Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the sound quality, comfort, and ease of setup of the RS 175 RF Wireless Headphone System. They appreciate the wireless connection, long battery life, and range of the headphones. Some customers have mentioned that the headphones are a bit heavy and expensive, and there can be interference if a device is on the 2.4GHz WiFi network. Overall, customers are very satisfied with the RS 175 RF Wireless Headphone System and would recommend it to others.

After reading other reviews about how good these were for people hard of hearing,I had to buy them to see if it really made that big of a difference. I wound say this is my best electronic purchase ever. Before I had to blast my surround sound to here what they were saying and I was still asking my wife what did he say. My wife was always saying turn it down. Now we’re both happy. The tv can stay at a low volume and with the Sennheiser headphones I can make out every word and hear background sounds I never heard before! I just wish I had purchased these a long time ago.

An AMAZING set of surround sound headphones. I’ve experience high end surround sounds, sound bar ss, and headphone ss, and these are the best I’ve experienced. I use them to watch movies in the evening and not disturb my downstairs neighbors and now I prefer them over regular ss! Totally worth it if you want immersion or to not disturb someone. The cushions are soft and breathable, my ears never sweat in them. The headband is comfortable and doesn’t squeeze your head. Overall very worth the price!

Sennheiser Wireless Headphones Saved My Marriage

The last pair of Sennheiser wireless headphones performed flawlessly for over 10 years -- until the headphones and over-the-head padding had been stepped on, broken irreparably, the repaired well over 10 tens, before leading to our decision to hunt for new ones. This new pair allows for far better fidelity - and the controls are positioned so that turning your head on a pillow doesn't result in catastrophic volume changes! Seriously, my wife just loves them - and so do I. As a 'night person' Marsha follows me into bed by about three hours on a typical night - then lies in bed watching Law & Order for another two hours. I used to wake up occasionally hearing 'dum-dada-dum-dum-dum' sneaking out of the old phones. These have much better cushioning and I haven't been woken once since we starting using the RS175 model. Looks like we might make another 34 years together the way these things are working!

A great Hi-Fi addition to my PC setup that lets me move around my apartment. I replaced a similar but older model of Sennheiser wireless headphones with this unit, and it's treated me fairly well. I find the headset on the heavy side, but comfortable nonetheless. Audio quality is great and I enjoy movies/music with the Bass Boost feature. On the technical side, this headset has rather poor signal quality from the receiver that is more sensitive than other similar headphones to RF interference. I keep the receiver near my router, and the 2.4 GHz WiFi would cause frequent signal drops every minute or so with very few devices connected. I needed to reduce power to the 2.4 GHz radio in order to stop the audio dropping. Standing near a microwave will also kill the signal entirely. Mind where you store the receiver for these headphones! Battery life is excellent for how much I use them - If they are installed into a PC setup like mine, just keep them plugged in when not in use and there shouldn't be a dead headset unless you try to pull some monster 14-hour session. You can replace the stock batteries with ONLY rechargeable AAs, which may improve battery life depending on what batteries you buy.

We have previously purchased another brand name headphones and have found the need to replace every two years. I thought we’d give these a try. My husband loves them. Pros - the surround sound is amazing. Cons- volume control is too chunky, not a knob to slowly ease the volume.

Excellent sound, relatively comfortable, and easy to pair with an additional headset so that two people can listen. The only con, and it's one that, based on my research, is a problem with this unit, is the occasional sound dropouts. They are brief and random, but they happen often enough to be annoying. I purchased a higher-quality audio cable, and I'm going to try and move the receiver/transmitter away from my wireless router to see if that makes a difference. I am puzzled by this problem because the lower-quality wireless headset combo I had previously never had these dropouts. I expected more from a higher-priced, higher-quality unit.

Great headphones! Has been great for not waking up the baby or the wife while I stay up and watch a show. I did but a optical cable splitter to split the cables between the soundbar and these headphones that way both devices work at the same time. No issues at all and sound quality is good!

These are by far the best earphones I have purchased. I like to turn up the volume for the audio effects of action movies, but am constantly being scolded. Now with these headphones I am able to watch movies or tv with clear crisp sound while not disturbing anyone else in the household.

It is a very good headphone. It is easily adjusted for volume, surround and bass on the right cup. It is a bit slippery on my fine hair so I wear a nit cap. Also the over ear cups hurt my pierced ear so I have to extend the cup arms down a bit. It takes up to 16 hours to charge fully for the first time. It helps to keep my neighbor in the apartment below from calling the manager too much.

From the manufacturer's description that says it can go 330 ft away from the receiver and through walls I just want 20 ft into my kitchen and I told him lost reception with receiver I was still in line of sight the receiver,so don't believe what the manufacturer description says it is not true,I'm returning this Sennheiser RS 175 headset back to Best Buy I expected more for price I paid for this headset.I don't recommend this headset because of limited range

    Completely Worth the Premium

I wear, and have worn, A LOT of headphones. Partly because I have a slight hearing loss in one ear and I don't want to blast sound from the TV just to hear. I've tried some less expensive products from companies who we all think are leaders in this industry. While the Sennheiser RS 175 headphones are on the pricey end, I probably could have saved myself time and money in the long run if I would have started my headphone journey by picking the RS 175. I no longer have a single iota of an issue with static/interference like I did previously. The sound these produce along with no more issues with interference alone make them well worth the premium cost. I've worn these for hours and hours with no discomfort at any point of contact. Having an over the ear headphones keeps the majority of the noise contained. If you are really blasting the volume in the headphones, there will be some sound that others, not wearing headphones, can hear. As I previously mentioned, I have tried all types of headphones from a super long wired set of headphones to multiple different wireless sets and I could have saved all of that time and money if I would have selected the Sennheiser - RS 175 headphones to begin with.

These are everything I expect from Sennheiser. I have had several of their hi-end over the ear headphones in the past and continue to use them with my stereo system. This brand was the first I went for when looking for a wireless set for my wife to use with the TV. The sound is amazing (of course) the wireless connection is perfect with no lag and they are fairly light. Not the lightest I tried, but this is to be expected because they have larger magnets in the speakers. First rate quality of materials and workmanship. LOVE THEM! (note: I bought the open box and saved a ton)

Finally a high quality digital capable wireless head set at a reasonable price point. Now I don't get in trouble with the wife for waking the baby when watching the home theater. This system allows you to have up to 2 headphones connected to the same transmitter. The problem is that BB does not sell the head set only, you have to get from factory. I purchased two systems with transmitters so now I have a spare and can charge both headsets at once. Programming the headset is a snap, just place the headset on the charging station for a few seconds and your golden. Take time to down load the manual from the manufacturer website, what in the box is just a quick set up guide that doesn't give you much info. Installation only takes 2 minutes once you know how you will connect. I suggest using the optical connection if you want surround sound quality vs the analog 3mm plug. If your gonna spend the money on these headphone, go digital, if you want analog buy some cheap wireless units. Sound quality on these unit are fantastic! I like them better than my last set of Bose wired noise canceling set at a fraction of the cost!
