This is a wonderful film about two guys heading off to the Napa Valley for wine and golf as a bachelor trip before a wedding the coming weekend. But this isn't Bachelor Party or The Hangover. This is a masterful film that manages to find humor while exploring some dark undertones in the relationship of its characters - especially the loneliness and lack of confidence in it's primary character. Wonderful acting performances by all the leads. If you appreciate good film, you need to see this movie if you haven't already.

Excellent story punctuated by outstanding writing, acting, production values, and character development. Though the main focus is on (multiple) relationships, their dynamic portrayal, as well as frequent comic relief, allows the movie to progress seamlessly from scene to scene.

Truly one of my favorite films, which also turned me onto the wine scene. If you like buddy movies or smart drams infused with real l life humor, then this is your ticket to an astounding 2 hours. Amazing performances in a terrifically written and directed road movie.

Good off beat buddy road comedy movie. Alexander Payne writing and directing. Which entails quirky characters and some risky situations. Paul Giamatti(American Spendor type role) and Thomas Haden Church(wings) plays the complete quirky weird bad boy.

Paul Giamatti and Thomas HAyden-Church at their best, along with Sandra Oh in one of the best movies of the 90's. I loved it when it came out and can still re-watch it 20 years later.

Love to grab movies from Best Buy out of the “discount bin”. Quite possibly my favorite hobby. This film is great, but knowing I got it at such a bargain makes it that much better!

These two guys are rather despicable, but the story is funny and involving, and the women are much better than they deserve. Fun.

Great guy road movie, not for kids . Very funny movie about two friend going on a road trip, before one them gets married.

With two great lead performances and a funny, heartbreaking script from Payne, Sideways is a big recommendation.

If you haven't seen it buy it This is the kind of movie you will pull out time and time again. It's a keeper

I’ve been meaning to get this on Blu-ray. Of course it would be Best Buy where I ended up getting it!

Great movie, with great screenplay and directing. Quality of Blu ray transfer is also noticeable.

I think the acting of both guys is very good. The story is excellently done and it keeps your attention.

In 2004 a little road trip dramedy called Sideways created a surge in popularity for California Wine Country and gained an Oscar for best adapted screenplay. The acting across the board is tremendous and the dialogue is truly memorable and quotable. If you have not seen Sideways in HD you are in for a treat because it looks fantastic with lots of pop and saturated color bring all the vineyards to your living room. Plus the lossless soundtrack brings you closer to the music and dialogue so you can hear every zinger of a line delivered by either Miles, Jack, Maya, Stephanie, or anyone from this classic ensemble. Sideways, now, 14 years old, has definitely cemented itself as one of the finest road trip comedy dramas of all time. It has laughs, beautiful locations and music, and plenty of heart.

Paul Giammati and Thomas Haden Church set out on a weekend trip from LA to Sonoma's wine country. Unfortunately for them, but fortunately for the audience, their wine tasting adventure goes "sideways" in a series of hilarious misadventures. Paul G. at his very nebbishly best is ably supported in this light fare by Church, Virginia Madsen, and Sandra Oh.

I loved the writing and simple storytelling of this movie. I would recommend it to anyone.

Paul Giamatti is a great actor and his interaction with the other characters makes this movie great.

This movie had been recommended years ago. I do not regret the purchase at all! : )
