Customers have good things to say about the gameplay, story, action sequences, and controls of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. However, some players find the game's difficulty challenging, citing a steep learning curve and demanding boss fights as potential drawbacks. A few also mentioned frame rate inconsistencies. Overall, the positive feedback on the core gameplay mechanics outweighs the concerns regarding difficulty.

From Software strikes again. I thought the combat in Bloodborne was top tier but this truly takes it to another level. It took a bit to get used to as the style is quite a departure from Dark Souls and is even faster than Bloodborne. It rewards for parrys/deflect and it's definitely much easy to do than any previous From Software games. The world they crafted is incredible and so is the rich story. Can't recommend this enough!

This game is another great game from the Souls Bloodborne devs. This game matches dark souls series in difficultly but focuses on parrying more. Great traversal system with prosthetic arm grappling hook. Prosthetic arm also has attachments that can be unlocked as you progress thru game. Story is good but not great but the combat makes up for that in a big way. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a challenge!

Wonderful game in all aspects. Beautifullly designed world, perfect combat, and high levels of replayability. The game is tough, but as a first-time From Software player, not as brutal as I expected and always fair. If you’re up for a challenge, I can’t recommend it highly enough.

If you love playing games like Dark Souls, Blood borne and Nioh, you will love Sekiro. This game doesn't have RPG elements like the games I mentioned, but is so satisfying. Excellent combat and boss fights is what makes this game really memorable. Highly recommend this game if you like a challenge. I rage quit this game twice yet after a month of playing, finished the game and feel awesome!

This game is really cool. I'm about 1/3 of the way through it so far. The graphics and playability are awesome! Be warned just like the Dark Souls series & Bloodborne this game is hard! From Software must like it when I die 2 million times LOL. Even with that it's rewarding to beat the challenges. If you're a Bloodborne or Souls fan you'll love this game too.

I get why this was game of the year. One of the most amazing From Software games ever! Bloodborne was my favorite game from them but now this masterpiece is my favorite game. Is the most challenging, but the most satisfying to overcome and learn. Strongly recommend this game to people who love very hard games.

I think this game can best be described as difficult but fair. The combat is great, the world (or what i have seen of it so far) is interesting and entices you to explore the nooks and crannies. It does take a learning curve if you are used to the prior games they have made but it wont be too far that it feels unfamiliar. If you want a good challenge and interesting game, get this.

I had a blast with this game and the added challenge that came from the same developers at from soft is great. It's fair and yet will beat you to a pulp unless you can adapt and learn your enemies. the graphics are great and the extra content is more then worth the price. As always it came on time and was packaged quite well.

I really didn't want to give this game a 5-star rating. It frustrates me. It makes me angry. And, after dozens of hours, I'm not even 10% through it. But, it's beautiful, it's very well done, and it's challenging as heck.
Don't buy this game if you want to spend a few hours relaxing with a video game. Buy it if you want an intense experience that feels so rewarding when you finally manage to defeat that mini-boss (yes, there's a horde of mini-bosses that must be defeated before encountering each of the main bosses) that sneered at you every time it killed you.
Before you rage-quit over a seemingly insurmountable foe, just remember: the internet is your friend! More than once (let's be honest, many, many times), I've gone online and found out how others managed (in some cases, quite easily) to succeed.

If you love these type of games then this one is a no brainer. But be aware that you'll need to forget most of what you learn in other games of the genre. Here is all about staying in front of the enemy and blocking/parrying on time in order to break their posture and do some damage.
Of course this also means that you are standing in front of Front Software enemies so if you don't get good at it then expect to have a hard time.
The world is amazing, with twists and turns and hidden passages and secrets. Front game worlds are among the best and this is among their best.
Just be aware that it is a haaaaaard game.
Get it.

Fun game. Love the stealth aspect of it. Reminds me kind of like the original Tenchu for the first PlayStation. Gets repetitive, like most games nowadays, but if you like stealth and ninjas, this game is a must. The graphics are brilliant and the story mode is fairly well done.

From Software hits another one out of the park

From Software is famous (or infamous, depending on your viewpoint) for putting out tough-as-nails games. I thoroughly enjoyed Dark Souls and was extremely excited to test my skills against From's new style of action-RPG. Needless to say, anyone who's used to the Souls series' turtling/armadillo approach to combat will go through an adjustment period to start facing attacks head on, as Sekiro is adamant with punishing passive playstyles. In spite of the obvious difficulty, this game shines with visceral combat and highly memorable boss encounters. There's a huge sense of progression seeing your use of healing items decrease as you learn a boss' patterns. Even aside from the amazing combat, exploration is rewarding, with tons of items to find off the beaten path. Give this one a shot - games that provide this level of fair challenge and mechanical polish are very few and far between.

This was a sort of experiment from From Software that turned out to be a success. The combat of this game is very engaging and exciting, but not without its learning curve.
As is tradition with other games from this developer, very unforgiving but a worthwhile gem if you put in the grind to master it.

Don't come into this game without researching prior Fromsoft games. You cannot change the difficulty level of the game and it is set fairly high. That being said, the environments are absolutely gorgeous and the combat is difficult but also very enjoyable. Would recommend to prior Dark Souls or Bloodborne players.

You will die. Your mettle will be tested. You'll want to stop playing and never revisit this game...
I tend to stay away from Souls types of games since they tend to require so much time, patience and unwavering attention (I tried playing Bloodborne and Demons souls remake) but Sekiro hits different. Almost instantly it lured me into it's beautiful world and I can't stop playing it. The feeling of overcoming these challenges, cannot be explained. This is what gaming is all about.

The makers of Dark Souls and Bloodborne return with their most different iteration of this formula yet. Sekiro is a Shinobi action game that shares much DNA with Dark Souls, but also deviates in significant ways. While you still battle your way from checkpoint to checkpoint, losing experience and money when you die, experience points play a much smaller role in Sekiro, as it is not an RPG. Your character doesn't level up as such. You can gain experience to learn new moves, but you have minimal opportunity to gain more health and strength. This means that where in Dark Souls you could grind a few levels when you were stuck on a boss, in Sekiro, you just have to figure out ow to beat them. It ends u[ being difficult and satisfying in a surprisingly different way. If you enjoy From Software games, do not hesitate to buy this. If you have never played one before, get ready for one of the hardest games you will ever play with no difficulty level options.

It’s another hit by From Software. The studio that gave us Dark Souls and Bloodborne gives us a fun and challenging action game. You’ll want to take every encounter seriously and probably die a lot. But it’s worth it for the striking visuals, growth in gameplay, and excellent story.

This game is fun and unforgiving, with pretty graphics just what every action game lover wants. It's one of those games that is JUST hard enough to drive you crazy, but not give up - which makes victories all the more rewarding. There's also a very respectable amount of depth - it's more than just hack and slash. You have to be very strategic about your combat and your items. It's clever.

Really good quality game. The story is great and really gives you an ancient Japan feel with some mystical elements. This is NOT a hack and slash. You use more stealth and timing your attacks and the right time. I would recommend it.
