    Weird beginings....sound better now.

I purchased these on sale at $19.99. I'm glad I didn't pay full price. At first they sounded only 'ok'. I had to turn the volume on my laptop or iPod to 100% just to get a decent sound! I don't like my headphones loud but these are very low in my opinion. The quality of sound does get better over time....so I'd say right now after 20 hours of use, they're 'good'. They are decent $20 headphones but I wouldn't want to pay more. I recently bought the Sennheiser CX300 earbuds and they are amazing! For reference, I do own the HD202's which are over the ear headphones and much better than these HD219's. The 202's have a much stronger, better sound and you can pick those up for about $22. The build quailty of these HD219's is ok...plastic of course...but fit comfortably. The ear pieces themselves swivel a little to help fit over your ears. Having these placed correctly over your ears is crucial, it makes big difference in sound...so take your time until you work it out and get the best fit. The sound out of these is clear but the bass is soft...I don't see how they say 'dynamic bass response'? Maybe it'll get better. The mids and highs are fine but nothing special. I just get the feeling that I'm getting $19.99 headphones here....and haven't found a bargain. They get 4 stars - since they're only 'Good'. Maybe for father day I'll get a pair of Momentums...I tested them in Bestbuy....WOW! Now they sound like they're worth $129! Good Luck!

A very nice and comfortable set of headphones...Figured having these on a commuter bus would help with not having to hear the loudmouths on the bus at "zero dark thirty"...Only helped a bit...Could have really used a volume control on the headsets themselves to pump up the volume.

I bought these to replace a Koss set that I have used for years. I use them mostly for my ipod when I am at the gym. For that purpose, they are more than fine. The sound is very good, and they keep out most noise. They are definitely loud enough. I have only had them for about two months so I cant rate durability.

    Left headphone stopped working

OK headphones if you aren't active...

I bought these headphones primarily because of the name recognition. I have primarily always purchased Sony headphones. The first thing I noticed about these headphones was how thin the cord was. When I put them on the sound quality was decent, but I also listen to old time radio and streaming talk radio that doesn't require the highest sound quality. They were relatively comfortable. So why the low review, well after 3 months of daily active wear (in and out of jacket pockets, pants pockets, backpack) the left headphone stopped working reliably. You can monkey around with the angle if the cord and temporarily get the sound back, but the momment the cord moves again the left headphone will go silent. So in the end I would say the headphones are OK if you plan on using them in a stationary location but if you are going to be active...I would look at a different pair of headphones.

Never heard of this brand but thought I'd give it a try since it was my price range. It does deliver what it says. Good deep bass and great overall sound. Close to Bose quality (I use it on my iPhone 5 on long road trips). Would recommend!

These are decent if you can get them on sale for $50. They are lightweight & comfortable. Bass is a little weak but not totally absent. Mids are very strong and clear. No right angle plug makes it hard to plug into iPad. Works good with laptop. These need a lot of power to sound good, more than an iPad can deliver!

They are ok headphones. If used for classical and ambience sounds, or listening to talk shows or religion. Not so great for dance, hip hop, rap, rock, r&b or any other music that has bass.

These clasp very weakly to the head, even if you have the largest of heads. They slip around and produce very little thump and let in lots of outside noise. The cord on my pair shorted out after two months of light use; apple earbuds are a superior product, serious.

    Sennheiser - Over-the-Ear Headphones

These are not Over-the-Ear Headphones... The Best Buy Website clearly says: Sennheiser - Over-the-Ear Headphones. These are Sennheiser HD 219 On Ear Headphone. Had to return them, anyway now you know. I called best Buy about the listing and told them at the store when i returned them, however even after emailing tech about the mistake they still list them wrong.

    Ill-fitting design, anemic sound.

I tried these to supplement my Sennheiser PX100 portable headphones as well as to be a smaller, lighter alternative to my Sennheiser HD203 headphones, which I use mainly for recording. As far as comfort goes, the HD219 headphones feel oversized, and the earcups don't press firmly enough to feel secure, much less provide the seal a closed-back design should have. The "Experience Bass" statement on the package is misleading, as the sound is all mids and highs. I of course compared these to my other headphones mentioned above, and they are far from having the others' volume level and fullness of sound.
