I have used this door lock for over 2 years now. It works well with my SimpliSafe base station. I like the auto-lock feature, when I forgot to lock the door. The outside pin pad functions well. I normally only use my phone to unlock the door, so I haven't used the pin pad too much, thus can't speak for how well the number keys fair over the years (whether the 4 digits keys would show wear and tear first or not). On the one year mark, I noticed a small crack on the zero number key, and it eventually widened to break off 30% of the number, showing the foam interior. I contacted SimpliSafe support for a replacement, and they sent me a replacement pin pad immediately for free. I've had no problem pairing the replacement up with my system and have been happy ever since. This company does stand behind their products.

Very easy to install. This is the second one we bought (2 different doors on the house). You can either screw the keypad on or just stick it on the door. It works with your existing deadbolt. I just push lock when I leave and it locks the door; you can also use the app to lock/unlock. The Simplisafe app is easy to use.

Are you an existing SimpliSafe subscriber? Stop reading reviews, this is the only smart lock you need. Not a SimpliSafe Subscriber? Staaahhhhp leaving this lock bad reviews - you're ruining it for the rest of us who do pay to play! I've been on the lookout for a smart lock since moving into my current house about five years ago. I've bounced around between the Ring smart home ecosystem and the Nest smart home ecosystem, but couldn't ever commit to the right lock. I nearly pulled the trigger on the August smart lock on several occasions, but eventually got nervous having to maintain a separate app to lock and unlock the doors. Earlier this year, I also nearly bought a Yale lock due to it's integration with Simplisafe, but eventually decided against it for the same reason as August since the version that also works with Nest is not compatible with Simplisafe. Enter the Simplisafe smart lock.... As someone who was nearly ready to spend 2x-3x the cost of the Simplisafe lock for a smart lock from Yale or August, I was left trying to figure out "where's the catch" when I saw the $99 price tag on this Simplisafe lock. The functionality seemed similar to the other locks I was considering, but the native integration directly into my existing Simplisafe system was the thing that pushed my across the finish line. Finally, I could control a smart lock that played nicely with Simplisafe without having to control is from a completely new app. With an existing monitoring subscription - and yes, only with the monitoring plan - you can check the current lock status of your lock and remotely control it anywhere you have LTE or wi-fi service. Can't remember if you locked the door? Open the Simplisafe app and check. In-laws stopping by to drop off a pie? Open the Simplisafe and remotely unlock the door. Actually, better yet, set-up a personalized "in-law PIN" and receive a text message alerting you when your wife's mom enters your home unannounced via the included keypad :-) BEST FEATURES: -Does not replace your existing physical key and allows you to use the physical key as a backup in case the battery dies in the smart lock -Easy installation - includes everything (including tape to hold your existing doorbell in place during installation!) -Remote lock and unlock -Automatic unlocking of the door when your security system is turned off -Automatic disabling of security system when you enter your pin on the exterior keypad (i.e. no more running to the indoor keypad to turn off the security system before it calls the authorities) -Automatic locking of the door XX minutes after the lock is either automatically or manually unlocked (the time can be customized in settings( -Automatic locking of lock when the security system is armed -Just like the arming/disarming text messages current monitoring subscribers are accustomed to receive, you also receive a text telling you who unlocked each door via pin and which door was locked/unlocked. FEATURES LACKING: -I wish there was a way to automatically arm the security system when "lock" is initiated from the exterior keypad OTHER NOTES: To the negative reviews of this lock related to the lock requiring a subscription to the Simplisafe monitoring program to remotely lock/unlock.......STOP LEAVING BAD REVIEWS FOR THE PRODUCT BECAUSE YOU DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO THE MONITORING PLAN. This lock is half the price of other locks and IS NOT DESIGNED FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE NOT FULLY INTEGRATED IN THE SIMPLISAFE SECURITY SYSTEM. It's sort of like if you reviewed an Microsoft Surface Pen and gave it a negative review because it didn't work as expected with your Apple iPad. Note: I bought my first Simplisafe Smart lock directly from Simplisafe in September 2019 for my front door. I liked it so much that I bought a second smart lock from Best Buy in January 2020 for my garage man door.

I got it for my simple safe Easy to install device it works great for the 1st few months then connectivity issues started start it overall recommended

Great! If you have a simplisafe system and a monitoring plan, there's no better option. It's also the cheapest option most likely. The auto locking function is great and the keypad will turn your system off when armed when you return home. Just works!

Ignore the negative reviews... they are from people who clearly didn’t research this before purchasing it. IF you have a new SimpliSafe system already, this is a fantastic way to round it out. Just had it installed today and it does exactly what it is supposed to do. Nothing more, nothing less.

So far I really like this product. It paired quickly with my Simplisafe hub. It's so convenient not to have to fiddle for keys. I love being able to lock or unlock my door from my app as well. The lock does take a second or two to activate the lock.

Great if you want to lock and unlock your door remotely, also locks the door if you forget to lock it. I highly recommend the product especially if you have SimpliSafe alarm.

Love it. I ran an errand and my kiddo arrived home early from school and I was able to use my app to unlock the door for her instead of her waiting outside in the heat for 5 minutes. I have been a SimpliSafe customer since 2017 and I love them.

Fit poorly over the hole where the old lock I wanted to replace was.

This is my second one of the SimpliSafe locks. It's very easy to install, looks good, and makes it easier to get in the house. It works only with the SimpliSafe Gen 3 base station. Now when one of us comes home, there's no more fumbling with the phone to disarm the system, or bouncing between several apps (previously one for August Lock & SimpliSafe). When you set it all up, you just have to enter the code on supplied pin pad to unlock the door, and it disarms the system at the same time. You still have to use main key pad to set alarm to home or away, but this definitely makes coming home easier. I also like the autolock feature for this, which is customizable in the app/web page.

Attempted to purchase this device for one of the entrys into my home. Install is very sinple and it installs over the existing deadbolt. Would of been easy to utilize but it requires a simplisafe base station for use. I ended up returning and went with a Yale Access Lock.

Works well. Sometimes loses connection with main base and was a little trick to ajdust and Got stuck 3 times. Finally adjustment took. It is nice to be able to lock, unlock and check status of you lock from you phone.

I’m already invested in the Simplisafe ecosystem so I figured this would be a good add on. PROS: -Installation was straight forward. It’s easier to install when compared to the August locks. -slim design, my girlfriend says it is a “sexy” looking lock -plus for integrations with Apple HomeKit via Hoobs -great price compared to others -love that you don’t have to change your current lock CONS: -sometimes get jam depending on how hard I close the door -wish had geo location to automatically open when I arrive(using working around via homekit)

Perfect if you pay for the monitoring subscription! If you’re not paying for monitoring this is not the product you want, rather, get the latest from August. However, I will say this. I spent hours comparing products/services between Nest and SimpliSafe and I would recommend the latter. That being said, I own Nest Thermostat and Protect; I just wasn’t a fan of their Home Security products, even though Nest Cameras are significantly more stylish. I just don’t want Google having access to audio and/or video inside my home, as they are a company that doesn’t give a sheet about consumer privacy. Anyway, in regards to this lock, it looks very high-end, functions as intended and set up/installation is so easy that my 72 year old mother could do it... and she struggles with operating her TV. The one and ONLY issue I’ve ever had is that sometimes when using the outdoor keypad, I have to press the lock button twice. And, maybe that there’s only a 4 digit pin. Hopefully, next gen keypad allows up to 4-6 digits, user’s preference.
