Customers commend the Vertex UltraLight DuoClean PowerFins Corded Stick Vacuum's powerful suction, lightweight design, and ease of use. Many appreciate its long cord and effective carpet cleaning capabilities, while some find the noise level and dustbin size to be drawbacks. The vacuum's performance and convenient storage are also frequently praised. However, a few users reported issues with overheating and the vacuum's inability to stand upright on its own.

I think I'm in love. We have an older Shark Rocket stick vac that is probably 10 yrs old. Over the years we've lost this attachment or that attachment so some versatility is lost, and it has a bristle roller head so it gets all matted up and you have to cut stuff off- basically a huge pain in a house with women, 2 shorthair cats, and a short hair dog. The pets shed, you just don't see it ......until now! It still does a good job for being a 10 yr old vacuum. I got this new stick vac today, and it's basically the same one we have, but w/attachments, a better motor, its lighter, has a longer cord, a different head with no bristles...and a warranty (not that I think ill need it based on the other one still kicking around). Here's the point of this mini-monologue. I used the new vac a few minutes ago on the carpeted stairs coming down to the basement, about 12 steps, short pile carpet. It's an open stairwell so stuff collects from the front door next to it and everywhere else and ends up getting tracked down the steps. I vacuumed yesterday with the old Shark vac. I had no attachment other than the top part and the tube so I did the best I could, but got them pretty clean- better than they were. I hooked up the new vac and just used the handle end and one of the small heads, and the crevasse tool. I knew I'd pick up stuff that I missed yesterday but holy crap.....and, if you are wondering, Sharks rotating fins instead of a brush are amazeballs. No hair on the roller at all. None. We have a 10 yr old full-size Dyson that we got used that doesn't pick up this well. It's pricey, but I'm partially disabled, and bending, squatting, and even standing and moving around on some days is literally a show-stopper that I pay for later or the next day. I have to economize my motion and save it up for the good days when I can be motivated AND mobile. This vacuum is heaver with the full head attached than our other Shark, but the motor end isn't that much different in weight, and the aluminum tubing actually seems lighter than the plastic on my other one. Once I get the optional 2 ft mini hose to connect to the motor I'm going to be golden. This vacuum will allow me to clean twice as much in the same time frame (an estimate if you will). That makes it worth it, to me.

This is an awesome vacuum. Its lightweight and has enough power. I have used used on carpet as well as hardwood and it impresses every time. The carpet becomes fluffy after use and it pulls out a bunch of dust. For me, the best part is that the brush roll is self cleaning. No tangles. The accessories are nice and easy to use. The cord is long. Reaches every corner of my 700sqft 1st floor when plugged centrally. super flexible and slides under tables and sofas. The brushroll has an array of tiny LEDs that help see the dust. The vacuum has 2 mode switches on the top. Definitely a solid purchase.

Very light yet still powerful enough to do the job. It fits under furniture very well reducing the need to move around stuff while cleaning. It is also detachable for multipurpose use.

I love this vacuum! Very strong , and amazing a picking up hair. It places hair (long hair) in a cone like metal net that allows you to remove the hair easily when emptying the collected dirt. I highly recommend this to everyone! I’ve had it for 2 years now and it’s still working great

Purchased the same time as a complete garbage Dyson model. I needed something light and easy my 7, 6 and 4 year old could use (they always want to vacuum) and also one I can use easily between and during a two part ACL revision surgery (woo hoo washed up athletes!) For what I was looking for for our specific needs, this thing is GOLDEN. No it won’t clean up after our Saint Bernard’s shedding blowouts, but that’s not why we purchased it. My 4 year old hasn’t stopped vacuuming since I bought it July 1st. It’s great for steps and quick hard floors and area rugs. Very happy with it. I can’t give 5 stars for value yet because I do think it’s a bit pricey but if it lasts a year with a lot of abuse, I’ll change to 5!

This Shark Vortex Ultralight Duo Clean Vacuum is a great little vac. There are some great features on this that make it a great option for a small stick vac with only minimal points for improvement. First off, construction of this vacuum is very nice. The ergonomics are on point and it feels very nice in your hand while using. The layout of the buttons are as such that it is very easy to use with a single hand. The build quality is solid and well thought out and it is light! Assembly was extremely easy and it breaks down for different uses. This vacuum is very mobile and gets under every piece of furniture I have with ease. The light on the front is nice and bright so you can see where you're cleaning if there is not a lot of light. This comes with attachments to easily clean corners, stairs, furniture, cars, etc. I love the self cleaning brush roll. Not once have I yet had to pull hair out and clean it myself. The suction it great and it picks up dirt fast! Clean up is very simple as it has an easily detachable dirt cup. I did find that the dirt cup did fill up somewhat fast since it's not very large. I wouldn't say this is a bad feature of this since it's supposed to be small and streamlined. Just don't expect to vacuum an entire house without having to empty the cup multiple times. I will also mention that if you are using this for a whole house, it will get pretty warm if you use it for an extended period of time; not hot, just warm. Overall, I think that this is a pretty nice, light weight, easily maneuverable, powerful suction corded stick vacuum. I would recommend to anyone looking for a nice versatile low profile vacuum.

Is amazing the suction of this beauty; I gave 4 * because it is a little heavy...ok I was using the cheapest Bissel vacuum, and after using the vacuum I used Lola Rola Sticky Mop™ w/ extender handle to lift all the hair on the carpet. With this vacuum Shark, good bye roll; also, this vacuum has a lot of accesories and a really good ones.

I have to say this vacuum is Great to pick up hair and dirt. I loose a lot of hair and it is in every room I go into. I have a Shark Rotator it's pretty good but I noticed that it doesn't pick up the loose hair on floor. I bought the Shark Vertex and it's wonderful. I cleaned my hardwood floors and I was amazed at how much hair it picks up. It leaves the floors very clean from crumbs and hair. I like it a lot.

As I get older I try extremely hard to 'work-smarter', not harder. And, this is especially true with my household appliances and equipment. My existing vacuum cleaner does a great job, but it is so heavy and hard to use. It is not multi-functional without dragging a heavy vacuum hose around with clumsy attachments. It was designed primarily for vacuuming floors, and, every other added function was an' afterthought'. To do above floor cleaning and dusting I need to use a ladder. At 77 years old ladders are no longer user-friendly to me for routine household chores. YUK! So. . . .when I was fortunate enough for the opportunity to review the Shark® Vertex™ UltraLight™ DuoClean® PowerFins Corded Stick Vacuum with Self-Cleaning Brushroll in exchange for the product I jumped at the chance. As I unboxed this Shark UltraLight™ I started to have doubts that this lightweight unit could come close to, or, even outperform my expensive floor vacuum. Mmmm? However, after 3 weeks of daily vacuuming, I now sing a different song. . . . . It took me only 5 minutes to assemble this Shark UltraLight™ and plug the unit in. I went over the included instruction booklet, which is an easy read featuring detailed illustrations. In 15 minutes I was vacuuming my Kitchen floor, which is vinyl tile. Within minutes my Kitchen floor was crumb free. WooHoo! My wife loves to bake and cook (no complaints from me). However, our Kitchen needs to be vacuumed daily (one of my honey-do jobs). My wife easily persuades me to clean our Kitchen floor with delicious cakes, pies, and other gastronomical baked goodies. YUM! Using our other vacuum I had to shut the brush roll OFF and plug in the auxiliary hose with extension tubes and connect a hard-floor brush attachment, which was too big to get under the fridge and dishwasher. Yikes! Yet, the Shark Vertex™ UltraLight™ roamed all over our Kitchen floor with ease and under the fridge, range, and dishwasher too. The soft roller found and devoured crumbs our pup, Cassie, couldn't find. Amazing! After three weeks of daily use this is what I found are major advantages of this Shark® Vertex™ UltraLight™ DuoClean® PowerFins Corded Stick Vacuum: * VACUUM PICKUP POWER – Performance is probably the most important reason to buy a vacuum cleaner in the first place. I was immediately impressed by the suction and debris pickup power of this stick vacuum. It is approximately 8 inches in width, which concentrates its suction power as against my wider existing floor vacuum at 12 inches wide with a twice as big, much heavier motor. * DUO CLEAN POWERFINS – My carpets are deep pile. I would constantly have to replace the two rotating brushes on my existing vacuum sweeper. My carpet would wear them out. However, I was quite pleased with the Shark DuoClean PowerFins technology for deep pile carpet cleaning. The flexible, silicone PowerFins on the Shark floor nozzle dig deep into my carpet for more thorough cleaning. WOW! Using the Solid Floor Setting slows down both the front-leading soft roller and PowerFins roller for efficient cleaning and pet hair removal. The Carpet Setting speeds up both rollers and makes the floor nozzle with its PowerFins glide over my carpets effortlessly. WooHoo! * CONTROLS – The topside LED lit controls are simple to operate. There is the Power Button, Bare Floor Setting, and Carpet Setting. Icons appear for the vacuum setting chosen so you know what floor setting is operating. How cool is that? The floor nozzle has a green LED indicator light when working properly. If the indicator light turns red, turn OFF the vacuum and disconnect the floor nozzle. The obstructions in the floor nozzle must be cleared before the indicator light will go back to green. * MULTIFUNCTIONAL VACUUM – At the top of this neatly assembled cleaning machine is the Handheld Vacuum, which weighs just under three pounds. Easily detachable it enables me to dust with the handheld Dusting Brush, which spins 180 degrees for both horizontal, or vertical dusting tasks. I can do most of my routine dusting with just the Handheld Vacuum and Dusting Brush (see pics). The Crevice Tool with Handheld Vacuum is just what I needed to clean my cars, in difficult to reach areas, and my sliding glass door tracks (see pics). What is the most important accessory to us is the Self-Cleaning Pet Power Brush. Like all puppies, our Cassie sheds hair, and this Pet Power Brush is fantastic at cleaning our couches, sofas, and chairs (see pics). I love Self-Cleaning, and this tool is unbelievable in capturing pet hair without the messy unrolling entrapped pet hair in the brushes. My expensive, high end, floor vacuum cannot do that. . . . * SENIOR FRIENDLY – The whole assembled Shark® Vertex™ UltraLight™ DuoClean® PowerFins Corded Stick Vacuum weighs approximately 12 pounds. My existing floor vacuum weighs approximately 22 pounds without vacuum hose and accessories. So, in keeping with my motto, 'working smarter' not harder, this Shark® Vertex™ UltraLight™ DuoClean® stick vacuum is as effective in floor cleaning as my existing unit. But, this Shark is so much easier to use then my heavier, less navigable, unit and provides more effective cleaning as a multi-functional vacuum cleaner. At my age arthritis is a fact-of-life. This Shark glides over my floors with its active rollers moving forward and gripping deep into my pile carpet. Additionally, the floor nozzle effortlessly swivels 45 degrees to the left or right with a flick of my wrist (see pics). Whoopee! To clean anything overhead is also a breeze for my arthritic hands. I can connect the Handheld Vacuum, which weighs less then 3 pounds, to the wand for most of my overhead cleaning tasks without ever having to use a step stool or dangerous ladder. I have dusted all my A/C ceiling grilles from just standing on my floor (see pics). Love it! * MAINTENANCE – EZ empty Dust Cup, which holds approximately 10 ounces of debris. There is a cleanable and re-usable Pre-Motor Filter, which should be washed twice a month with just plain tap water and air dried. The Post-Motor Filter is also washable, and should be washed every nine months according to the Instruction Booklet. The Soft Roller in the floor nozzle can also be hand washed as needed with just plain tap water. * DESIRABLE FEATURES: - Thirty foot electrical cord, plugs in anywhere convenient to my vacuuming. - Eight bright LED lights on floor nozzle to illuminate cleaning path. Great in dimly lit rooms. - On Board attachment hook, which fits on the wand and holds up to two attachments. - Floor nozzle/sweeper is approximately 2 ¾ inches high and goes under all my furniture. - Cord wrap hooks on the wand for wrapping the electrical cord up for storage. - EZ stand-up storage takes little room in my closet. Handheld Vacuum hooks on to wand. - Three attachments, Crevice Tool, Dusting Brush, and Self-Cleaning Pet Power Brush. I highly recommend this Shark® Vertex™ UltraLight™ DuoClean® PowerFins Corded Stick Vacuum with Self-Cleaning Brushroll. It is amazing how powerful it is and its multi-functional uses. Love It. It makes a great gift for newly weds, Christmas, Birthdays, House Warming, or, for a special family member or friend.

I don’t typically get excited about house hold cleaning products but I was stoked to try this soon as I took it out of the box. It isn’t exactly a featherweight vacuum but it is definitely light enough to use to clean areas above your head. (Ceiling fans, shelves, wall crevices, etc etc) The vacuum was super easy to set up without diving into the manual. It comes with 5 attachments. The floor/carpet head, a smaller head for upholstery and furniture, a crevice tool, a dusting tool and an attachment that will hold a second piece on the vacuum stick. We thought our place looked clean before I opened up this vacuum and took it for a spin. I was excited to try this on our bedroom carpet and bed lol. On the first pass of our bedroom carpet floor, you can see in the photos attached just how much dust and hair this thing picked up! My girl and I both said Whoa! Let’s clean up the rest of the floors lol. So we spend the rest of the evening taking turns cleaning with it. I’m 6 ft tall and I was able to reach out ceiling fan with the dusting brush attachment. The vacuum and cable are light enough that my arm didn’t really get to tired while holding it above my head for extended periods. The vacuum is a breeze to use and takes very little effort when pushing and pulling it across carpets and floors. The large roller head swivels easy also for maneuvering around furniture and corners. It has a built in head lamp for spotting dust and debris in dim areas. The best part about the vacuum head? Not much hair got stuck in the rollers or brushes. It really does clean itself. Amazed! I love it. I just pulled the couple of hairs that did get left behind and trashed it. No need to struggle with taking it apart or brushes to pull hair out of the roller heads. There is three different filters in the machine that are easily removed and need to be rinsed about once a month. I can’t state how long they’ll last because I’ve only had it for a week but so far the filters are good and holding steady. I empty the can and rinse it out as soon as I’m done cleaning. It’s also a simple chore and takes very little effort. Would I recommend this vacuum? Most definitely! Especially if you suffer from dust and hair / pet allergies.

The Shark Vertex, at first sight, you wouldn't be sure how it will perform. With its hard plastic grip and frame, this vacuum exceed my expectations by far. With the suction of a shop vac in a smaller profile, it should generate interest. While this is a corded vacuum and could be a let down, I've found that its performance makes up for it and I don't have to worry about the battery losing charge over time. Upon using it on my large area rug and comparing it to past vacuums I've owned, I found this performs much better. The first thing I did when I assembled this vacuum was to try it on my 10' x 8' rug. I was taken aback by the powerful suction and the way that the vacuum pushes/drives itself. As soon as you turn on the vacuum, the wheels automatically start rolling. One thing Shark promoted about this vaccum was its' ability to vacuum hair well. I was astounded by the amount of hair it captured, period. I would not have known there was that much hair on my carpet! What won me over, however, is the way that the hair the vacuum picks up is filtered separately from the dust and dirt. This blew my mind because no other vacuum I have owned or used has been able to do that. Every other floor vacuum I've used is terrible at picking up hair, leaving it stuck at the brush rolls. The vacuum, being able to disassemble and assemble it in two main configurations (floor vac and hand vac), I found it very convenient to use as a light hand-held vac. It is available to detach at two different places for longer or shorter reach. I noticed that the hand-held tip didn't even have to touch the surface for it to pick up the trash - that's just how powerful the suction is. The Shark Vertex also came with 3 different attachments to use for handheld cleaning as well. Cleaning the filter and dirt storage areas is simple and easy too. Simply remove the filter container, rinse the filter, and let it air dry. Shark recommends doing this once a month while patting out the dust from the trash deposit after each use. My biggest gripe was that the Shark Vertex would not stand on its own without support. If I moved away from it, I would have to try and do a balancing act before it would eventually fall backwards. I found that the way for it to stay upright was to remove the vacuum motor (the part you hold with your hand, very easily removeable with a click of a button) and hook it to the bottom of the vacuum. While this is the best thing to do for storage purposes, I would prefer not to do it ever time I stop the vacuum. This is my only complaint and in my opinion does not deserve the removal of a star from the rating. In the end I highly recommend this vacuum to anyone that has pets or simply wants to see a better job done after vacuuming your house or even your car. Having the ability to disassemble is convenient for storage and when using as a hand vac. It checks all of my boxes and I know it won't disappoint at its price.

I really like everything about this vacuum, except the small dust cup. It has powerful suction with the wall outlet-powered motor and it's easy to use and maneuver. It's also easy to empty the dust cup, which is a great thing because you'll be doing it a lot if you have pets. I have multiple cats and before I got halfway up my carpeted stairs, I had to empty it. If they somehow could have made the dust cup larger this would be the ultimate vacuum. I was a little worried about standing and storing the stick vacuum, but their solution turned out to be pretty genius. (See pictures) You can wrap the cord around the hooks, then simply disconnect the main part of the vacuum and slide it into the retaining clip on the front. It's perfectly stable on its own in that configuration. I've found it's easy to do that even while I'm vacuuming and need to empty the dust cup. No need to lean it against the wall and have it fall, or lay it down flat somewhere. You can just slip it into the holder on the front. Like other Shark vacuums I've had, this one performs really well. The special roller in front of the brush works super well to grab debris that's trying to hide against the walls. The new anti-pet-hair brush seems to work as advertised, too. So, other than the dust cup size I love this stick vacuum. It still deserves a solid 4 stars.

The Shark Ultralight Corded Stick Vacuum is the best vacuum I have used to date! With the various accessories and multiple functions, this Shark vacuum will only make your cleaning seamless and trouble-free. ===================================== UNBOXING/ACCESSORIES: Upon opening the box, I was greeted with many different accessories and parts. The quick start guide on the flap made the assembly straightforward. I was surprised at how light and small the vacuum was once assembling the product. The hand vacuum hangs from the base of the wand and the onboard storage clip can be used to hang the extra accessories which help with storage. This unit came with multiple accessories that will assist you with all your cleaning needs. A dusting brush, a self-cleaning pet power brush, a crevice tool, and an onboard storage clip. You can see these accessories in the attached pictures. ===================================== FLOOR NOZZLE: I first tested out the floor nozzle upon assembling the whole vacuum. The beautiful LED user interface on the handle allows you to switch modes seamlessly. The two modes available are bare floor and carpet. This Shark Vacuum has some serious suction power. As I was vacuuming my carpet and floor, I picked up debris and particles I did not even see! Instead of using bristles like on most vacuums, this vacuum uses fins for continuous cleaning and no hair wraps! An excellent engineering choice by the Shark team. The bright headlights on the floor nozzle is a great design choice as well as it helps you see the ground better in dark areas. I found the vacuum extremely easy to maneuver due to the lightweight and flexible floor nozzle. The only problem I had is once you assemble the full vacuum, the vacuum will fall by itself as it is top-heavy due to the attached hand vac. Not too much of a hassle but one of these days I will forget that the vacuum is top-heavy and down it will go. This vacuum also has a stair cleaning mode where you attach the handheld vacuum to the floor nozzle. ===================================== HAND VACUUM: I then decided to test out the hand vac. I detached the hand vac from the floor nozzle and tested out the multiple attachments. I found the hand vac to be lightweight and easy to use. Simply attach the suitable attachment and press the on button. The wand attachment made it easier to reach hard to reach areas like a ceiling fan or a high cupboard. The self-cleaning pet brush did a great job at the arduous task of picking up long pieces of hair and debris. I have an old vacuum with a pet brush that was nowhere close to the suction of this hand vac. This brush is truly a great accessory to this vacuum. Finally, I tested out the dust brush. All I can say is that this brush did its job at dusting. It picked up debris and particles like a champ! ===================================== SUMMARY: I have not bought a new vacuum in forever and this one completely outperforms my old one in all the categories. If your vacuum is need of an upgrade, I would wholeheartedly recommend this vacuum. With the powerful suction, various accessories, and multiple ways to use this vacuum, this is something one should get behind.

Shark Ultralight DuoClean PowerFins Corded Stick Vac Let me start by saying that this was my first Shark. I have always gravitated to a single other vacuum manufacturer. Over the last couple years, I have grown less fond of that brand due to quality issues we have noticed. I have also followed Shark over the years, and they are not immune to those negative reviews and issues. Assembly was a breeze. There is even a diagram on the opening of the box that shows how to put the pieces together. This was very helpful even though it is pretty intuitive and easy. First test was the full vacuum with the motored head. While the width is a bit smaller than some, this thing is almost like a self-propelled mower! I started out on one of our carpeted floors and whoa! not only was the suction great but the maneuverability was amazing. I immediately called my wife (who is not a fan of vacuuming) and said, “You got to try this, it’s amazingly maneuverable and even gets low to get under things like the bed and tables”. So next, I took off the long wand and did the handheld with the self-powered pet brush on our stairs. I don’t know about you and your pets but our Lab Layla loves to run up and down the stairs and leaves her fur essence on every stair..lol. The Shark and this pet brush with its unique “flaps” did not get hung up with hair at all. That is another great feature. The collection bin is amazing. It has good capacity for this size device, but it also has a unique hair capturing thing in the collection bin that attracts and binds hair and makes it very easy when emptying to just pull the hair off while emptying. My wife said, “this is exactly what we have been looking for our stairs.” Now I have her! she loves this on two major areas so there is hope for sharing all the vacuum duty. Next we tried the handle, with the wand and the brush and the the thin suction tube at the end. We did blinds, we did between cushions on the couch we did behind the couch and in the tight corners of the walls behind the couch. This thing really has truly usable functionality. Let me say that again “Usable Functionality”. Many vacuums have functionality, but few of them are “easily usable”. Me and my beautiful wife will continue to use this, we love it so far. For now, we are all in, 5 star and will highly recommend to others. OH, one last thing, the cord on this thing is amazing! Super long and let me tell you, many try to go with those cordless. I truly understand but we also know that batteries loose capacity over time so that can become an issue. I prefer a cord but a long one. This Shark does not disappoint!

Hair gets stuck and also vacuum gets clogged

We purchased this vacuum cleaner just a few months ago and I was expecting a much better vacuum cleaner. Hair gets stuck on the bottom rollers and a lot of dust gets clogged in the area too .(see pic 2 and 3) The vacuum does not work properly and gets really loud when this happens. I have to constantly be unclogging the vacuum and cutting all the hair from the rollers. It’s only dust that gets stuck because I don’t vacuum large pieces of things. Not happy and it’s too late to return since it’s been a few months. I do not recommend this vacuum cleaner.

The Shark Ultralight DuoClean PowerFins Corded Stick Vac is a lightweight but powerful vacuum! Out of the box, you get the vacuum itself along with a brush cleaner head, crevice tool head, self-healing brush head and storage tool clip. The tool clip allows you to attach up to two heads directly onto the vacuum. Because this is a corded model, its noticeably more powerful than most handheld wireless devices with the exception being a brand that rhymes with Tyson. The main reason why this model vacuums so well is because of the dual brush heads. There is the power brush head which has a lining to help clear the head during use and an additional traditional brush head with bristles and blades to help clean up afterwards. These two brush heads work in tandem to provide a very efficient vacuuming experience that leads to more content being picked up. I was very surprised how much hair and dust was picked up on first use! I was even more impressed to see that no hair was stuck on either the power brush head or traditional brush head. With a single pass, most visible debris on hardwood flooring is clearly picked up. If vacuuming larger contents such as cereal crumbs (fruit loop sized), two passes do the trick. This vacuum, though very light, is a real sucker! Emptying out the bin is also very easy. The mechanism used to take out the bin is pretty simple and straightforward. Because this vacuum picks up quite a lot of content, having a bin that is easily emptied is very much appreciated. The additional attachments, such as the brush cleaner head and crevice tool are easy to attach as well and very useful for getting into tight spots (e.g., sofa crevices) or up high (e.g., ceiling for spider webs). The self healing brush head is also quite awesome for vacuuming pet hair from sofas! The only thing i could think about this vacuum improving on is it’s ability to stand independently. With the cord wrapped, there is more weight on the backside of the vacuum which does not allow it to stand on its own and would require users to lean it against a wall (or lay on the ground if not near a wall). Though this is a trait shared with many vacuums in this class, i wouldn’t necessarily think too much about it or have it being a deal breaker feature. I would highly recommend this for anyone that is looking for a versatile compact and lightweight vacuum!

Has everything you need and want in a small vacuum. Its lightweight. Great suction for both hardfloors and carpet. Easy to remove and breakdown for smaller uses. I only wish it were cordless!

I've owned a few Shark corded stick vacuums, and this is my favorite. Pros: 1. Powerful suction 2. Easy to maneuver 3. Easy to convert into a handheld 4. Easy to empty the dustbin, and this dustbin is designed much better than the other Shark corded stick vacuums 5. I can change the suction when vacuuming hardwood versus carpet Cons 1. The attachments keep falling off the attachment holder 2. The cord gets tangled easily
