I was a little weary about forking over $200 for a pair of earphones... boy am I glad I did! I listen to music on my iPhone for at least 2 hours a day at work or the gym, as well as play piano (digital with a headphone jack- great for when everyone else is asleep), so a good pair of headphones is a must. Couldn't get rid of the lousy iPod pair fast enough. Bought a pair of Sony earbuds. Weren't too bad. Upgraded to Bose earbuds but they didn't seal well at all, leaving the bass sorely lacking. Wound up with Bose over-the-ear, which have pretty good sound, but aren't practical for working out or travel. Finally decided on the Shure SE315. After ensuring a proper seal, I was immediately blown away! I could listen to my music at much lower volumes and still hear everything clearly, and the noise isolating feature works beautifully. The best part, though, was hearing things in my music that I'd never heard before. The sound of a harp being plucked or a guitar being strummed could easily be distinguished. Sounds that were once muddled or ran together are now clean and crisp. I find myself going through my music library just to hear what I'd been missing.
If you are happy with the way your MP3 player / generic phone-supplied headphones sound, these probably aren't for you. But if you want amazing sound and can afford them, they are well worth the money.

Several people said these are hard to put on so I almost didn't buy. That would have been a mistake. These have excellent sound quality and once put on it is not difficult after the first time. Had I listened to those review I would be missing out on a great product for listening to music.

WOW, this is the real deal. Used by Musicians to monitor their live music, but when plugged into the MP3 player they become the best ever earphones. Lows, highs and mids are sparkling and clear/clean. Another tip - I use these as I ride a motorcycle, as the flat design does not catch the wind.

Earphone sound awful and earphone will not stay in place. This is suppose to sound isolating but it does.
