I’m absolutely overwhelmed with the wave of technology that’s beaming itself from the future, through my new tv, and directly to my brain. Beauty in function and form. Like a unicorn.

Living in the country, we needed a TV with backup in case our dish network went down. We went with the sharp with Roku. From the minute we turned it on, we have been happy with our choice. Great TV

I got the TV at a good price. Ordered it online for delivery. Got an email saying the tv is delayed and will be a day late. Not the end of the world but still annoying. When I got the TV, everything was in the box and the TV looked great. After plugging it in, the TV will not turn on. It gets a blue LED light indicates that it has power, and tried 3 different outlets. Will not turn on with the remote or the power button on the TV. I have the protection plan and will just exchange it for new one. I am a big fan of Best Buy and will continue to shop their, the TV is just a big inconvenience. This one instance should not reflect the company as a whole.

I waffled between this Sharp and the 48" Vizio. I already had a HD 55" Vizio (non UHD). I thought that tv was awesome...boy was I wrong! So this is my first 4K and all I can say is WOW I have been missing a lot. The colors are so vibrant and the picture is extremely crisp even when in just HD. I do have cable on the main TV, however this is just OTA which comes in great. So far I've used HBO GO an YouTube, which gave me UHD. The speakers are the only downside for me as they are rear facing, duh! I attached my small JBL flip to it and it sounds much better, will be investing in a sound bar soon. Other than that I was leaning towards the Vizio because it was bluetooth capable, however I fortunately found out that doesn't mean you can connect wireless speakers. And oh yeah did I mention how seamless the Roku was to set up, you can download anything you can think of, so far besides HBO I also have Crackle and YouTube, Netflix premium which has UHD options will be next. I may never leave my room LOL. One last thing you'll need to do after getting this set up is to go into settings for both the TV and Roku to take it out of store mode. I am so impressed with this dang thing, I could care less the refresh rate is only 60Hz, not that I'd know the difference anyway. Gotta go, Orange Is The New Black binge is about to start. Enjoy!

    Great 4k TV

Picked this up yesterday and set up was very simple. Three HDMIports is a nice bonus as many others have two. Set up my new XBOX ONE X and was blown away at the IQ and the overall colors and pop of the image. Have a Samsung 40 inch 6290 series I got this past year and the Sharp has much deeper colors as well as better HDR image. No washed out picture using any HDR10 game like Gears of war or Forza horizon. the colors and contrast are beautiful. This tells me that its either due to the set having a 10 bit color gradient, which it detected on my Xbox setup screen, or the nit rating for overall brightness is pretty high as well as the contrast. Either way, having a tv that pulls off solid HDR effect that isnt washed out is a true indication it is a capable HDR10 tv. I have tried many before this looking for one that did HDR well in my games and many of them all had that washed out overly bright image. i tried Samsung, Toshiba and even a Sony. All were HDR capable sets but thatbis misleading today as many tvs are. The difference being if they have a true 10 bit color gradient to pull off the HDR effect without washing out the image as well as the higher brightness or NITS rating. This set beats all of them to mu surprise. It even has three different HDR settings you can select while in game from the tv menu which no other set i had before did. Some of the people on here complaining they cant get their gamesystem to do HDR make sure you go under the tvs input settings for each HDMI port and make sure you manually set them to HDMI 2.0 as they are either set to 1.4 or auto by default. 1.4 is for older specs that did t support HDR through HDMI. HDMI 2.0 was created with HDR specs in mind to support it. Once that is done your game system should work flawlessly like my Xbox does. The upper right hand corner of the screen will display the HDR logo as the hdr enabled game or app or movie begins to let you know the mode has kicked in. That is when you can go under picture settings and it is a HDR settings display onscreen that the tv allows you to pick from. They are DARK, NORMAL, BRIGHT. the dark is for cinema, normal for regular and bright for slightly more saturated colors. So overall this tv has exceeded my expectations and for the price I paid has a better picture quality than the others i tried as well as a far superior HDR effect. Hope this helps and if you gave any questions ask away as I am a tech guru and love this stuff.

This Sharp flat screen has the best picture i have seen on any of the 4K's out there. very vivid color and contrast. Images are outstanding and seam to jump out at you. Incredibly clear picture that makes you go WOW! The bezzel around the edge is very slim and it seams the screen has no boarders while watching it where the other screens ive seen seam to have a thick bezzel around the edge and to me that seams to takes away from the screen width. The setup was so easy, take it out of the box, plug it in, kick back and enjoy!!! I like the variety of ports it has to connect devices. Hanging it on the wall was a piece of cake because it is very light. Highly recommend this 4K flat screen.

Best thing I ever did for myself!

2018 02 09 - The only thing bad I ever read was the speakers were not loud enough. Well I placed this in the bedroom and 9 out of 100 was just fine. Could not bring myself to go above 25 for a test. Perhaps SHARP was listening! That must be it! Never looked at the information. Programed the Wireless Modem AMAZON - Netflix - and the Digital antenna with the remote control out of the box. Not too happy with the location of the VOLUME buttons. They are easy to press by accident. During SetUp it did not give me a CHOICE for ANTENNA but it showed up later. I could only hope that it would. All in all it's the - Best thing I ever did for myself!

I was skeptical about a Sharp product, and had my reservations about a Roku TV, hearing it was inconvenient to work around. After four months of use, I can say I am happy on both counts. Normal television functions are pretty good: color temperature is fine, blacks are deep enough with factory settings (though you will see "smearing" on black screens), I haven't noticed any halo effects, and there is no noticeable blurring after one day of football viewing. 4K viewing is limited, unless you want to pay for a 4K channel, so I have even more limited frame of reference. What I have seen is dazzling, though you may not always want to see some things or people in 4K detail. Sound is reasonably good, and plenty loud--though if you want THX-quality, you will need to pop for a sound bar. IF you want to use the sound bar with a Roku Store channel, you may need to kill your satellite/cable signal first, or risk hearing two audio programs. The Roku part of the equation was a pleasant surprise. Roku provides a variety of free movie channels (including Roku's own wonderful FREE channel), with most supported by commercials, but offer uncut films, ranging from classics, to 1960s-80s drive-in fare, to mainstream motion pictures. The big networks, except pay-to-play CBS, provide app-like channels which are available at no charge, provided you have cable or satellite. Local channels are available to some extent, providing anything from a video clip service and local weather, to full LIVE programming on the ABC channel. Downsides: the remote doesn't do much, so you will likely use the Sharp remote just to turn on the TV, and switch over to Roku channels, or video sources, and this is not a voice-activated remote. Yes, you will need to select a video source EVERY time you turn on the TV, which involves three moves on the Sharp remote--the power button, toggling to your desired video source, and hitting the select button. No, it is not ideal, but it is not a deal breaker. BTW: Measure the width of your TV stand, as the feet on this model are spaced fairly wide. Okay, I'll say it, "For the price..." I am impressed. For the price, you could do a lot worse.

I purchased this model when it was on sale for my father. He is not the most technical guy, but eventually learned how to use the built in RoKu, which is the best part of this TV. This year, he also "cut the cord" and the RoKu remote's built in buttons allow him to get to the live streaming app easily. The one drawback is that it only comes with the RoKu remote, which can be difficult for an older person to get used to.

    Great Bang for the Buck

Good picture, good sound, what more could you want. Well, a full-service remote for one thing. This is a RokuTV, which I didn't want when I was shopping, because I was told you have to tell the TV the source, every time you turn on the device. Well, if you go into settings, you can change that. Now, HUGE ROKU FAN! First, the Roku Channel (a free service) has as much FREE programming (movies, sitcoms, etc.) as you could realistically watch. Then, there are the apps, which let you customize your TV to your viewing tastes. If you want to pay for some, fine. If you don't, there are hundreds of ad-supported apps with incredible programming, if you don't mind sitting through commercial breaks--which are less than half as long as the average cable network. YOU WANT ROKU! Now to the TV-- the speakers are great. You won't need a soundbar, unless you want super hi-fi sound. I can sit on the far end of a 25-foot room, and hear most channels just fine at 40% of max volume. The picture, while not perfect, is very good. There is some blurring in quick camera moves, and the 4K is impressively good, as it should be. The back-lighting is clear and even with no halo effect visible. Like all TVs today, you have to be prepared for wide spacing of the feet, so you have to have a WIDE stand, or mount this on the wall. The remote is a standard Roku remote (check out the remotes which come with any Roku device to see what I mean), with no direct channel access, so if you have cable or satellite, you will have to live with two remotes. This is also the BASIC Roku remote, with no voice-assist, nor headphone jack for private listening. This is not a high-end TV, but it delivers more than enough bang for the buck to make most people with limited space happy.
