I was fascinated about this product initially, this one being the first robot vacuum at my home. From day 1, I have been trying to figure out the routes that this robot takes inside my living room to ensure total coverage. Though it might seem to be missing most areas of the room initially, the robot does a very good job of ensuring that all the areas in the room are covered.(it uses some sort of calculation logic) On Rugs - the robot vacuum does a good job on climbing on most kinds of rugs, but it struggles to navigate on places that have more curves. The direction changes because of this and hence the dirt doesn't get cleaned up well. On hardwood flooring - No issues on the hardwood flooring. Spot clean - This feature is very useful when we want to robot to focus on one area. The spiral motion removes all dirt. Battery - For a robo vaccum of this price range, this has a pretty good battery life. Approximately 1.5 hours. Auto docking - when battery dies, the vaccum is supposed to auto-dock to get charged, but if the docking station is quite far, the robo doesn't remember or take the shortest path to the station and it dies. Scheduling - this is again a very helpful feature. I schedule it for 5 days a week for different timings and it works well. Overall, there are definitely some improvements that Shark has to work on, but for the price range, this vaccum does a pretty good job. I would definitely recommend this to my friend.

    EASY SETUP & CLEANING

The SHARK ION ROBOT VACUUM was an easy setup out-of-the-box. It was packaged real well and instructions were large, easy to follow, and with limited steps. After charging the unit about an hour (... I had 3 solid lights on top...), I scheduled a cleaning and it started at precisely the programmed time. While it drove my dog a little crazy because she's not used to "things running around the floor", the robot was quiet and easily traversed the travertine flooring to wood to area rugs, and didn't get hung up. My dog's getting used to it running around. Cleaning has been a bit spotty ... it picked up some dog chewy crumbs off the carpet, but left others. I was surprised when it was cleaning the wood floor that it didn't pickup some fuzz, especially since it ran right over it. I'll try it again, since soon after this incident, the robot's battery ran out of charge. Also the unit seems to stay in one area of the downstairs vs the rest of the house and especially not in the kitchen & breakfast room, where it's "home/charger" is (???). It's done this a few times, so maybe I have to move the charger to be more "central" in the downstairs area. I think, overall, the robot will be a timesaver for picking up the usual dust and fuzz that seems to accumulate on my floors. Nice product!

    Relatively quiet robotic vacuum

I have had robotic vacuums in the past and returned them due to the amount of noise they produce. While this vacuum robot is not whisper quiet, it is not uncomfortably loud. The package includes 4 brushes,1 1 bot boundary strip, 1 remote, 1 spare filter, and 1 filter already installed in the robot. I did not use the bot boundary strip which is used to prevent the robot from going p[laces you don't want it to go. It is made of a heavy rubber similar to weather stripping. You can cut it into the desired length and lay it on the floor around areas you don't want the robot to go. This robot did not run into things as often as my previous robot vacuums. For example, when I first ran the robot it did not run into the walls at full speed. Instead, the shark robot slowed down because it detected an object ahead. I did not expect to like the remote that came with, but I did like starting the robot from the comfort of my desk. The biggest drawback with this robot is that you MUST schedule any routine cleaning cycles using the remote. I don't know how you would schedule or modify routine cycles without the remote. No robot will replace a deep clean, but this robot definitely helps keep the pet fur to a tolerable level on my floors. I highly recommend this for pet owners, provided that your pet can tolerate the sound.

The Shark - ION ROBOT 720 Vacuum has far surpassed all of my expectations. This was my first experience with this type of product and I wish I had found this robot vacuum sooner. Setup was very easy although it should be noted that the instructions suggest fully charging the vacuum before using it for the first time so I had to wait awhile before finally getting the chance to test it out. It only took about 2 hours to fully charge. Once I got the vacuum started, I let it run for about 20 minutes in the main living area and kitchen and then checked the canister to see how much it had sucked up. I was shocked to find it completely full already. I usually keep my house pretty clean and wasn’t expecting it to find so much dirt and dust. After emptying the canister, I let the vacuum run some more and didn’t pay much attention to it and noticed about 30 minutes later it had docked itself and started recharging. I checked the canister again and it was full again! After emptying the canister, I had the vacuum continue running since the instructions also indicated that after the first full charge, the battery should be fully drained before recharging again so I let the vacuum run the rest of the day until the battery was very low. Now I run the vacuum at random times but the scheduling feature will likely come in handy for many other people. Overall I am very pleased with this product and I highly recommend it!

This product is a mixed bag, at least in my house. I've spoken with Shark tech support, and I'm hopeful we can change it to a complete positive, but no luck so far. Some background: I'm using this Shark on a single floor with a relatively open plan. All floors are hardwood, with a large area rug. I also travel a lot, so ideally I wanted it to run at a preset time every day, clean up pet hair, then return for charging. Seems simple enough. The positives: The unit is really quiet, much quieter than my Roomba. This means I can run it without having to close the door because of the racket. It cleans up well, getting dirt, pet hair, etc., up on the first pass. The programmable schedule works great. The unit returns to its base when it's in the same room. It's easy to clean out, and the rollers don't get clogged as easily as my Roomba. The IR sensors work well, meaning it isn't banging into things nearly as much as a it would with just the bumper sensor. Battery life seems great, if I could ever get it to finish a cleaning cycle. The negatives: If the base isn't relatively nearby, it doesn't seem to find it. Even being just past an arched entryway causes confusion. While the timer is great, programming it is decidedly non-intuitive. I could live with these issues, but there's another problem that looms large. It gets stuck a lot. I don't mean on carpet or wires. I mean in the middle of a room or hallway. It just suddenly beeps and stops. While about half the time it says the IR sensors are blocked, simply pressing the "clean" button starts it up again, and it runs until, once more, it just stops. And this is what I've been talking with tech support about. Because it stops, it won't return to its base and recharge, it won't start up on its own at the next scheduled cleaning time, and it won't finish the job it was set out to do. Think of it as a robot vacuum that needs a very patient babysitter to restart it every 15-20 minutes, and you get the idea. Perhaps I have a defective unit, perhaps there's something else about it that support can figure out. If they do, then I'll write another review. But for now, I would not recommend this product.

Acceptable performance, but not the best

Having lived with a Bissell Smart Clean robot vac for going on two years, I have an interesting perspective with which to compare this Shark product. CLEANING DURATION The Shark was a huge disappointment on its ability to clean during a charge. The Bissell product can cover my entire apartment on one charge and do so for over an hour. The Shark simply cannot do this and was strikingly inferior on amount of time deployed compared to the Bissell product. DEBRIS CONTAINER The Shark is fairly easy to empty the debris container - the initial removal of the container is easy access, but then you have to then use a button to open the actual container to dump - and I almost dumped the contents because I had the item upside down. Compared to the Bissell, I don't find the Shark an improvement. The Bissell has a lid to access the debris container and then a handle that allows you to extract the container and it is obvious which end is correct so there is no accidental dumping. CLEANING The Shark seems to be more substantial in construction than the Bissell and the impression is that this makes it a better cleaner than the Bissell. I found that the Shark was less acceptable in its coverage and attention to cleaning an area which is compounded by its apparent short cleaning cycle on a charge. The Bissell is persistent in cleaning in areas to the point of seeming like overkill; the Shark is less persistent and spends less time cleaning and apparently lacks the different settings that the Bissell has to utilize different cleaning patterns which seems to cover more area with more detail. Also tested the Shark in both complete darkness and in the light and it worked as it should; the Bissell product performed as well even if it was not as advanced in its technology compared to the Shark. The Bissell does use its bumpers more often to navigate than the Shark which seems to detect areas rather than bump into things as much; however, the Shark obviously was not as good as the Bissell on edge cleaning because the Shark never seemed to want to go close to the wall like the Bissell. CONCLUSION Since the Shark has such a limited ability to cover an area on a charge, I definitely find the Bissell to be a better overall product. Knowing that the lighter weight construction of the Bissell is not indicative of overall durability, I would recommend the Bissell over this Shark. I was truly disappointed in how the Shark performed overall. I am going to have to run the Shark more often to do the same cleaning that the Bissell does - the Bissell is hands down an efficient operator on a charge and this factor made the Shark so obviously inefficient on a charge and what it could do. The only thing that I found that the Shark did more efficiently than the Bissell is returning to the charging station. I conditionally recommend this product but I'd shop for the Bissell on sale over this Shark product. While the Shark looks nice and is seemingly well constructed because it is so heavy compared to the Bissell, I don't see it as an overall better product. Shop on price and you'll not go wrong with this. Disclosure: I did follow all instructions with the Shark and charged it overnight before the first test. The fact it did not last an hour in operation was surprising because the Bissell would still be working as I am writing this. The Shark returned to charge base before I even started this review.

Works great for my 11 dogs

No that is not a typo...I have 11 dogs, and as you can imagine a lot of hair builds up on our floors. This thing works wonders on our floors, I only need to do a deep cleaning once a week now instead of sweeping every day. My wife and I have a combination of vinyl plank and tile flooring, if we didn't at least sweep every day, our house would look like the wild west, but instead of tumbleweeds, we would have hair rolling across the floor. I have had this little vacuum for 1 week and oh my the time it has saved and the hair it picks up. I run it 2 times a day when the dogs are eating so I can move their dog beds out of the way, it gets every inch of our 1300 sqft home in about an hour. The longest it runs is about an hour an ten min. before returning back to the base station, and the best part is it gets under the furniture which is often overlooked when we do the sweeping. I hardly ever write reviews but this robot vacuum has helped keep our floors clean, frees up time as it just fits into our normal routine. I had no issues with the wifi connection, just make sure you follow the on screen directions carefully. When my dogs are out, the first day they minded it, but now they couldn't care less. One last pro of the Shark, it is nice and quiet, I can run it downstairs in the morning while my wife is still in bed and it doesn't wake her up. Highly recommended, pick this great value up!

    Cool Device!

Let me start by saying I love gadgets! What could be a cooler gadget than one that removes one of your chores and has a little fun with the pets. (Not harmful!) On our lower level we have a combination of carpet, hardwood and tile. It is a very open floor plan so there are spots where the vacuum can go from one side of the house to the other. Now, if you are OCD these types of devices are not for you! I'll get to that in a bit. Starting with the setup you do need to have a flat wall with about three feet of open space on both sides so beware. Setup is simple, once you find a spot for the docking station and snap in the side brushes, simply place it in the dock to charge. It charged in about an hour. Programming the remote was equally easy and was completed in about a minute. You can easily set a schedule for the vacuum to run. I do mine overnight so no one, including the animals, are distracted by it. I do like watching it but that's another story. When it starts it comes out the dock and goes to work easily transitioning from hardwood floors to a deep frieze carpet without any problems. Now I had the assumption before using it that it would clean in fairly straight lines adjusting for furniture and walls; not so much. This is where people with OCD will have an issue (this includes my wife which is why I have it clean at night). It cleans in a completely random pattern and I do mean random. It may make a straight line through the room, get to the wall (sensors do not let it hit the wall) and instead of making a turn close to 180 degrees and coming back next to the line it just went down, it may make a left turn about 35 degrees and go until it approaches a piece of furniture then turn 60 degrees to the right and so on. It will eventually cover everything but in the most random of fashions. If you can deal with all the randomness then you'll be fine, or run it at night when you don't have to watch. As for it's cleaning ability, it does pretty good even cleaning under some of our furniture without having to move it. I look at this as a device that will keep things clean in between full vacuuming. It does come with strips that you can put on the floor so you can restrict areas easily. It did sense the stairs and did not fall down them so no need to put a strip there. Overall it does a good job and is amazingly quiet, remember I run it at night and don't hear it. I would like to see a few enhancements including, learning a room layout and not requiring so much space for the dock. Still it's like a device from the Jetson's has entered my home.

Great Robot Vacuum but now I want the Shark 750!

The Shark Ion Robot 720 is Shark's mid range robot vacuum. The 750 being the top of the range, and the 700 being the base model.. The 720 comes with a remote and has HEPA filters but lacks WiFi and Google Home/Alexa integration. As a vacuum cleaner, the Shark Ion Robot 720 is great vacuum cleaner. We were impressed with the ability to pick up dirt, cat hair and it made our clean house feel like we were not so clean. The dust container is a good size and Shark recommend cleaning the HEPA filter weekly. There's a great Spot Clean feature (remote or button on top) if you need the Ion Robot to focus on just a particular mess (spilled cereal, dirty doorway, etc). The included LCD remote is intuitive, easy to use and you can schedule cleaning or send it back to the dock. It's kind of cool just making the Shark Ion Robot 720 head off and do cleaning while you sit on the couch and relax. Worth noting, the vacuum is not too loud. It didn't terrify our cat and the included dock is good and the Shark Ion Robot 720 docked happily and easily when it needed more power. I do kind of wish I had the Shark 750 instead which has WiFi support, an App and integrates with Google Home/Amazon Alexa, as it would be fun to go Alexa, clean the house. It's not a deal breaker - but if you're into smart homes, go for the 750. As a robot, the Shark Ion Robot 720 is good but Shark's management of how to navigate rooms is a bit intrusive. To mark "no go" zones, the Ion Robot 720 come with black tape called "bot boundary". This black tape is stuck on your floor to say "don't go here". This is where Robot Vacuums get challenged. In an apartment - you end up with a lot of black tape blocking no go areas. In a larger home, you may not need the tape but either way, you need to stick down the tape. Which honestly, feels intrusive. No robot vacuum has this perfect yet and tape is easier to install than what other robot vacuum cleaner makers offer, but it would be great if you could just train it on you home floor plan and say "avoid here". One day. Would I buy this again - yes, but if you can stretch to the 750 do it.

I am mesmerized by the Shark ION Robot 720 as I write this review and watch it wander the first floor of my home [2/3 hard (vinyl and hardwood) and 1/3 soft (plush carpet)] while we watch TV. The randomness of the vacuum makes me feel guilty for being so lazy but at the same time, it is getting under things better than our upright vacuum. The dirt bin is surprisingly small (minus one star). We had thoroughly vacuumed/scrubbed the first floor only a few days before first use. I started the vacuum when we left the house, returned about 3 hours later and it was done. Not sure if it finished because the bin was full or it if actually covered the entire 1100 sq ft. Regardless, we were shocked to picked up that much dirt. The robot is a bit louder on the hard surfaces than carpet. Watching TV we have had to click the volume up two notches to compensate while the robot is on the hard floors. One of our area rugs has a curl on the corner and confused the robot. The other area rugs (rubber no-skid bottom) were vacuumed no problem. Virtually no assembly required. There are spare brushes and a filter, as well as a magnetic rubber strip you can cut and use to create boundaries and borders for the vacuum. This model does not integrate with a mobile app. I suppose there are pros and cons to that. The pro, it is good for older folks who may not have smartphones. The cons, if you lose the remote I am not sure how you would change the scheduled vacuuming. Either way, the remote is simple to use and the instructions are printed on the back of the remote so you don't need to hold on to the manual. We bought this model primarily for the hard surfaces that tend to get a lot of dust in the corners and along the walls/baseboards and under tables. So far it has done a good job of reducing the visible dirt and dust in those areas and picks up debris from the carpet as well.

I have never had a robotic vacuum before, but this one was a bit lacking, though would be ok for small rooms. The problem is that for larger rooms it never gets a chance to get back to it's charging station on it's own, as it runs out of a charge in about an hour of cleaning. In that one hour of cleaning, it does an ok job, but never gets to complete the room I have been using it in, because it runs out of power. It takes 3 hours to charge again before you can run it. I do like that it is very quiet, and that it can go under furniture! In fact, that is probably what I like most about it. Also, it performs best on hardwood floors, and less well on carpet, as it is not high powered enough as a traditional vacuum for carpets in my opinion. If you have a pet that sheds a lot, I could totally see this ION ROBOT as being very handy in smaller rooms.

    A Quiet Robot Vaccum

The Shark Ion Robot vacuum is great. I allows me a bit of extra time in the week, since I know my floors will be clean. After 4 days of using it, I have been continually impressed. It seems to pick up just as much debris as my upright vacuum would. Goodbye manual cleaning! The only issue is that I have to remember to empty the collection bin on the unit, as it fills up in just a few vacuuming sessions. I was very pleased with the volume of the Ion. It is much quieter than expected, and it is easy to watch TV or read with it working in the next room. I was also impressed at the Ion's mobility. Robot vacuums I have used in the past were not a good fit for me, as they could not mount my rugs. The Ion is able to transition from wood floor, to carpet, and to rugs, with no issues. Previous vacuums were not useful if they could vacuum everything but my rugs. With the Ion, it is able to hit everything, which is great. The Ion also comes a means to block it from entry into areas you may not want it to go. The unobtrusive strip can be laid down, and the Ion will no pass over it. I use this to prevent it from coming into my office, TV room, or bedroom, wherever I am at the moment.

If you hate vacuuming, chances are you are going to love the Shark Ion Robot. As promised, the remote controlled RV720 handles that dreaded chore for you with a combination of good design and hi-tech electronics. As with all of these robotic vacs, this one is not perfect. Despite the impressive AI, it's still going to miss a few spots and get itself into a jam every now and then. And it may not always pick up every speck of dirt. But it does a pretty amazing job, all thing considered, especially if you have a home with hard floors. Just realize these low power robotic vacs are never going to be able to compete with the much more powerful cousins, which are what you really need if your house still is mostly wall to wall carpet. The nice thing about the Ion Robot is it is dead simple. Unpack the big round machine, remove all the stickers, attach the two cat whiskers -- little spinning brushes that pull in dirt and let you clean right up to the edges of walls -- and you are good to go. Well, you still have to charge the thing of course. Plug in the dock. Turn on the Ion. Place the Ion in the dock. Once the light shows a full charge (about three hours), hit the "clean" button on the remote or the Ion, stand back and prepare to be amazed. The Ion immediately goes to work, cleaning and bouncing off walls and furniture as it figures out where it can and cannot go. It seems to prefer running long diagonals from walls and then bumping lightly off obstacles to get its bearings. While the Ion is smart, it does not appear to be smart enough to acutally map the rooms it is cleaning. From all appearances it is mostly a touch and go approach, with perhaps a short term memory when banging around in tight places. I have all hard floors and two cats, so there is always lots of cat hair and cat litter to pick up. The Ion did an admirable job there, even engaging in a series of turn and bumps against long walls and obstacles to clean right up to the edge. I ran it over a fairly large area, perhaps 1000 square feet and was surprised to see it clean in what appeared to be a random pattern. It seemed to get stuck in some areas more than others, repeatedly cleaning a cluttered area near the front door. But its memory seemed to good enough to basically sweep the entire floor -- in areas where it could reach. This thing is a godsend if you have tables or beds that are hard to clean under. If there is enough clearance -- about three inches -- the Ion will happily run underneatch and grab all the dirt it can find. It can even navigate around dining room chair legs if there is enough room but sometimes has to bounce around a bit to find a clear way out. For those parts of the house just too cluttered for automatic cleaning, Shark includes a "bot barrier," a heavy flat plastic coated tape that can be cut to to the proper size to block doorways or surround furniture or sections of the room the robot should not enter. The Ion will not cross the "bot barrier" There is also an odd "spot" cleaning mode, in which the Ion will run a spiral pattern in a circle about 3 feet wide, and then stop. As with all tech devices, however, this one is not without a few shortcomings. The biggest is the small size of the dirt cup. It is only a few inches across and less than an inch deep. In other words, it won't hold much so you should plan on running this thing every couple of days instead of just once a week. Fortunately, you can program it do that and stop worrying, as long as you don't forget to empty the cannister after each cleaning. The other big caveat concerns the basic limitation of a battery powered vacuum cleaner this small. It just doesn't have the suction or the ability to pick up stuck on dirt like a plug in model with a much more powerful motor and power head. It's fine with light dirt, dust bunnies, cat hair, cat litter and similar small stuff. Anything bigger may be a challenge. Also be aware this device is what might be described as "high maintenance." Shark recommends replacing the main roller every 6 to 12 months, the dust bin filter every two months (you get an extra one with the Ion) and the front caster wheel every year. And all of those items have to be checked and cleaned a weekly basis. If you can live with that, you probably will be fan of the Shark Ion Robot. It takes care of chore most people hate and does not cost and arm and a leg.

I've considered a robot vacuum cleaner for many years but never thought they could get the job done properly. I was right to a point. I have a lot of chairs, tables, and things on the floor that I thought would be obstacles for the robot, but I was wrong about that. This robot travels the floor and makes so many passes it eventually gets around everything. Using it's little spinning brushes, it's able to get the edges of the furniture but still can't get into extreme corners. I then had to pull out my other stick vacuum to get into those corners. Also, It's only good for one floor as far as I can tell, because if it maps out the floor and obstacles and then you take it to a different floor, it would have to re-map the first floor again. Also, it obviously can't do steps so out comes the other vacuum again. I was impressed on the amount of dust and hair it picked up only a few days after I vacuumed with the other vacuum. It amazes me how it's able to go back to it's charging base when completed.

The Shark - ION ROBOT 720 Vacuum with optional scheduled cleaning is a great robot vacuum.I had to condition the battery for first time use by giving it a full charge before any use and then allowing it to completely drain. A blue light indicator flashes during charging and reduces bars as power discharges during use. While charging the battery, I programmed the Shark - ION ROBOT 720 Vacuum with optional scheduled cleaning, by using the remote control. I set the date and time which then made it able to program cleaning throughout the week at various times of the day. The programming process is simple to do and becomes easily repetitive. I turned on the Shark - ION ROBOT 720 Vacuum with optional scheduled cleaning manually by pressing the clean button on the vacuum, pressing the clean button on the remote aimed at the vacuum, and scheduling for the automatic operation of the vacuum. The Shark - ION ROBOT 720 Vacuum with optional scheduled cleaning does a good job of maneuvering around an apartment. It spends a thorough amount of time cleaning each new area or room it enters. When I emptied the dust bin, I was surprised by the amount of pick up that the Shark - ION ROBOT 720 Vacuum with optional scheduled cleaning had done. It was able to also go up a small elevation to clean my bathroom. Maintenance instructions are straightforward and easy to do. There are boundary strips included to block the Shark - ION ROBOT 720 Vacuum with optional scheduled cleaning from traveling into unwanted areas. The Shark - ION ROBOT 720 Vacuum with optional scheduled cleaning is a fun machine to own. I enjoy turning it on and sitting back to relax, while having my floors and rugs cleaned.

    Alice loves dog hair

We named the Shark Robot Vac "Alice". Had it for nearly a year now and it has really taken the work out of vacuuming up the dog hair in our bedroom and hallway. She runs everyday and cleans up the hair from our two Labs. We used to have to vac the area 3-4 times a week but now less than once a week. We usually stop her after about 1/2 an hour to empty the bin because she does such a good job of picking up the hair and dust and then we empty the bin and blow the dust out of the filter daily. Cleaning her takes about 2 minutes daily. We're both in our 70's and she is a great help. We put the charging station under a dresser and she finds it 99% of the time. She rarely gets stuck. If we leave the dust ruffle on the bed an inch or so from the floor, she cleans under the bed. We will be adding a second Shark Robot to do the living room very soon. Terrific product!

After the initial 10 minute setup; this system was ready to cleanup... Quiet then any previous robotic vacuum I have owned, or seen. It meticulously goes through in arcing patterns, and cleans. It takes a while for it to learn the room, but as it does you can see it cleanup. It is almost funny to watch it the first few times to see if it is going to "get that spot". Setup is easy, just snap a few brushes on, and plug in the base. Probably the hardest part is figuring out where you will put the recharging base, and you will probably move it once or twice. The only negative, so far... is the "boundary" system is a little clunky, especially if you don't have a throw rug or other means to hide the metallic strip. But depending on your usage, that may not even be an issue for most. Bigger picture... this little robot does wonders to cleanup on a daily basis. You can schedule it to run once a day, or every other day, etc. Don't throw away your big vacuum just yet though. This robot isn't going to do everything. It can't do carpeted stairs, and tight spaces, where you have to move things. under the sofa, no... So you are going to want to keep that other vacuum around for that once a few weeks deeper clean. Robot works great on both carpet AND hardwood (we actually have it targeted now mostly for our hardwood area, as that is the higher traffic area).

The Shark ION Robot is now my new best friend! I love this thing. Since having a newborn its hectic trying to find time to clean around the house and when you do there's not much time to do it. I can leave the Shark ION Robot to do its thing in the background with no worries while I'm taking care of the baby. Its so easy. The unit itself is pretty slick, i like how it looks. It is also light and quieter than i expected which is a plus. In the box it comes with the unit itself, charging dock, BotBoundry Strip, Scheduling Remote, Cleaning tool, 4 side brushes and an extra HEPA filter. It is easy to set up, i had it up and running straight out of the box in less than 5 minutes. All you need to do is plug the charging dock in the wall and attach 2 side brushes to the unit by just popping them in and that is all. You can also use the BotBoundry Strips to place near areas that you dont want the Shark ION to go. The remote also allows you to set scheduled cleaning times which is also another reason why i love it. It is also easy to clean, just pop out the dust bin on the side of the unit and dump it out. Although the dust bin may not be as big as your conventional stand up vacuum its what you get for its form factor which in my opinion is not a bad thing.

This is an great vacuum and alternative to the other more expensive brand Unboxing is simple, assembly even easier (snap on a couple of side sweeps), and scheduling is quick. The instructions on the remote is too simple, so refer to the manual to set-up effectively The unit is quiet in operations and does a remarkable job with no effort. Schedule and forget. Just empty the bin a couple of times per week. I scheduled mine to go M-F, and the first few time I emptied every day, but once it caught up, once a week was fine The units navigation seems effective, and so far I have not had to untangle it anywhere. My house has carpet, rugs, tile and wood floors, and it covers all no problem Overall, Shark is an upcoming brand that is offering great products with a value price

I must admit that I was skeptical at first whether this would keep my floors clean. After emptying the dust cup following the first use, I was shocked by how much "stuff" was in there. While this doesn't pick up "everything" from the floors, it does do a great job of catching most of it. More importantly, my 4-year-old loves to turn it on and have it "chase" him around the house, so he is now willing to clean up all of his toys at the end of the day to make sure they don't get sucked up by the "vacuum sweeper". The dock and vac just fit under my entertainment center, so it's "home" is tucked away nicely, but the remote still works well with it. So far, the robovac has managed to find it's way home every time.
