With all the hype, I had hoped this film was going to be something spectacular. However the evolution of the Godzilla character left me a little disappointed from the visuals I was hoping to see. The film did progress into what I hoped for so ultimately I liked it and can recommend it.

Easily one of the best Godzilla movies ever made. The human element was very interesting with the bureaucracy they have to deal with. Godzilla itself was a monster. Very animalistic in it's behavior, and also terrifying in it's actions. If you like Godzilla movies then you have to watch this. If you like disaster movies, you will also like this.

This is the best Godzilla reboot because it modifies Godzilla himself in a way which works. There is a lot of humor in relation to the way government tries to deal with the Godzilla threat, based upon the reaction to Fukushima, and even if some find this boring I do not. Once Godzilla fully comes to his final form, he shows why he reigns supreme

It's been a long time since Godzilla was serious. "Shin Godzilla" is an all new stand alone entry in the franchise, yet it is the first movie that feels like a sequel to the tone and message in the original "Gojira". Godzilla is used to provide strong commentary on Japanese government and how it handles natural disasters. Absolutely recommend.

This is very much in the vein of the more classic "rubber suit" Godzilla with the exception being CGI is employed for the monster. As usual, there's chaos, confusion and pandemonium when Godzilla shows himself - as if they'd never heard of him before! There's only dozens of movies about him already...

This is a Godzilla movie from Japan with a very limited budget. If really cheesy special effects turn you off then avoid this at all cost. Some of the monsters will have you borderline laughing at how silly they look. If you can ignore that and enjoy it for the story it won't disappoint. Just be aware of what you are getting yourself into.

Was kind of disappointed. They didnt show Godzilla much.

Didn’t know what to expect. But I truly enjoyed this movie. Loved what they did with Godzilla to bring it mythologies up to date. Much better than the US version that came out a few years ago. That movie in its own right was very good too. If you liked the US version that came out a few years ago, then you would love this more.

If you love the ominous feeling the original 1954 film created, then this is the PERFECT Godzilla film for you! There is action, but this film is more of a drama. This is a much more thought-out entry in the series, and a subplot that requires a little thinking to solve. Even non-godzilla fans may find the scenario compelling.

Shin Godzilla was an excellent film. Not quite what i expected from a Godzilla movie, but thats part of the fun. It's a new revamped, more monstrous Godzilla. The Japanese did a great job of mixing practical efx and cgi. This has both an old school and new school feel to it.

This particular Godzilla movie was a big surprising. Some of my friends hated it, and some loved it. I thought it was a great throwback to the original Godzilla movies of my childhood (60s and 70s). It had a premise I wasn't expecting, and was definitely more realistic.

I had been waiting to get this movie ever since I saw that it was being released here in the states. If you are a big Godzilla fan I would recommend getting this movie to add to your collection. A different retelling of the monster I grew up with as a kid, but nevertheless entertaining to say the least.

This is an excellent release of Godzilla. The quality of the special effects are very well done. The political undertone was a bit distracting but overall it was great to see Gojira back on the big screen in Japan.. A must have for any Godzilla fan.

Great video and audio presentation here. Extras are lacking and missing some behind the scenes footage and making of features, but worth it for any Godzilla or monster movie fans. Not the best Godzilla movie by any means, but a solid entry in the long list of films.

This is the best Godzilla movie of all time. I watched all the Godzilla movies and the more recent one were all bad. I hate the typical plot that you won't see Godzilla until the very end of the movie. This movie cures all the defects of a typical bad Godzilla movie - highly recommended.

Very well made Gojira film. From the people of Evangelion, there is a lot politics involved with added drama. Gojira himself is creepy too! Wished sound was better!

As a fan of all of the Godzilla films, this one takes it back to the roots of a giant monster coming up from the sea and destroying a city. There's a few differences with the beast, itself, but they exist to show how Japan''s government has been dealing with many existing problems.

How do the powers that be deal with a catastrophic Kaiju attack? Watch this movie and learn. Godzilla has never looked so grotesque! A great way to breath new life into a franchise with over 20 movies in it's arsenal. I'd give it a 4.5 if I could.

Toho finally decided to reboot Godzilla and its a whole new take on the Godzilla movie, it shows how the government would deal with Godzilla today, some people found it slow, I found it fascinating and final image of Godzilla is haunting!!!!

This movie is very much a more modern day retelling of the classic Godzilla story. Back to a guy in the rubber suit, with some scenes that are CGI. Liked the movie overall but at the end I kind of felt like I wanted a little more.
