've been and the distance covered, plus the menu for the lights and locking feature.

Bought for my husband to use at place of business with multiple buildings. Needed to learn balance then off he went. His employees have also used it.

Awesome Segway upgrade! I have the original and this upgraded version and the extra speed is worth the additional cost. I like the kick stand and speed monitor on top. The tires are different and I guess better since it won't pop. Best to buy these on sale. I purchased an extended warranty on the original and have had no issues in over 2 years, and I have no issues with this version. All working great.

The self balance is not working. You step on it, it takes off full speed, this was not tested. We thought we were doing something wrong. There is no information about this on the web, and they reviews are kind of hidden. There is not service center anywhere and when I go to the websites listed on their website, they have closed down, you do not know who you can call, there is nothing I can do. Best buy should have never sold this without the oem support, it is a company the merged with another, and it does not say anything much about the self balance, it is very dangerous.

This had a malfunction. It would not cut off when you got off of it. Made a hole in my wall. Terrible

Great, fun device. However, the construction of the lean steer unit (to which the handle is attached) is crap. Started breaking wear the upper lean steer part screws into lower lean steer part. This renders the device useless. We have had this for a year, started cracking after the first few uses. Just got off phone with Segway and they are unable to provide a replacement part. Absolutely ridiculous.

Very pleased with the item, reasonably priced and easy to assemble.
