If you are not into beat'em ups and anime you should look elsewhere. The game is far better than its predecessor. It has many improvements in terms of gameplay that make it stand quite well. The only thing that does bother is the fact that sometimes your attacks do miss in this game. This leads to a lot of dropped combos sadly. A quick tip for boss fights, you must use Frantic Mode. They are a must for boss fights. A lot of other reviewers have complained about the game being to difficult with it's bosses and well they are correct. bosses are tough, but then again they are bosses they are meant to be difficult. This is where Frantic Mode comes into play. It helps you deal massive damage to bosses and give you infinite use of you special gauge and actually heals you as you hit enemies. It is an excellent trade off for your special gauges (called Ninja Arts in this game). The dialogue can be funny at times and the music is absolutely killer. Some people might be turned off by the aesthetics of the game and well that is understandable. This is a Japanese game so a lot of the humor comes from the fact that boobs are funny. Overall i would recommend this game if you like beat'em ups and are looking for something different.

Beware this game is filled with lots of fanservice, so if you are uncomfortable with that type of thing, do not play. That aside, it is an enjoyable action game. Some of the characters are pretty weird, but overall they are likable.

    A Busty Brawler

Most people come to this game for the "plot" but end up staying for the combat. The game openly shows fanservice everywhere so be aware of that. However, the combat is a solid 2D style brawler that can be challenging if you're not paying attention. The characters have development and there are a lot of missions and optional things to do (story, challenge mode, special missions). There are DLC missions but these are extra and do not impact the main game by not having them. The game is also in English text but use the original Japanese voices. The Double D edition itself is above average. The 2 CDs (60 song soundtrack) have their own holders, unlike other special editions which have the CD in a paper sleeve. The game even comes with a manual in the case, which is unusual in this digital age.

The game is fanservice-y, and its reputation for that is well known. I wouldn't say that's inherently a bad thing; they know who they are advertising to with this product, however, the game's mechanics and gameplay is surprisingly solid and fun, and it performs well on the 3DS. If you don't mind the fan service, (and especially if you do like it) this game is worth getting for the clearance price The fan service provides a fine backdrop for the game to surprise and exceed the player's expectations.

Not much to say about this game honestly. It's a decent action brawler featuring high school girls with above average "characteristics", and if you're craving a sweet tooth, never fear since there's SO MUCH "eye candy" in this game. I'd also recommend this game for scientists as well, since the "physics" in this game defy almost everything scientists have been studying up until now.

The game itself is okay. many of the mechanics are rough like the camera and target lock-on system. The core of the gameplay is through the clothes ripping though. It's a good game if you are a fan of the series.

Senran Kagura 2 is a huge step up from the first game. The graphics are better, the gameplay is more fluid, the framerate is stable and the fan service is in full swing. If you are a fan of the first game, you'll no doubt have fun with this one.

If you are looking for 'unreasonably sized' anime gals duking it out ninja style then you're in luck. That's all this game is about. If that's what you're after then this is for you.

2.5 side scroll beat em up that is easy to pick up and play with new added mechanics. If you are a big fan of the series this is a must have since it is continuation of burst.

I had never heard of Senran Kagura until I saw this set that came with the soundtrack. The gameplay is akin to a mixture between Dynasty Warriors and Streets of Rage on a 2.5D plane. The cutscenes play out like a visual novel, with spoken dialogue that can be rewound, fast fowarded, or skipped entirely. As for the fan service, it's a bit over the top, to the point that the two-disc CD set is literally a set of breasts, the center of the CD implied to be the nipples. So, if you want to deal with fan service that leaves the game and enters the real world, it's worth a try.

I haven't had a chance to play it yet, but it's in very good condition, box and everything, which is a major plus. Initially I didn't think it would be a $50 value, but then I found out from an unboxing video that this game comes with an instruction booklet, something that's surprisingly rare these days. An actual, honest-to-goodness instruction booklet! So if you take one thing away from this review, I hope it's this: instruction booklets are rad. This was worth every penny, probably.
