    Best Purchase of 2022

Best purchase I made in 2022, hands down! I was looking for a decent mattress and found this one on a slack Friday deal for $467. I did some research because I have never had a foam mattress before so I didn’t want to make a purchase I would regret but I am so happy I got this mattress. It arrived in a big box a week or so later and I have been sleeping comfortably ever since. I am a side sleeper and like super plush beds so this is perfect for me. I share my bed with a 70lb golden retriever and 18lb cat and they both seem to enjoy our new bed. I don’t toss and turn as much at night and I don’t really feel the movement when the pets get on and off the bed as much as I did with my old innerspring. I cannot say enough good things about this mattress. If you’re hesitant about this mattress, do your research to make sure it is right for you but I am sure you won’t be disappointed with any of the Simmons plush mattress options Best Buy has.

The Simmons 12" Plush Memory Foam Mattress is a solid yet comfortable alternative to a traditional spring mattress. This mattress conveniently shipped rolled up in a big box that weighs about 75 lbs, so it is recommended two people bring it in, especially if your bedroom is on the second floor and you need to bring up the stairs. Don’t cut open the compressed plastic bag until it’s where you want the mattress to expand. Once you do that, watch magic happen, as the mattress morphs into a real bed. Probably best to give it a day or so to reach its full fluffiness. Like anything new, especially memory foam mattresses, there is a bit of a chemical odor, so don’t put the fitted sheets on right away. The top 2 inches are made of gel memory foam that contributes to the plushness of this mattress. It contours to your body all night long. Great movement separation between two people sleeping on it. The edges and sides of the mattress do not offer as much support as a traditional spring based mattress. Also you may find it different or more difficult to sit-up, say if you’re reading a book or spending time on a tablet before going to sleep. Overall this is a good value and quality mattress from a brand you can trust.

    Mattress on the Softer Side

We decided to replace my young son’s 6” hybrid memory foam full size mattress with the Simmons 12” Memory Foam, Queen. We noticed with his current mattress that he was tossing and turning throughout the night, and when he needed help going to bed, it was very difficult to creep out of bed without shaking the mattress. We hoped that the Simmons could take care of both of these issues, and we were pleasantly surprised with it. The mattress itself comes in a box, vacuum sealed and rolled to reduce its overall size during delivery/transport. It still weighs around 80 pounds, and I found it relatively easy to bring up to our 2nd floor while still in its compressed state. Removing the layers of plastic that keep it compressed can be tricky, so an extra hand might be useful during this. Once you cut into the plastic, the bed will immediately expand. I gave it an hour or so to let it fully decompress before putting the mattress protector and sheets over it. Get a mattress protector to protect your investment. With its first night’s use, my son was fast asleep in the order of 5 minutes or less; it would take him at least 30 minutes to get comfortable with the outgoing mattress. I guess young kids love the feeling of a cloud for a bed. Also, the Simmons does a pretty good job of isolating movements (like shifting your body position on the bed), avoiding the chance of distributing that movement across the mattress and disturbing my son while he sleeps. It’s not at the luxury level of movement isolation, but it’s pretty darn good. Other features of the bed include a Climate Cool material to help reduce the heat from your body and a foam core to ensure that you don’t create dips and valleys overtime from daily use. I only have one con: I measured the actual thickness of the mattress and it came to about 10.5”. So that’s about 1.5” of mattress that I wasn’t getting according to the product description. It’s almost more of a 10” mattress than a 12” mattress. I docked a star for that. From a grown adult’s perspective, the bed is definitely on the softer side and hence the “plush” name given to the bed. The firmness may not be for everyone, so figure out what kind of mattress firmness works for you. But ultimately, the Simmons Plush 12” Queen Memory Foam mattress delivered and now my son sleeps easily through the night. I think it is reasonably priced for the quality and features it provides. It comes with a 10-year limited warranty which covers manufacturing defects in the mattress or foundation, including faults in materials and workmanship.

    Better than other box mattresses

With so many different types of sleep preferences, and body types I think I need to first share what type of sleeper I am. I am 5 feet 10 inches tall, 185lb person. I tend to prefer sleeping on my back, and side. Though I try to avoid my back when i can due to snoring. I am a very light sleeper as well. I usually wake up 2 times a night. I am also coming from a previous box mattress so my comparisons will be mainly against my experiences with similar products. Set up is easy. There is a chemical/artificial smell to it for a day or two after you unseal it from the packaging, but that was to be expected. Sitting on the edge does offer a noticeable sink. With my body weight on the edge of the mattress it compressed to half its height. It bounces back up quickly and although compressed it does feel firm. When it comes to sleep results. I can say that my quality of sleep was improved over my previous store brand box mattress. My previous mattress didn't distribute weight very well. My lower back tended to be a bit achy in the morning due to it not being as low into the mattress as the rest of my body. While I am a light sleeper, I still woke up a few times a night. But I consistently woke up feeling more rested. Weather it was side sleeping or back sleeping, my lower back issues went away completely while using this mattress. Compared to my previous store brand mattress, this one offered superior sleep quality and comfort. It help up to my preferred sleep styles while alleviating lower back discomfort. High marks for me.

I’m about 7 months into this mattress and it is still like brand new! I enjoy a firm sleep but the memory foam definitely helps support your spine and body to keep you in a comfortable position! I have also moved it into a new residence and it does have some weight to it, but it’s a solid built mattress for being delivered rolled up in a box.

Verdict: We didn’t know what to expect from a memory foam mattress, and we were wonderfully surprised. We are sleeping better, deeper, and longer than ever. This mattress is a keeper. Setup. The mattress arrived in quite a small box. I removed the compressed mattress from the box and I bear-hug-carried the mattress up the stairs to the master bedroom. I do recommend at least two people to carry the mattress. We positioned the mattress on the bed, and then we cut and removed the plastic wrapping, which caused the mattress to begin decompressing. The mattress decompressed to a normal-sized mattress in about 30 minutes. First impressions. We had never slept on a memory foam mattress before so we were surprised about how firm the mattress feels when you sit on it, and then how soft it feels once you lay down. Comfort. I prefer very plush and soft mattresses so I was worried that a memory foam mattress would feel too rigid. My wife had no concerns and was ready to try something new. After the first night, my wife noted that she slept deeply and without interruption. I was very comfortable, but I woke up several times. I tend to turn over at night and turning-over on memory foam is a little trickier so I think I wake up when turning-over. My wife has slept amazing since the mattress arrived. She has also said that she cannot feel when I am moving around because of the isolating properties of the memory foam. It took me a week to get used to the mattress, and now I feel that I sleep very well. I still turn over, but I am now staying on each side for several hours because I fall asleep more deeply. I have to say that I am sleeping so well lately that I try to go to bed earlier and wake up a little later to have more time on the bed. Lastly, the bed doesn’t get too hot or too cold, contributing to better sleep overall. Things I like: - Ships quickly and arrives at your door! - Compact packaging makes it easy to carry it to your bedroom - Perfect softness and wonderfully comfortable - Good temperature control: not too hot and not too cold - Isolates movement on the bed - Low price! The value is incredible on this mattress. We spent half of what we normally spend on a mattress, yet we are twice as comfortable! Things I don’t like: - It can take some time to get used to the feel of the mattress; I think this is perfectly normal though. Overall, this is a fantastic mattress. The Simmons memory foam mattress provides unmatched comfort at this price range, and even at much higher prices. It has improved our sleep significantly and we are grateful to have taken a chance on a new type of mattress.

I’ve had this mattress for a little over two weeks now. First off, I absolutely love the “mattress in a box” idea. It was delivered to my front porch, not super heavy so was easy to get it up the stairs without having to fight a huge, awkward, floppy item. It was very tightly secured in plastic and once we cut it open, we watched it grow. It didn’t have any harsh smells out of the box which for memory foam I was totally expecting. I let it sit fully over night and came back to it the following evening. Now for bedtime. At first sit, this mattress is SO comfortable and when laying down it was very supportive and comfy. My husband comes in to lay with me and that’s where our problems began. The outer edge of the mattress is also very soft, there’s not much support which truly, I wasn’t expecting to be a solid outer edge but at least to have a little more support. I felt like I was going to just roll off the bed when I was too close to the edge. My husband outweighs me by a little over a hundred pounds. We definitely noticed this while laying side by side. Throughout the night I kept rolling over towards him and not on purpose just because the mattress obviously was sunk in more on his side than mine. This mattress is very comfortable but I wouldn’t use it as my mattress just because I guess it’s a tad too soft for our weight differences. We have switched it out to our daughters room who is 17 years old and she’s in love. Final thoughts during this trial for me, if you’re a lighter weight couple, or a single person, definitely buy this mattress. You’ll love it. But if you have some weight to you and are a couple it’s just not for you.

Having slept on my new Serta Simmons mattress, I can definitely say that this is a great mattress for me, what do I mean by for me? I mean that I personally like soft beds, I sleep on my side and if the mattresses is too firm I wake up with shoulder and neck pain. If you like your mattress firm, this mattress is not for you as it is more on the soft side which is evident by the word “Plush” on the description. Regardless of what size you get, your mattress will come in a box, and when you take the mattress out of the box it is wrapped in plastic, once you are remove the plastic the mattress will start to inflate automatically, full inflation will take 1 or 2 days, but you could technically start sleeping on it right away. Word of advice, like all mattresses that come wrapped in a box, and this is true for bed toppers too etc. is that when you first open them up, they will have a very distinct chemical smell, this smell goes away on its own after A few hours or so, so I would at least advice to set up your new mattress in the morning that way it will be mostly inflated and the smell will mostly be gone by the time you go to sleep that night. Overall a good quality mattress at a reasonable price.

After I finished building my daughter's new bed, we decided that she needed a new mattress to replace the firm traditional innerspring mattress she'd been using for the past 10 years. She said that she wanted something softer so this seemed to fit the bill as it was described as "Plush Memory Foam". My only hesitation was that this would be the first mattress that we bought without seeing it and trying it first in a store. I decided that Simmons was a reputable brand and I would give it a shot. We got her the full sized option. When the mattress arrived, I was a little surprised at how much it was folded/compressed/rolled to fit into the shipping box. We took the mattress out and released it and as though through magic, it expanded to a full size mattress. The instructions say to give it 24-48 hours to fully decompress but I don't think it took that long. Since it has no springs, the edges tend to compress a lot when you get into the bed, so if you sleep close to the edge, be aware of that. For my daughter, she's basically in the middle. The actual thickness of our mattress when fully expanded was 11.5", which I think is typical Sleeping on the mattress, it's very soft while still being supportive, all the qualities that you expect from a quality memory foam mattress. My daughter said that it's much better than her old mattress and that she really likes it. I asked her if she was either too hot or cold and she said that she was comfortable. I tried it myself and found it to be very comfortable, supporting my lower back well when lying on my back, but still soft. You sink into the mattress some (the plush factor) but then the foam core offers good support. Overall, I liked the fact that it was compressed for shipping and moving to the bedroom, that made it easier to move around before putting it in place. My daughter really likes it, especially compared to her old innerspring mattress which was more on the firm side.

12” memory foam mattress that rebounds

The Simmons Plush 12" Memory Foam is a nice and comfortable mattress. The packaging was relatively easy to open. It came with a letter opener to carefully cut the plastic off. Once opened we let it sit out for 24 hours for it to expand fully. Some mattresses can smell a bit when they are opened up, but this one didn’t really smell like much. It was a little bit firm at first, but after a couple days it became a lot more comfortable. It feels like you sink into it a bit when you lay on it, but not too much. It is kind of plush on top and a bit springy under that. It reminds me more of an innerspring mattress than a memory foam mattress. The top of the mattress rebounds quickly unlike older memory foam mattresses I’ve seen before that did not. I would call it a little more on the firmer side, so don’t expect it to be super plush.

I hate mattress shopping, it is totally subjective. I hate my old mattress more. So I gave this a try. For me it was firm, in my old mattress I would wake up to force myself to roll over. I did not have this problem with the Simmons. I did not get super hot, I am just a hot sleeper and it is the winter. I did not feel my dog move around in my old mattress I would. let me get back to setup. This is pretty heavy, even in the box. If you can get it delivered for free then do it. The box is bulky, you may need some help. If your bed does not have a bunkie board or a flat surface you need to get that. carefully cut open the plastic. Mine took less than an hour to expand. I let it sit open overnight, the smell was not too bad but just to be safe. I think this is actually under 12", not sure how Simmons measured it. My standard sheets worked just fine, no slipping. Do not sit on the edge. I had not read others reviews and I slipped right off the bed.

I got this for my 13 yr old son, he decribes sleeping on this is like is like sleeping on a cloud. The mattress has good support for your body, without being overly soft or firm. You feel like you sink into the mattress a good 2-3", with nice support whether you sleep on your side or back. The mattress arrived in a 5' tall box x 18" x 18" wrapped in plastic, it easily took shape once unwrapped and came to shape without any manipulation. I was very impressed by the mattresses firm but soft support. I find this simmons to be a nice quality nice sleep and worth every penny. I plan to purchase a 2nd for my 9 yr old sons bed as well. My sons old box spring matress was loudwhen tossing from side to side during sleep, whereas this simmons is dead quiet. I would also consider the hybrid version of this matteress with spring and memory foam also. Time will tell how long this holds up. I would definitely recommend giving this mattress a try if your on the fence.

This mattress was used to replace a mattress in our bedroom. The mattress came rolled up in a box. When you open up the box and remove the plastic, the compressed air escapes and allows the mattress to transform into its natural shape. The mattress feels somewhat firm, but has some give as you lay on it. It wasn’t as soft as my older pillow-top mattress which we’ve owned for years. The sides of the mattress isn’t as firm as other mattresses I’ve owned. If you sit on the side of the bed, there’s a lot of give and you sink down a bit lower than more traditional mattresses. Overall, it’s working well for our needs.
