I have a 1200sqft house with hardwood through out I use on lowest setting and use about 10% battery life per vacuum.

Im a Shark fan and purchase Sharks for gifts. This was a big purchase for me. I implore you to read reviews. This design is the best but mostly the worst! Keep a coin handy to unclog it frequently. And get something to shove up the flex hose because by the time you know it clogged, its packed tight and is impossible to budge. Others have mentioned the plastic parts and the lock screws on mine already have wear. Its too late for me to return.

Shark Cordless Vertex Stick Vac Does A Good Job

Another cordless stick vacuum, this one the Shark Cordless Vertex Pro. What differentiates this model from the sea of others and what, if any, are standout features? **WHAT’S IN THE BOX** • Shark Cordless Vertex Pro Stick Vacuum (in pieces) • Attachments include eight inch crevice tool, pet multi-tool and anti-allergen dusting brush • Battery charger • Documentation **THE SETUP** The parts assemble easily. Operation can be in upright configuration as well as handheld by removing the extension tube. Accessories fit well and operate as expected. Other than the main brush, none of the accessories are powered. Once assembled, and once the manual has been studied, it’s time to put it to the test, even before charging. It arrived with a 50% charge. **PUT TO THE TEST** A first observation is that it is noisier than expected. As with any stick vacuum, cleaning a bare floor requires only the lowest suction setting. Featuring “deep-cleaning DuoClean™ PowerFins™ and a self-cleaning brushroll to get rid of hair wrap” it’s time to test this. As can be seen in the photo, there are two as in “Duo” brushes in the business end. I was pleased with how well it did and how easily that assembly was able to be cleaned. Very little dirt and only one hair can be seen after cleaning three rooms. The self-cleaning feature appears to work! Also notice the three circular gray screw heads. With a gentle, tiny turn counterclockwise in the direction shown next to each one, the entire bottom shield comes off for cleaning underneath, including if a clog needs to be cleared. The front brush is removeable with a small button at the right side. Pressing that button ejects the brush for easy cleaning. Returning it to its position, it snaps back in place. The Multiflex wand is easily articulated to allow cleaning deep under furniture. It may look odd, but it works well. Onto low pile rugs, another success and still no mess in the roller assembly. The brush head articulates nicely to either side making steering very easy. The head is not too wide, making it easy to navigate into spaces a traditional upright and some other stick vacs would not fit. At first look, it was a mystery how stowage would work since it is not supplied with a stand and it is too top heavy to stand upright on its own. After reading the manual, I saw that free standing in an upright position is accomplished only by rotating the handle/motor/bin assembly forward and down after pressing a release button below the dust cup. This lowers the center of gravity so the entire vacuum will remain steady and upright. That’s a smart idea though odd looking. It is also much less expensive a design than to have to provide a charging stand. During use, however, it will not stand upright on its own. There are multiple settings and modes for every surface: • A hard floor setting in which the Hard Floor icon illuminates and the brushrolls spin slowly to clean bare floors and small rugs. • A carpet setting in which the Carpet icon illuminates and the brushrolls spin more quickly to pick up dirt down deposited down into the fibers below the carpet’s surface. • Suction Power Modes vary between ECO, Deep Clean, and Boost Mode. The Vertex Pro does a good job vacuuming and the articulating accessories make it easy to clean crevices, dust and clean up inside vehicles. The dust cup has a greater capacity than many others in the category. On the lowest power and suction setting, the Shark can get up to an hour’s use, and as little as about 10 minutes at full power setting on a single charge of the removable battery. Charging is by a plug-in port near the top when the battery is installed. It will not operate while charging. HEPA filtration is said to capture and trap up to 99.9% of dust and allergens down to .3 microns. The main head is equipped with LED headlights that come on during all modes. These were not as effective as I had hoped. In my experience, a greenish color does a better job of showing floor level dirt, dust, and hair. Emptying the dust cup is with a push of the release button. Hold the assembly over a trash bag to minimize the flying dust. Regularly removing and cleaning the dust cup is recommended. This is accomplished by rinsing in the sink. Don’t forget to let it dry thoroughly before reassembly and reuse. What about maintenance? Disassembly for clearing a blockage is easy to do with guidance in the Owner’s Guide. The pre-motor foam filter and the felt filter are my least favorite design that is still used by Shark and some other makers. Through use, dirt clogs the pores and decreases effectiveness. At this price I would have expected a better design that minimizes maintenance requirements. Another brand that popularized the slogan, “never loses suction” has a better design, does a better job and has no such filters to clog. These Shark filters will require inspection after each use in order to determine how often cleaning will be needed. Cleaning consists of rinsing in plain water. I squeeze the water from the foam filter after rinsing to maintain peak performance and then it is important to let them both dry for 24 hours before reassembly. **CONCLUSION** I am impressed with its vacuuming performance and general operation. I can forgive what I criticized as poor filtration design and the odd bend-in-half design that allows for upright stowage. It is not the best I have used at its price point, but there is nothing to specifically recommend against this model. **WARRANTY** Shark Cordless Vertex Pro is covered by the manufacturer’s five year warranty. The Lithium Ion battery is covered by the manufacturer’s two year warranty.

Full home cleaning without a cord!

We have been Shark fans over the years and our go-to vacuum has been the ‘DuoClean Shark Lift Away Speed’. This Shark® Cordless Vertex™ Pro Vacuum has the same head width as the Lift Away and is about 6 lb’s lighter and cleans better. All without a cord. I have had two of the Lift Away models and my wife loves them. The only problem we have had with that model over time is the hose at the bottom, that goes from the wand to the vacuum head. After a few years that flexible vacuum tube cracks, and you cannot replace it. You must replace the whole head ($96 at the time). I don’t see a parts list for this Vortex Pro model yet, but it does appear you will be able to take the unit apart if needed. The hose also feels a little more pliable as well. So far so good Shark. Suction: This unit cleans great. It features a deep-cleaning DuoClean 2 roller system. You have the soft front roller and a new PowerFins self-cleaning brushroller. The back roller is designed to reduce the hair that wraps around it and pick up more dirt. Between these two rollers you really get a clean floor very quickly. This vacuum cleans our area rugs pretty well. I have tried multiple vacuums that will not handle these light area rugs at all. You have three buttons on the control unit. Power button, Hard Floor/ Carpet button and a Suction button. The hard floor setting allows you two slow down the brush roller speed. Then you also have a suction mode which gives you 3 settings, eco mode, deep clean mode, and a boost mode. Between all these options you really can find the mode you need for all cleaning situations. I like the battery power indicator as well. It shows a large digital readout of percentage of battery left. Battery Life: I was a bit concerned with only getting one battery, but I was pleasantly surprised at how long it does last. I was able to clean both floors in my house with one charge. That amounts to about 3 to 4000 square feet of mostly carpet. Pretty impressive. Ease of Use: The first thing both my wife and I noticed is that when you are pulling back on the vacuum, the back of the head (wheels) lifts off the ground on thicker high pile carpet. It appears the rear of the head is almost too light. It still appears to clean good regardless. I found that I could keep the head flat to the floor by going slower, applying pressure in a downward fashion on the grip or holding the handle closer to the ground. (-1/2 star) This does not appear to happen on lower pile carpet or hard floors. Break away handle: What a great feature. You can push a button to break away the handle to get under beds, furniture etc. and fold it completely in half for storage. This is one negative that I always found with other stick vacs as you could never store them without leaning them against a wall or hanging it on a charging rack. The Shark Vertex Pro can stand all by itself when folded in half. LOVE THIS FEATURE! Attachments: The pet multi tool, Crevice tools and Dusting brush all work great. The Anti-allergen Dusting brush reaches nicely under things like washers and dryers. Cleaning: Hold the vacuum over a garbage can and press the dust cup release button. This makes opening the bottom cover easy to clean the unit, however I found much of the pet fur stayed in the top of the cup, so I had to shake hard or reach in with a tool or my fingers to get it out. It would be nice if the whole dust cup would slide down to help release the dirt off the inner filter, or Shark could include a flexible clean stick to pull or push the dirt out. I do have 2 dogs, so the cup fills with fur every time (-1/2 star). You also have a pre-motor foam and felt filter to clean along with a post-motor HEPA filter. Manual recommends cleaning (rinse with water) of the Pre-motor filters once per month and post-motor once per year. The soft Roller comes out easily with a side button located on the side of the head unit. I don’t see a way to remove the back roller. Overall, I really like this vacuum. Love not having a cord and it simply cleans great.

    Excellent cordless vacuum

The Shark’s Duo Clean head, anti-hair wrap (no hair tangling), and suction technology make this an excellent vacuum. The Duo Clean means the floor head has two rollers; in the front is a soft roller, and in the back, it's a brush roller. Both, combined, give the ability to provide a better seal for vacuuming on both hard floors and carpets. Using the rollers head, the vacuum still runs very smoothly to handle and effortlessly maneuvers, especially the hard floors. The IQ display control panel placement near the handle allows for easy change of the settings (Power On/Off, hard floor or carpet, and the suction power level). The three suction levels power setting helps save battery life by using only the suction strength needed. For quick or light cleaning, the lowest level will be more than sufficient, conserving battery life. The power boost should be used for deep cleaning or larger dirt piles to prolong battery usage. I hardly use the boost power since the lower setting can do a good job. Both rollers are well-designed, and they resist hair tangled. The filtration with it’s anti-allergen technology means it is perfect for those with an allergy because it uses a HEPA filter. When I use the vac, I hardly smell leaks. The battery is a plus for larger area (bigger-houses) cleaning since it is removable and replaceable (can purchase additional battery). Its battery life is excellent, and its duration depends on the settings and the attachment/accessory. With the DUO clean rollers and the lowest level suctioning power, I get about 35 minutes of runtime. Very impressive for a cordless vac! The 60 minutes runtime advertised is the vacuum used handheld (not the Duo Cleaning roller) with the additional accessory tool. The noise level is decent, not very loud compared to other vacs. The multiFlex wand is excellent for easy storage and to clean hard-to-reach under furniture floors. It comes with three useful attachments. Shark cordless Vertex Pro has incredible pickup power on hard floors and carpets, even larger piles of debris. It is perfect for fine debris, like dust and sand. Overall, this product has power, and you can tell base on its suctioning.

POWERFUL CORDLESS UPRIGHT VACCUM FROM SHARK

SHARK CORDLESS VERTEX PRO VACUUM – Model IZ662H Best Buy Tech Insider Network POWERFUL CORDLESS UPRIGHT VACCUM FROM SHARK Between home and office I have 4 shark vacs and each one is better than the last. Thus, I can easily say with confidence that the SHARK CORDLESS VERTEX PRO VACUUM is the best one yet in terms of power and performance and ease of use. What makes the SHARK CORDLESS VERTEX PRO VACUUM unique is that it is more powerful than many corded models, of course it goes without saying that it is cordless, and the best part is how the wand bends for easier cleaning under tables. The SHARK CORDLESS VERTEX PRO VACUUM folds in half so that it is perfectly balanced and does not fall over. INITIAL IMPRESSIONS Everything is carefully packaged (each piece is wrapped in its own bag), easy to assemble and intuitive to utilize. On the SHARK CORDLESS VERTEX PRO VACUUM, the controls and LED readouts are simple and have a common sense layout. We seem to be getting about 30 minutes in average upright use. For us this means, do a room or two then recharge. Usually this is OK as we are not usually vacuuming the entire house at one go. The built-in meter shows how much power is left in the battery. It looks like you will be able to buy extra batteries. In boost mode (more power) I was measuring about 80 decibels (equivalent to a lawnmower). The control panel is also where you select between carpet and hard floor. PRO’s - Super Flexible Main Wand (Stick) – for under furniture - Very Powerful Suction - Stands by itself - Good assortment of tools - Self Cleaning Roller - Swappable Battery (extra battery not included) RECCOMENDATION The SHARK CORDLESS VERTEX PRO VACUUM is one of the most powerful upright (stick) vacuums I’ve used. The cordless convenience is very nice, but it comes at a trade off in run time. As long as you are not trying to vacuum the entire house at one time it should perform well or most people. If you do need a longer run time, then you can get optional extra batteries. As I’ve said, I’ve had many Shark products and they all run great. If you are looking for cordless vac convenience, then give the SHARK CORDLESS VERTEX PRO VACUUM a closer look.

The vacuum itself is nice. It seems quite powerful for a battery-operated unit. The two beater bars are nice, and you get three power settings. I have used it to pick up pet hair, and it works well. It also has a "trick" where the wand folds over. You can get under furniture, and it collapses to a smaller size for storage. Being able to get under furniture easily does actually make a difference, and is quite handy! Highly recommended. There is also a carpet and a bare floor setting that adjusts the speed of the beater bars. The unique thing (in my experience) is that it does not have a "wall hanger" for storage. This is not good or bad, just different. You only get one battery, and it charges via a "wall wart" that has a cable that plugs into a jack on the back of the battery itself. There is no cradle that you drop the battery into, and you can charge the battery either on or off of the vacuum. The only real problem is that there is no storage for the accessories (crevice tool, upholstery tool, etc.) on the vacuum itself. Since there is no wall hanger, that means that there is no storage at all. You will have to find a drawer or basket to put the accessories in. Also, since the accessories use a special mount (not the usual cylindrical tube), these cannot be shared across different devices. No using these tools with a corded vac, or using the corded vac's tools on this. That is the only real flaw in an otherwise fantastic product.

I was absolutely surprised with how much actual suction this vacuum has! The attachments are great but my favorite one is the one for blinds, finally something with a soft gentle pad. If you’ve seen pictures you’ve noticed that the arm bends so that you can reach under beds without having to bend over. I also love how you can fold it in half and it takes up about a foot of area. Personally there were equal downsides: the charging cable is in an awkward spot, the battery only lasts about 20 minutes which is the biggest bummer. Overall, this is a great second spot cleaning vacuum but don’t anticipate that it will replace your main machine. Oh, and I love the bristle in the front of the brush attachment. When you run it against the wall it’s collecting dust in the EDGE (why hasn’t anyone thought of this?!) I am using my upstairs in the high traffic area for quick clean ups!

I’ve owned a couple of cordless stick vacuum cleaners but in my honest opinion Shark® Cordless Vertex™ Pro Vacuum is the one cordless vacuum that can actually replace your corded vacuum cleaner. First, the included battery is strong enough to provide power equivalent to a standard vacuum cleaner. But you might say other cordless vacuums can also do the same. Well this vacuum can go on for an hour. But you may say again that so do others. Well yes but not at this price point. But really, it’s not all about the price alone. One strong feature I like is the Multiflex wand which is actually the main rod being able to fold in order to reach spaces under tables and the like. This feature is notably absent in most stick vacuum cleaners, corded or not corded. Furthermore, the Multiflex wand can fully folded for storage eliminating the need for a hanging rack or even disassembling it for storage. (See pictures.) Also, the included filters are hand washable unlike most vacuum cleaners outer. This alone adds to cost savings from frequently buying filters for your vacuum. It has a digital display which shows power mode, hard floor or carpet mode. The canister and filters are removable which is pretty standard. It has dual self cleaning fins in the roller and is fairly easy to remove for cleaning. And it has lights which is a convenient feature but I personally don’t really need. Bu it is nice to have. Operation in a nutshell is pretty much simple and for the most part reading the manual can be dispensed with though I still recommend it though. Accessories inside the package include the battery charger (of course), a crevice tool, a dusting brush and a multi-angle dusting brush. But there is an additional seven tools that can be purchased separately if you need them. Overall, the Shark® Cordless Vertex™ Pro Vacuum is not only a solid performer but also a value for money vacuum cleaner that can actually replace any regular vacuum cleaner. I would strongly recommend this one compared to other vacuum cleaners out there.

Move over Dyson! Reasons why Shark is better.

I love cordless stick vacs that blur the boundary between a full upright and quick in-between touchup. Pros: • No hair wrap rollers • Intuitive and innovative design • Workhorse Cons: • Only one battery (can buy more) • No attachment organization or holder • Emptying the dustbin isn’t 100% hands off (more on this below) I started with a Dyson cordless stick and loved everything about it. Until I tried the Sharks, the bang for the buck is where these Shark’s shine. Don’t get me wrong, I do love my Dyson but the Shark Vertex has everything the Dyson has and more. They both have great suction and does a great job transitioning between hard floors and carpets. It’s Shark Vertex’s unique design of being able to bend in the middle is what makes this stick vacuum stand out from the competition. The ability to bend in the middle with a press of a button is pure genius. The bend in the middle allows for 2 critical positions. First position is able to vacuum underneath couches or chairs without bending down or moving furniture. Second position is “storage” so you can free-stand the vacuum without wall mounting it. I have no good location to wall mount a vacuum so instead of propping it against a corner and finding it on the floor moments later, this Shark Vertex can STAND ON ITS OWN!!!!! Pure genius and something a Dyson can’t do. I’ve had the first gen of this vacuum for years and love that the updated Vertex kept the design. The improvements they made on the Vertex since the first gen is the new no-hair-tangle roller design and the digital display showing battery percentage. The No-hair-wrap-roller is kind of a big deal. A lot of manufacturers are using this updated roller design and rightly so. Who has time to pull the rollers out to cut and untangle hair wrapped around the roller? I don’t see any loss of performance going to this new style roller than the traditional bristle roller. It is a bit noisier due to the design of the roller but not enough to cause a concern. The Vertex also kept the “Duo Clean” front roller from the 1st gen. The front roller helps guide cheerios into the suction area instead of scattering it around on hard floors. One disappointment from previous generation is that they use to come with 2 batteries. The new Vertex only comes with 1 battery so plan your cleanings accordingly. Another slight annoyance is the dustbin. The dustbin door is easy to open or take off the actual unit. It’s the emptying of the dustbin is annoying. 4 out of 5 times, I will need to reach into the dustbin with my hands to help it empty. Yuck. Not saying this is a unique problem with Sharks since I have yet to come across a dustbin that’s completely hands off. The included tools are useful but I do wish they would have a crevice attachment holder that clips onto the vacuum so I can easily and quickly swap between vacuuming and crevice tool when needed. I have to carry the crevice tool in my freehand while vacuuming. I know, 1st world problems but my hoover stick vacuum has a built in crevice tool holder. Why can’t Shark? Also, the release button is on the actual attachment and not on vacuum. This allows 1 handed attachment changes. Good job there Shark! In summary, I do highly recommend the Shark Vertex. Buy a 2nd or 3rd battery and it has the potential to clean your whole house and be a full upright vacuum replacement.

    Interesting concept for a vacuum

This is my 4th Shark vacuum - I have one on each floor and at my son's apartment. The Vertex Pro with MultiFLEX is interesting not only in how the unit stores, but how it feels and operates with in the FLEX mode - a bit awkward in my opinion. I'll admit it does a decent job cleaning, is light and maneuverable and certainly able reach under bed, chairs, couches, etc. The Power fins work great - with two labs and a cat two long haired women in the house, I haven't yet noticed any buildup of hair on the rollers or anywhere underneath. Battery run time is average, less than the full 60 min as advertised, but I run it at full suction strength. Charging is also a bit awkward - you have to plug the battery into a little 1/4" jack. I would have expected a charging station or something....so now I have yet another power adapter and charger to try not to lose. Overall - it's a unique concept for a vacuum that provides solid cleaning and flexibility. If you're looking for a cordless vacuum option - this may fit the need for you!

Great suction on wood/ laminate/ area rugs in our home. Tracks and turns well. Low profile allows us to get under majority of furniture. No scratch marks on wood/ laminate. We have 2 dogs so that we use every other day if not every day. Battery life is good on settings 1 and 2; significantly shorter as you use 3rd boost. Easy to clean filters, empty canister, and store.

My Dyson 8 died. I was under warranty so I thought it would just have a battery replacement. However, Best Buy doesn't fix something that they replace, there were not Dysons available. No clue as to went they would come in. I was desperate for something. We have an older Shark that was used in the house but was now used out on our lanai because I had the Dyson. So I thought well let's give the Shark a try. It does work well, picks up has long battery life I was able to clean the whole house with it. The only drawback it is a little noisy. I think because of the power it has. I love the fold-down feature to keep it out of the way. This is a real plus. It is heavier than the Dyson, so that is a drawback for me, since I have a bad back. How ever once I got use to the feel it was ok. Yes I would recommend this to someone.

This vacuum is amazing. I have owned several Sharks and upgraded my previous cordless Shark to this model because I was sick of all the hair wrap! This model definitely works in regards to preventing hair from wrapping around the brush heads! Also battery life is great and it has a lot of power for being a cordless model! Would definitely recommend. Better than Dyson!

Love this vacuum! I’ve had it a year now and it runs smooth, easy to clean, and picks up very well.
