We had a Shark Professional for about 5 years before it gave up the ghost. We went into Best Buy with the thought of another Shark or switching to Dyson. It seems they are equivalent at the end of the day, with Dyson’s being a bit lighter and quieter but with less features. This model was an upgrade for us, and we’re glad we went with it. Our house is almost all hardwood floors, and the extra roller makes it feel like the floors have been freshly mopped—it picks up everything! We also have two cats, so the pet hair attachment was a must for us. This model has one with electric powered gears, so it’s more effective in less time than the suction powers types. Plus there is a built in light on the handle so you can see on dark fabrics. The detaching handle is also useful for stairs. It would be nice if the canister had some sort of strap setup so you could wear it on your back to free up the use of both hands. The longer cord makes it easy to get a full room or go all the way up a flight of stairs. Cleaning and taking it apart has also proved to be easy. This vacuum is powerful, but it is heavy and is a bit loud—but we knew this when we bought it and it’s worth the trade off. It’s almost a perfect vacuum and we’re very happy with it.

I tried the animal 2, but the pull was too hard with my plus carpet and it was impossible to drag across the floor. This vacuum not only has easier to manage buttons but lights on the traditional configuration as well as the hose attachment. The handles make it easy to carry. Small enough to store. And the main section with dust bin detaches making stairs and curtains a breeze! The power of this thing is also balanced with its quiet (for a vacuum) operation. The dust bin is easy to empty and doesn’t make a dust cloud mess like some others do. I have a cat and this has a feature that keeps the rollers from getting tangled called zero-m. Comes with multiple attachments including one motorized brush I used on the carpeted stairs. I am a big fan of this sweeeper and plan to continue to recommend Shark Apex Duo Clean!

Powerful, cleans well. Love that it has 3 settings. I have thick rug, thin rug and wood floors changing from one another very easy from handle. You don't feel the weight on forward and back movement but it hurts my bad shoulder when changing direction, it swivels easily but gets heavy. Very long cord helps a lot.

After getting a dog with long hair, vacuuming up tons of hair turned into an incredible time consuming chore. It wasn't the vacuuming per se, but trying to get those long hairs off of the brush rollers of 1st a Miele and then an older Shark was a struggle. The Apex DuoClean with Zero-M definitely delivers!! Love the lift away feature, attachments, the way the Zero-M prevents the majority of hair becoming wound around the brush roller....and the ease of access to both the brush and soft rollers makes this the perfect vacuum for our household, with suction to spare! The controls - with an easy slider for bare floor, low pile, and high pile carpets helps tailor to the surface. If I had to identify a drawback, it would be that the vacuum is a bit front heavy when maneuvering, otherwise this is the best vacuum we've owned by far!

I'm happy. Vacuum has much better suction and is far quieter than my old hoover. I have dogs and it does great on both hard floors and carpet, the canister is also far easier to dump then old vacuum which would get plugged up with the hair. Quality seems great and the design has a lot of unique features. I would like to see more tools included and better storage and maybe retractable cord but otherwise have nothing bad to say about the unit. Before buying this unit I went to a Vacuum shop and looked at other options, most of which where twice the price and was completely unimpressed by all the expensive brands. The shark feels higher quality then the Dysons I looked at.

I was actually excited to get this home and try it out. Our old Shark died and after comparing what was out there, I decided to give this one a shot. It cost a little more than I planned on spending for a new Vacuum, but I was not disappointed. The powered pet tool works really well, I've used it on the couches and noticed a big difference. The light on the handle when using the attachments was actually more useful than I thought it would be. (I could actually see what I was doing) I also wanted a vacuum that would be easy to take apart to clean, which this one is. The Dual Brushes work really well on the carpet too. It's also pretty quiet, (my opinion anyway), much quieter than the old shark.

We are thoroughly impressed with the quality and performance of this vacuum. We wholeheartedly recommend it! The many attachments with very well, the lights are supremely useful and the suction is amazing. The only thing is that this is a heavy vacuum. However, if you remove the main housing off of the main wand and hold it in one hand while moving the wand with the other, then it's more manageable. Also, the duster attachment should come standards with the vacuum, but it doesn't. I had to order it, separately, from Shark's website. Otherwise, this is an amazing vacuum!

Like this vaccum. Good sunction, easy to use controls. I use it because my wife thinks it is heavy. Can’t get under some furniture. Good price. Reasonably quiet. I use on tile, hardwood, area rugs and carpet.

This vacuum cleaner was very easy to assemble. It picks up dirt better than my dyson ever did. Super easy to use. I love the versatility. I would like a longer and more flexible hose and a slightly bigger canister. My carpet is cleaner and it lifts it up as well where it has been packed down by traffic. Love the light on the front and even on the separate pet brush which is powered. The pet brush works so well. It cleaned the hair off my dogs bed better than anything else. Love my new vacuum!

I have never owned or operated a vacuum cleaner that was this powerful. The suction is so powerful that when using the handheld extension, if placed on hardwood, it will suction to the flat surface of the floor and not glide smooth across. For a vacuum to suction that strongly to a flat surface and not carpeted flooring is unimaginable. This thing just so effortlessly sucks up every last crumb. There is what appears to be LED lights, which do a phenomenal job of lighting exactly what and where you need to see in order to get the job done. I love that they also added the lights to the handheld piece so that when you're using the hose, you can also see, which is especially important when using it to reach crumbs in inconvenient places like under couches or in small corners and spaces. I have hardwood floors throughout my entire house, even the kitchen, and I use this vacuum throughout the entire house and it does an exceptional job! I have a very high pile area rug that is just shy of being a shag rug, and it does an okay job at vacuuming up crumbs for that. There is a setting you should switch to, which does help, but it doesn't do a GREAT job on that rug. Not a big deal for me though. I am SO impressed with the overall quality and ease of use (it's not too heavy either!). You honestly can't beat it for the price. I am SO glad that I did my due diligence prior to purchasing a new vacuum and did not give in and get a Dyson. This Shark has made cleaning fun (isn't that CRAZY?!).

    This vacuum SUX

This is by far the best vacuum I have ever used. Its scary how much this thing will pick up and what it will do. I have had it for close to a couple of years now and it is as impressive as ever. I have had the Yellow European one in the past and it was meh. I have had the one that is sold door-to-door in the past that beast of a vacuum and this one out performs those hands down. The canister comes off to make using the wand easier. It will vac up like a shop vac on items that other vacuums would run away from. It does hard floors like a champ, is kind enough to use on my antique rugs and ferocious enough to tackle the deep pile carpet that my dogs are fond of rolling all over in like its grass. The only down side (and its not a down side its a plus) to this wonderful beast is that it pulls everything out of the carpet. I have two dogs and two cats and the amount of fur they leave in their wake boggles the mind. Fur, Dust, Dirt, Leaves, Grass, Screws, Drywall, everything! This thing ploughs threw everything and ask for more. Worth the price tag as it earns its keep by doing what it was made to do. "It SUX!"

This vacuum is ideal for people who have both hardwood and carpeting. The three settings are hardwood, thin carpeting, and thick rugs/carpet. The headlights are a nice touch so you can see the dust and pet hair you are picking up. The cord is long enough to do the (my) entire downstairs in one go. The canister is big enough to handle all the hair, dirt and other things you are vacuuming up. I replaced my Dyson with this Shark and it eats everything in sight.

I've only had this Shark for a month but I am very pleased with it. It's very quiet, cleans well and I'm really liking the no hair on the roller brush. That was a big problem with the old vacuum, not anymore! The swivel does take some getting used to it but no problem now. I wish the cord was in a better location. It does a good job on hardwood floors, too.

I've has this vacuum for about a month now and the suction is better than my original duo clean. It's also bigger, heavier and A little harder to move around. I have a German Shepard and it does an incredible job at cleaning his fur from my dark carpet! Also, my experience with shark is if there's in issue they send you a replacement part.

Time will tell, but so far this vacuum cleaner lives up to the stars. It is very versatile. I have no carpet, so I was looking for an easy way to vacuum laminate floors. This definitely does the job. I really like the soft front roller. It doesn't let the dust bunnies escape. I wasn't sure if I would like the bagless part, but there really isn't a problem with it. Unlike my other vacuum that would spit debris out the back, this one keeps it contained until I empty it. I did a lot of internet research and found this one the highest rating for my price range. I love how I can lift away the canister part and get under furniture. You have to be careful it doesn't tip over when you have that part removed. It is very maneuverable as well although it took some time for me to learn it. I am very happy with the purchase so far. What made the experience so worth it, the customer service. I went to Best Buy because that's where they had in stock and I wanted it right away. It was about $20 cheaper on Amazon, but not only did Best Buy say they would price match that, but the sales person looked at other sites and found it even cheaper saving me $40. They even carried it to my car. Awesome service.

Overall very happy with the cleaning power. Great for both carpets a hardwood floors. Seems a little heavy in back and forth motion on carpets. Most likely due to great suction and heavy duty pickup brush. Does not scratch hardwoods. Easy to open and empty canister. Definitely heavy to carry detached canister with attachments. Only had it for a few weeks but can definitely tell a big difference in our carpets vs. our old vacuum cleaner

Easily the best vacuum I have purchased in the last two decades. This includes other brands as well as other Shark products! I absolutely recommend spending the extra $ and purchasing the extra attachments for in-depth hard to reach cleaning without breaking your back but it's SUPER easy to use and clean. The DuoBrush system is a GODSEND!

While we liked the ease of use of our Dyson cordless, after it died, we wanted to have a more powerful vacuum. What caught our attention from the Shark Apex DuoClean was the Zero M (self cleaning feature) that has worked just as advertised. This vacuum REALLY SUCKS!

Our previous Shark lasted about 5 to 6 years and always worked great. This one provides great suction and seems much quieter. Both the wife and I have no issues. The cord seems quite long, so no having to keep swapping outlets when going room to room. Waste container is easy to remove, empty and reinstall.

So...had a Shark that I owned for about 4-5 years. It worked wonderfully! I really liked it and it crapped out on me. I used the crap out of it though...so not entirely surprised it decided to die! But, 4-5 year time span for a vacuum (in my eyes) was decent and worth it! There may be differing opinions on that though... Ultimately, when my previous Shark died, I decided to reinvest in another one. Bought this one and it is sooooo much better than the last one. Its design is great, noise is semi-loud, easy to use and to move around and all of that. I think the cord is a bit longer compared to my old Shark but maybe that is just me. Only complaint I have is the attachments. They are good (comes with three different ones) but its where they are placed on the unit. Whether they snap into place or not...they always fall. Their placement is not the best...and to be honest, I lose them more often than not because their attachment scheme is not the best. Aside from that...well-rounded and flexible machine. Worth it in my eyes...and if it lasts the 4-5+ years my old one did, I am totally okay with that.
