This picture is amazing, the price was great, and so far we have spent many hours streaming Netflix directly in 4K to the tv via built in app! There is a Netflix button on the remote itself!

======= Summary ======= The Sharp Aquos 60" 4K TV is a very compelling Smart TV and an overall great buy. It offers great value with its good image quality, ease of use, and its many Smart TV functions. The out-of-the box image quality, however, was initially so-so. After calibration and testing, the image quality improved greatly and viewing multimedia content became very enjoyable and satisfactory. ======= Design ======= The Aquos comes smartly packaged inside a big box that is very easy to open and unbox. There are four black plastic tabs - two on each side of the box - that secure the TV inside the box. After pinching in and popping off the four tabs from the box, one can easily slide the box up to expose the TV inside. Brilliant. Installing the two TV stand legs is quick & easy with the included screws. The power plug is located on the back of the TV in the lower-left section. The rest of the TV's connections are located on the back lower-right section. I chose to use the TV by standing it up on its two legs but there is also an opton for the TV to be wall-mounted (extra hardware required). The TV remote is traditional-looking and traditionally laid out (i.e., nothing special). With that said, though, it is easy to use and the buttons are well-spaced out and have good feel when pressing down on them. The TV reacts quickly to button presses and commands and I didn't find it frustrating at all. Also appreciated are the quick-shortcut buttons to popular online video services such as Netflix, Amazon, Vudu, and YouTube on the bottom of the remote. ======= Connectivity Options ======= On the back of the TV, you'll find the following connectivity options: 1x ANT/Cable 1x Digital Audio Out 1x Service port (manuf service port) 1x USB 2.0 (for your personal movie files) 3x HDMI (HDMI 1 and 2 offer 4K@60Hz while HDMI 3 offers 4K@30Hz. Only HDMI 2 offers ARC support, good for hooking up to sound bar systems). 1x 3.5mm audio jack 1x Ethernet port Analog Audio ports Composite Video ports I appreciate having the HDMI ARC input for easy connection to my soundbar system (HDMI 2 port). Using the ARC port, I can control the power and sound levels of my soundbar system using only the TV's remote control, which is convenient. The WiFi functionality of the TV worked very well. Using the remote and the onscreen keyboard, I was able to locate my home network and enter the password quickly and easily. Network setup was fast and smooth with no hiccups of any kind - the way it should be. My home network has speeds of 50Mbps down/10Mbps up. All online apps and video services loaded up quickly with no lag. For those with spotty or weak Wifi, the TV offers an Ethernet port for a more reliable Internet connection and steady speed. Overall, I'm very satisfied and happy with all the connection types offered. ======= Picture & Audio Quality ======= Out of the box, the picture quality was underwhelming and frankly, disappointing. Initially, the TV was pretty dim, the colors were too muted and pale, fine details in scenes was kind of blurry, the blacks weren't very black but grayish, and the color tone of people's skins was way off. Also, natural scenery such as green trees and brown dirt looked washed out and not true to life. Pretty much the only thing the TV was initially good at was displaying fast action scenes very well with its "Motion Rate 120" motion technology. Very fortunately, playing around with the picture quality and calibration settings inside the TV Settings resulted in dramatic quality improvements in color spectrum, color fidelity and pop, black levels, and color tones. Here are the settings I used: *Settings -> Picture -Backlight = Middle -Picture Mode = Vivid -Contrast = 70 -Brightness = 50 -Color = 48 -Tint: G1 -Sharpness = 10 -Aspect Ratio = Wide -HDMI 2.0 Format = Enhanced format -Advanced Picture Options --Overscan = On --Color Temperature: Mid-Low --Digital Noise Reduction = Medium --Active Contrast: High -Expert Settings = (Default) *Settings -> Sound -Sound Mode = Theater (I use Music mode for music videos) -TotalSonics = On -TotalSurround = On -TotalVolume = Off (default) -Advanced Audio Settings = Default After setting up the TV as above, my multimedia experience improved tremendously. Now, movies and TV shows look very nice with great color fidelity, spectrum, vibrancy, pop, and detail. The black level was also improved dramatically and the blacks look inky and deep black now. I'm pretty certain that by doing more research into TV calibration and using the additional settings found in "Expert Settings" (Color Tuner, White Balance), the image quality can be further improved. Although it is a shame that Sharp didn't properly calibrate the TV before selling these (and perhaps leading to premature TV returns due to disappointed customers), it is a relief that users are given the option to calibrate the TV themselves that lead to perceptible and definite improvements in visual quality. As for the audio, it is pretty decent. Built-in TV speakers will never be very good and one should always get an external sound system in my opinion(e.g., soundbar system with external subwoofer). With that said, the sound quality is adequate and decent. Its 2x 15W speakers produce good volume but lacks bass, as expected. Again, it is recommended to pair up this immersive 60" 4K TV with a decent soundbar and subwoofer system to maximize your multimedia experience. When watching music videos, it is highly recommended to change the audio profile to "Music" for a perceptible and sudden improvement in music quality. ======= So, is it any good? ======= Yes. The Sharp Aquos 60" 4K Smart TV, especially at its current price point, is a tremendous value and a great buy. At its MSRP of $799.99, I wouldn't recommend it because it requires too much calibration and playing around with settings to extract good image quality. Otherwise, this Sharp Aquos TV offers lots of bang for your buck such as 4K resolution in a 60" screen form-factor that is immersive and expansive, decent audio output, Smart TV functionality, an easy-to-use remote, and great image quality. Pair it up with a decent quality soundbar system with a subwoofer and you'll have a very nice multimedia setup in your home.

Even for a budget TV, this Sharp (a rebranded Hisense) is hard to recommend as there are other competitively priced brands like Vizio and TCL offering better features. This panel has average colors, good gradients, and decent contrast, but has bad black uniformity and a large amount of light bleeding. The greys fair better but also suffer from unevenness giving a “dirty screen” effect. HDR is just bad, resulting in muted colors. Pictures look worse with HDR on than it is off. For gaming, it does have acceptable low input lag and motion blur is also fair. The build quality is as expected from a TV of this price, cheap but not too terrible. Good: Gradient Contrast Low input lag OS is responsive Bad: Edge bleeding (see picture) Grey uniformity Bad black level Terrible HDR - low color gamut (see picture) Build quality - panel shifts like bad picture frame Limited apps Build quality: This isn’t great but not so terrible that I would fault it. It’s mostly plastic and the stand seems cheap and a bit wobbly. The worst part is that the panel is not secure within the bezel. It’s like a picture frame that’s too big for the glass. There’s a good amount of give that I can push the panel in about a quarter inch. It’s fine since you would likely not touch the tv once it’s set up, but still worth a mention. Picture Quality I recommend following the settings from Rtings.com. They only have one Sharp tv review but the settings are almost the same. Color and contrast: While not as vivid or crisp as high end TVs, the colors are decent. It looks a little faded, but adjusting the settings can help a good bit. Color gradients are good with very little banning. Contrast is also good. It’s not as distinct as pure white and pure black, but perfectly fine for typical TV and movies. Black levels and grey uniformity (see pic): This is where this TV starts to suffer. The blacks are really uneven, made worse by the large amount of light bleeding from the edges. The bleeding extends to almost 2 inches from the bezel. It isn’t even either, with my panel having bigger spots on the top left. Dark scenes look bad and spotty. Grey looks better and less spotty, but still not good enough to not have the dirty screen effect. Some may not notice it as much, but on lighter scenes, it’s very noticeable. HDR (see pic): While I didn’t expect HDR from this price range, nor does it claim to have HDR, it does and it’s terrible. It automatically detects HDR content and goes into HDR mode, but the result is always worse with it on than off. This panel doesn’t have wide color gamut, resulting in very muted colors especially with HDR games. Lighting effects seem like they have been removed and any vivid details look like they’ve been put through a filter. It’s best to turn off HDR entirely and forget this TV even has it. Functionality OS and Apps: Overall this aspect is good. The OS is quick and responsive. Some of the settings are buried needlessly, but the ability to fine tune the picture to your liking is there. The app support is somewhat limited. The main ones (Netflix, Amazon, Youtube) are there, but no Hulu. The rest are either foreign or just junk. You don’t have an app store like you would with the like of Android TV. Gaming and PC monitor: Gaming is fine. Low input lag and motion blur are good enough for console gaming. Using it as a PC monitor less than ideal. The mentioned dirty screen effect makes it distracting to use. I also had issues with the aspect ratio. For some reason, changing some settings will cause the ration to shift even though it was working prior. This may require some adjusting with your GPU. I wouldn’t use this for any twitch based PC games. The refresh rate and motion blur isn’t good enough for that. Sound: The sound is alright. It’s good enough for typical TV viewing, but you’ll need a sound system to give it more punch. Most modern TV doesn’t have great speakers so I wasn’t expecting anything from this set. Value I can’t fully recommend this TV unless it was a huge discount. Some are satisfied with the picture quality, but there are better choices out there for similar price that offers better picture, local dimming array, and good HDR.

Ideally, we’d like the reviews to focus on Picture Quality – Black Levels, Color, and Clear Action/Motion I unboxed the unit. The clip system worked really well. The FedEx driver was kind enough to help me carry it through the front door. There I slid it on the carpet to the den and opened it up. I wanted to install it on my existing stand, but my old 46” uses the longer bolts and I couldn’t find the kit with the short ones. It would have been great is Sharp included 8 bolts (4 long and 4 short), washers and spacers. Speaking of spacers, what’s up with the lip on the bottom of the back that causes the unit to need spacers? Anyway, since I didn’t have the right bolts I installed the legs. It wasn’t that bad by myself. I cut the bottom on each side, so it would come out without much lifting. I was able to lie it flat and prop up the entire bottom on my knees. Afterwards, I was able to just tilt it up and the legs handled it like a champ. I clear my tv stand top shelf and grabbing the tv on both side, I was able to put it in place. I think I’ll install the hanging brackets just for security, but the legs are staying on now. So, after hooking up the HDMI cable from my Yamaha receiver and attaching a long optical cable I bought years ago online, I was ready to fire it up. The setup screen came up first and you just pick English or whatever language you use and your time zone. Then it asks if you are home or store setup, pick home and it starts trying to connect to the internet. I have wired so it found it no problem. I use Wi-Fi for backup should I need to. First thing I fired up the Olympics and the colors were amazing. The reds and blues on the downhill fences were brilliant. The blacks scores at the bottom were a bit light or grey and I thought I was going to be disappointed. I was wrong. I knew I still needed to put in some time with it to give an honest opinion. I hooked up the Roku Premiere + and opened the 4k app. They had a 10-minute trailer of Spiderman Homecoming and wow was it awesome. The blacks were spot on and the colors again on Spidey’s suit were brilliant. I didn’t notice any artifacting and I was streaming it from Fandango through the Roku unit. Needless to say, I was impressed. I just got the unit running and still have some trash and tools to put away, but before I post this comment I want to take a couple of pics and watch a Blu-ray to see how it looks. …a couple of hours later. Man, I wish Sharp would have included .50 worth of hardware to mount the tv stand bracket to the back. It would have save a lot of cursing to have the bolts I needed rather than trying to find the right size and length. I got one and now I kind of know what to buy tomorrow. I’ll have to get a couple of spacers, quite a few washers just in case I need to shorten the bolt and a 1/2” one for the other side top. That said, the tv looks great. Color and black are really good, at least to this viewer who’s been watching an Epson projection 1080p for a while. My old tv was a Philips 46” smart tv that wasn’t so smart. Being it’s the first day with the tv, I’m pretty happy with it. The remote is laid out nicely and if I had one complaint, it’s that I think you need the remote to operate the tv. I haven’t found any buttons to control the unit.

This TV is very impressive, especially considering it's price point. I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better value for this size with 4k. The TV is very easy to use, and has most of the features you'd expect from a modern smart TV. The only thing I do wish the TV had would be HDR. Though, at this price, it's hard to complain at the lack of HDR. The picture is nice, but there are times, namely when a person is in the shadows, their skin tones can seem a bit off. The built in apps work well, and it's convenient to have dedicated buttons for Netflix, Amazon, Vudu and YouTube. Pros: Great value, nice picture, very easy to use, built in apps Cons: No HDR, color seems off at times

Bought my new 60 inch sharp tv on Black Friday in Novi, Mi. There was a big selection of tvs but this tv had the best price for size and abilities I wanted. Since I got it on Black Friday yes it was cheaper, but id still recommend. Great tv, great picture and standard sound all excellent, lightweight. Only complaints my sound bar for some reason doesn't seem to connect to it, but my sound bar is a lil dated and according to the manual I need to pick up a certain splice cable to connect to the sound bar then to the tv to make it compatible. Other complaint won't affect everyone. I have Comcast, for some reason programming the remote to the tv to be able to power on and off and volume and all that has been a real struggle with getting a code to work. Other than that great tv, I recommend 2 people to set up tv, putting the legs on the bottom isn't the easiest by yourself but I did it an extra hand would've just made it simpler thats all. I like the tv no problems!

Amazing for 4K, not so much with upscaling 1080

This is a very large and beautiful TV, no doubt. The unboxing instructions are amazing and saves you much trouble when unpacking. Great job putting that out there on the product page. As for the TV itself, it is an amazing experience for 4K. I was streaming stuff and it looked so good. I was just in awe. The blacks are deep and stunning, while the colors are sharp and vivid. Playing with the settings is necessary to get the picture quality/style you want to see. And I found some great combinations of settings to provide a great picture! Okay, so with FIOS and 1080P, I was disappointed. The picture seemed to look worse than my 1080P TV. Again, the colors were vibrant and the deep blacks were very amazing. It rivals our 2 year old OLED TV, which cost a fortune just 2 years ago. I really like the look of the picture. You will too. Since 4K is still not quite 100% there, FIOS does not have FIOS boxes, some have said they never will. It is so sad because this TV is thirsty for 4K to really shine. With just 1080P, the upscaling isn't what I expected from Sharp. So, the other way to do this is to get an AIRTV 4K box to deliver a great 4K experience, or simply stream Netflix or Youtube with their 4K content. Or buy a 4K Blu-ray player. The TV has really good sound, an amazing 4K screen image, and I was even more impresse that they included so many features and smart functionality on a TV at this price point. This TV, just a couple of years ago, was out of reach for many. Today, this is going to places that were traditionally shut out. Sad, but true. You should try this TV and if you don't like it, Best Buy has an amazing return policy. Having tried 4K off and on since it came out, I had yet to find a TV that I liked its 4K or even the 1080P image quality. This 4K image quality is beyond stunning. Go ahead, give it a try. You'll probably realize, as I have, that Sharp continues to bring quality products with decent performance, for consumers that might be on a tight budget but would like to experience 4K.

Excellent 4K Entertainment TV For Picture & Sound

Replacing my old 40” HD TV with this Sharp 60” - 4K UHD – LED - Smart TV was an eye-popping transition. Suddenly, the people on my TV screen are now life-sized in ultra high definition and in brilliant, dynamic colors. The objects moving around on the screen are fluid, clear, and like-like. The full spectrum, digital surround sound resonating from the two built-in speakers is simply amazing. The speakers are positioned to the left and right bottom at the back of the unit and are 15 watts each. Since most flat screen TV's are notorious for inadequate speaker sound quality this Sharp 60” model with a total of 30 watts was a pleasant surprise. For everyday TV listening enjoyment I don't use my auxiliary soundbar system because the 'dbx-tv and Dolby Digital' are so good. But I prefer my soundbar system with subwoofer, which adds more bass, depth, and nuance sounds to the total presentation, when I use DVDs and stream videos over the Internet on this Sharp TV. Just these two elements alone, outstanding, life-like picture quality, and, rich, full energizing sound turned my living room into a home theater. WoW! This Sharp 60” TV was shipped directly to my home. Upon opening the shipping container it was obvious that the manufacturer took all the steps necessary to insure this unit would arrive undamaged. Be aware that the packaged TV weighs approximately 60 pounds and is approximately 60” wide. There are helpful instructions and illustrations printed on the top of the box for unpackaging and set-up. Two people are recommended for any handling and the installation of this TV. Best Buy also has a short and an informative video on their product homepage. It is easy to set-up and uncomplicated. Out of the box I had the legs installed, HDMI, optical, and associated cables connected and TV ready to power up in approximately 20 minutes. Remember, it takes two people to handle this ultra-thin 60” TV to avoid potential damage to the screen. I am 75 and my Supervisor (wife) is 72, we had no unboxing, and, or, set-up issues, but we did take our time. After placing my Sharp 60” Smart TV in the middle of my living room back wall, I proceeded to power it up. There is a set-up wizard for the basics, which I followed to get it up and running. It took approximately 20 minutes following the included Quick start Guide to get the TV 'ON', which included scanning for all local channels, connection to my home Wi-Fi network, and selections for the Picture and Sound Modes. However, after two weeks of daily use and 'tweaking' this TV, I have since customized all of the picture, sound, and Internet features to my particular preferences. I love this TV even more now. WooHoo! Without listing all of the exact specifications, here are the characteristics I really like about this Sharp 60” 4K LED Smart TV: ** Wi-Fi Internet Connection – This TV utilizes the latest Wi-Fi standard, 802.11ac, dual band to take advantage of the fastest broadband connections to your router for outstanding wireless performance. It is also compatible with older 802.11a/b/g/n, single or dual band, Wi-Fi standards. TIP: If you purchase this Sharp 60” Smart TV and install it on your Home Internet Network for streaming videos and such, you may want to consider to upgrade your router to a dual band, 802.11ac router. I am impressed how fast this TV responds to my home network at 5.4Ghz radio band for access to stored pics and videos on my computers, DLNA and mirror casting from my laptop. You can also access the Internet with a hard-wired cable through the provided Ethernet connection. ** Picture Modes – You can customize your TV screen to your room's particular lighting conditions. Under the Menu Option on your remote, select Picture Mode. Picture Mode gives you six preset options, Vivid, Standard, Energy Saving, Theater, Game, and Sport. Since all rooms have varying lighting conditions this is very important in order to take advantage of the brilliant colors, contrast, and depth. I use Energy Saving for everyday TV viewing. ** Picture Settings - Once you have chosen your particular preset Picture Mode you can go to 'Settings' and further expand the picture details of Contrast, Brightness, Color, Tint, and Sharpness for each particular Picture Mode. How cool is that? Under Energy Saving I have tweaked the Contrast, Color, and Tint for super-dynamic color presentation for my living room's lighting conditions. However, when I play DVDs or stream videos over the Internet I switch to the Theater Picture Mode with those particular calibrated Picture Settings I previously chose. Then, I sit back and enjoy the enhanced picture quality. YooHoo! ** Sound Modes – There are five Sound Modes from which to choose under the remote's Menu: Standard, Theater, Music, Speech, and Late Night. Each one has a brief explanation of its intended setting. For all around and everyday listening I chose Standard because of the acoustics of my living room. Each and every room has different acoustical properties. So, take your time like I did and experiment with each one. Under Settings you can further configure the sound dynamics for each one of the Sound Modes you have selected. ** Sound Settings – Allows you to tweak each Sound Mode selected to your own listening pleasure. You can choose to turn 'on' or 'off' sound enhancements like Total Sonics, Total Surround, Total Volume, Default Settings, Wall-Mount. Under Advanced Audio Settings you can customize your Equalizer for more enhanced, or, less Treble or Bass, adjust Balance between the Right and Left speakers, and, change the settings for audio out if you use a soundbar system. It is noteworthy to mention this TV utilizes ARC (audio return channel), built in MTS stereo decoder in a dedicated HDMI connection. My ARC is connected to my soundbar system. This allows me to control the sound volume from the TV's remote instead of having to keep both on hand. ** Entertainment Apps – There are numerous available apps under the Apps Settings under various different categories. The majority of these apps are all TV entertainment apps for videos, news, and information. Be aware that some of these apps require a 'Paid Subscription', however, most are Free Video and Movie apps. The included remote features specific buttons to activate Netflix, Amazon, VUDU, and You Tube. You have the ability to customize your most used apps and place them on your Homepage. There is No HULU app as of now, but, you can still access HULU through your web browser. ** Web Browser – The included Quick Start Guide had no information on how to access the included Web Browser. Furthermore, Sharp's TV website does NOT list this model number under 'Support'. So, there isn't a more comprehensive Operation Manual on how to utilize the included web browser. However, following these steps you can access the included browser: * Press the Home Button on your remote. * Go to the Apps Icon and press 'OK'. * Go to the 'SEARCH NOW' Icon and press 'OK'. * A Query Keyboard will appear – type in 'Google.Com' in the Search Area using your remote. NOTE - The arrows on your 'OK' Button are directional and act as a mouse moving sideways to the Left or Right or, Up and Down. 'OK' is 'Enter'. * After you type 'Google.Com' in the search bar, go to 'Web Results', which is directly under your Query Keyboard to the Left, and, press 'OK' on your remote. * The 'Google Browser' will appear as it does in all Android devices. * You can now search for most anything on the web. If you want to go back to the same website you searched for - just 'bookmark' your webpage to streamline the process. It will also be in your 'History'. I accessed my Gmail account using this web browser, but it is the 'mobile version' of Gmail only. ** HULU – I was able to access the HULU 'Sign-In' page through the web browser using Google. It is not as easy as going through a provided app. However, after you 'Bookmark' your sign-in page – it is pretty simple to get back to it. I would highly recommend this Sharp 60” LED Smart 4K UHD TV just for its excellent picture and sound quality alone. But, it is so versatile in home entertainment there are ample ports on the back of this Smart TV to connect any and all of your high tech audio and video devices. For its price point and value it is an outstanding bargain for all the included features and attributes it offers. It even has a built-in UHD Upscaler, which converts many of my cable and local TV stations that have lower resolutions, to content as close to 4K as possible. This Sharp TV has transformed my living room into a home entertainment center. Love it. YooHoo!

Although not exactly the cheapest for the size and feature, this TV offers good value for the features and performance. + Price for size & features (4K, Smart) + Easy Set Up for Wi-Fi, etc. + I love the dedicated Netflix, Amazon, YouTube buttons on the actual remote!!! How cool is that! (But no Hulu?? Luckily I don't use it anymore or I would've taken a point off) + Test quality with actual 4K videos on YouTube is excellent! - No HDR, but it's to be expected for this price level - App loading is a little slower - Sound quality is sub par, but then again, most people expect to pair LED TV with Soundbar anyway

The picture is perfect. The setup took 10 minutes, literally. It's super convenient. But yesterday, it shut itself (and turned itself back on again) all on its own. Need to see if that happens again. If so, I'll be returning it.

Since I got this on Black Friday I got a good deal for it. Great colors, great quality. I’ve never had a Sharp before. Might have given it 5 stars, but have had issues with the internet. For some reason it drops out, wether in wireless or wire. It works fine and then that happens. I don’t know if I’ll Go through the process of getting it checked. I use an Apple TV anyway so not too concerned. Other than that it looks great. If I were to rely on it’s internet it might get frustrating. Test it well with Netflix and YouTube before assuming that is working fine.

So far this has been a great tv. Good picture, pretty good sound. Have also gotten compliments on picture from guests. Haven't had time to check out smart tv features. My one criticism is that there is no manual power or volume buttons along the bottom or sides so you better keep track of the remote.

was ecstatic at finding a 55 in at this great price. I bought online Black Friday night and picked up at the store the next day. I was going to wait til my Ol Mitsu died before installing but just couldn't wait to try my new toy out. Since it was Saturday they're was plenty of college football on. I was in love at first sight. Amazing picture for me a sports lover. I did my homework before this purchase finding out about the new 4000K TVs. I as told that most providers aren't broadcasting in 4000K yet. When I watched my first game you could have fooled me. If it's this great w/o a4000K broadcast can't wait to see when it is. I'll be in double TV Heaven. I beautiful picture on a great priced 60 in 4000K TV!

First off, let me say this is not one of the BEST 4K TV's out there, but it is an incredibly good TV at a great price. The picture is amazing, there are plenty of inputs, and surprisingly adequate speakers for a TV! The only thing I'm not crazy about is the remote.....while it's a decent looking remote, it's not very responsive. Also, the TV's menu leaves much to be desired. But at $549 (reg. $799) you just can't beat this TV!
