I can't say enough about this vacuum. It seems to have all the bells and whistles. It's very versatile. The special roller than keeps hair from tangling isn't perfect, but does work very well, especially if you vacuum often. I also love that you can remove the dust bin even when the cord is all wrapped up for stowing.

This cleaner does an exceptional job on carpets. My first use was in a heavily traveled room. It picked up cat hair that I couldn't even see. On pretreated stain areas, its performance was exceptional. Normal areas just needed 1 pass, not overlapping double passes and still outperformed our other floor cleaners. It is also a quiet running machine.

I love this Shark even though it's a lot heavier than I expected. I had an older Shark and the cleaning brush I use for the steps died. We have a dog who sheds constantly so that is the one part I use more than any other. I'm not crazy about the brush that came with the vac but there is another that I'm planning to order which has a motor and should clean steps a lot better. Other than that I love the way the vac cleans.

I bought my Sharp to replace my old Windtunnel vaccumn cleaner. This is easy to use and has great attachments for a variety of your cleaning needs. It took a little getting used to the swivel feature but it comes in handy when turning corners and cleaning between chairs. The portable unit makes it easy to clean stairs and furniture. I love the ease of changing switch in the handle to change from hardwoods to different heights of carpet.

This vacuum is seriously worth the high price. It's a bit heavier then the navigator but it does a great job. The led lights are also very appealing. I live the different ways to use each tool it comes with. I have always used shark vacuums and this one is by far the best. The cleaning assembly of the brushes makes my life so much easier!

    Beyond Expectations

Here I am a middle-aged dad reviewing a vacuum. The Shark - APEX with a long name lives up to all the characters they take up. I have two toddlers, two cats, and a puppy so you can imagine the messes made in my household. I saw the commercials and advertisements for this vacuum and imagined it'd live up to most of the hype. What I didn't expect was for it to blast those expectations out of the water. I was immediately disgusted in my living conditions when I used the Apex to clean my carpets and hardwood floors. SO MUCH FILTH was collected in 3 empties of the container on my first pass through. This vacuum has actually changed my relationship with this chore and I'm cleaning every two days instead of once a week. Pros: - Attachments work well for pet hair - Baseboards cower with the notch tool - the release mechanism to carry the vacuum is super helpful, especially on stairs - suction power and floor types in combination are fantastic ( you can tell it's working) Cons: - wrist fatigue after a few minutes, unless you detach - Turning/changing directions isn't as smooth on hardwoods

I have owned many high end vacuums including Rainbow, Kirby, and Dyson and the Shark blows them all away! It is more versatile, easier to use, has great suction, and the brush cleaner is Ingenious! I highly recommend this vacuum for anyone looking for a high quality versatile cleaning machine that won’t break the bank.

    Shark's 5-Star Vacuum

This new Shark vacuum really sets the new standard in cleaning the floor. It has three modes for cleaning in your house. It vacuums up dirt, pet hair, human hair, dust with ease on carpet, rugs, hardwood floors and furniture, and even includes a filter that keeps airborne allergies sucked up by the vacuum rather than push allergies away. Unboxing was the Shark vacuum was easy as it was separated into pieces. After I had emptied the box, I read the easy printout of how to put the pieces together. It did take about 15 minutes to get the vacuum all in one piece. The biggest problem I encountered was the clips that connected the vacuum cleaner into one piece. I moved very carefully because I didn’t want to break the clips. Lastly moving the vacuum to an angle required a little extra tug needed to bend the vacuum to an angle position. It has slight tension that is no big deal after you do it once. I was very impressed with the lights on the Shark vacuum. Some people may not focus on this but it is impressive at helping you to see dirt and pet hair on your floors. The lights were very bright I really relied on them to help me see what the vacuum was picking up. This is nothing wimpy about this vacuum. Shark got it right when it comes to cleaning your floors. There are 3 settings hardwood, carpet and rugs. You can switch seamlessly between floor cleaning modes with an easy switch on the handle. This is very convenient when you go from rugs to hardwood. When cleaning the hardwood floor, the Shark even leaves a nice sheen or polished look. It is a nice example of the cleaning power of this vacuum. You can also use the pet attachment to really clean furniture of unwanted pet hair and/or the dirt that accumulates in furniture with use. Besides the pet hair brush there is a long and slender tool for narrow spaces and lastly two bristling thin brushes that I used for furniture. Now there are only 2 spaces on the Shark for tools so you will have to choose between the 4 to have on the vacuum. Not a real big deal in my opinion. The Shark is bagless and has a canister which is very easy to empty. The size of the canister that replaces bags seems about right size. Included in the vacuum is a HEPA filter. It traps the dirt and allergies that helps the vacuum to pickup more dirt, rather just blowing dirt into the air. The cord is 30 feet long! This was more than I needed but also allowed me to go further using the vacuum. The cord is an added bonus in this way. Surprising the Shark vacuum is quiet when in use. This is great because it doesn’t disturb everyone in the house when it is on. Now the weight of this Shark is the heavier side. It weighs about 18 lbs. I would say it is one of the heavier vacuums I have used. But I have to tell you it is a winner on ease of picking up all kinds of things on the floor. The swivel moves very smooth and is not heavy at all once you start to vacuum. It moves with ease and really does pick up what other vacuums miss. It does this through Shark’s Zero M technology which provides amazing suction on whatever floor type you use the vacuum on. I have an area rug that has a lot of foot traffic. I vacuum it every week. When I vacuumed with the Shark, I was shocked to find the canister was full of dirt and dust that the Shark vacuum pulled out of the rug! Pretty amazing! I also removed the canister and was able to clean, very well, the stairs with the pet rotating brushing. It was simple and easier than I had originally thought. Stairs looked great after just one pass through an area. The Shark is relatively easy to breakdown for different cleaning jobs. It may take a couple of times to get the vacuum together after removing the handle or canister, but it becomes really efficient very quickly. I am very pleased with the Shark. It offers real powerful cleaning that glides smoothly over different kinds of flooring. This Shark is a great option for a vacuum cleaner if you are in the market.

As a bagless vac, it's outstanding. But...

Only had this vac for a few weeks, but it cleans my carpets WAY better than my 15 year old top of the line Panasonic was. Suction is very strong, and the Zero M feature works very well to keep string and hair from binding up the main brushroll. The change of surface types is about as easy as it can be short of being done automatically. The LED lighting on the main head and the detachable handle are very helpful. And the removable main pod essentially makes this a canister and upright in one, and makes cleaning areas like stairs a breeze. That's it for the positives, on the negative side it's suction makes it almost self-propelled in the forward direction, so that pulling it back takes some effort. This is not a huge problem though, it's just more than you may be used to. The cup capacity is barely adequate considering this is a flagship-level model, and in dirty conditions can be filled in a fifteen minutes of use. As you may have concluded, I find a lot to like about this vacuum and my negatives are minor. Well, my biggest problem with this product is actually with the entire vacuum industry - it's bagless. You can no longer buy a cutting edge featured vacuum with a bag. No matter how it's designed, emptying a dust cup is a dirty, nasty job. When you empty it, you cannot avoid creating a cloud of very fine dust that sticks to the garbage container, the cup, your hand, your clothes, and everything else withing a three foot radius. There is no way I would ever do this inside my house; in fact the only way to do this and avoid a cleanup afterwards is out in your yard, back to the wind with it blowing at least 25 miles an hour (although your neighbors won't appreciate that). I do not understand why anyone would rather have no bag to replace than to deal with the mess that emptying a bagless makes. Shark, if you're reading this, I'd gladly pay another $100 for a vac that has the same features as the Apex DuoClean Zero-M, BUT WITH A BAG. And I'd gladly proclaim it to be the best vacuum ever made. After debating, I'm saying that I will recommend this to a friend, but only one who illogically insists on a bagless vacuum.

OMG - best vacuum EVER - works effortlessly, LED lights really show you everything, gets super close to baseboards, quickly transition from hard floors, to carpet back to hard floor, then area rugs WITHOUT sucking them up! Highly recommend this unit! Easy to empty, works great on pet hair.

Great suction, no wads of my long hair or pets hair to dig out of the roller. Maneuverability could be a little smoother when going around furniture. The thing I didn't see mentioned and is how quiet it is!! My dogs aren't attacking it! It's great!

The machine is a little on the heavy side but comes apart easily to use like a canister unit. Also, the swivel head is a little difficult to control in a straight line. Overall, a good unit that gets most of the animal hair no matter the surface it’s on with little to no smell. The emptying process is very easy as well.

My wife love this vacuum. Easy to use and easy to move around. She hated using our Kirby Vacuum, even that it did a good job but too heavy and to bulky for her. She is very impress with the performance and how easy it is to go from an upright to a canister for convenience.

Best Vacuum Cleaner for the Money. I have two short hair labs and their Hair is EVERYWHERE and this Vacuum gets it ALL. I Love how every little piece detaches and can be replaced when needed. I don’t think it’s heavy but my wife disagrees with me on that subject.

I switched to Shark a few years ago. I love the ease of cleaning. I have owned others like Dyson, Kirby, Hoover and others but nothing can compare to this model of the shark. my scissors are on holiday because I do not have to clean the underneath of my shark.
