The person who installed the switches was not with the geek squad. He was with a 3rd party company. He never set the switches to the remotes included or the hub. He said that it wasn’t part of the service and you have to connect to hub before connecting to included remotes. Which wasn’t correct. He also disconnected all the wiring for two other switches and said it was like that. Now I need geek squad to come back and fix it. I didn’t know they total tech sometimes uses 3rd party companies. This company also never confirmed a shorter window the day before the work. So I had to wait for 5 hours.

The switches work fine but the app is a nightmare. Difficult to understand, very quirky, requires endless restarts to have lights controlled remotely. Had to consult Geek squad after installation and. although they were helpful, I still was unable to make them work easily. Asked techie friends to help but they agreed that this is a difficult, inconsistent app.

The products are good and work well the installation process was a complete NIGHTMARE! It took them 6 appointments to get the job done. The installer did not even show up one day.
I did ian in home appt to see what I needed, and I ordered exactly what the guy said I needed to order. It was completely wrong.

Spent 3300.00 for nothing but huge headaches. Took the GEEK SQUAD A MONTH to even get to me to begin installations and return policy is 45 days TOPS. But the guys were nice for sure.
THIRD PARTY INSTALLER DID NOT KNOW HOW TO SET UP THE DOOR LOCK ON FIRST VISIT- SECOND TIME THEY NEVER EVEN SHOWED UP TO DO THE DOOR LOCK.
Here is a run down of this mess:
1. Sent 8 Smart Switches (only ordered 6) that don't even work with my house EVEN THOUGH home has current wiring - so have to return.
2. Was sent the WRONG RING SPOTLIGHT camera- so had to return it and had to buy another.
3. Was sent a Front Door Lock- does not work with Alexa and Installers can't seem to install.
4. Installers did set up the repurchased Wireless Spotlight Cameras (correct cameras ) but within 3 days all my batteries were dead.
5. No one took the time to walk me through the Alexa Hub which is supposed to work with Nest Thermostats, Smart Lock, Smart Plugs, Ring Cameras, and Smart Switches . Told me to watch videos on You Tube.
6. Alexa only works with 3 Smart Plugs and 2 Ring cameras- and those two cameras are already offline malfunctioning after only 3 days. ANd only works in Alexa Hub at home. Have to use Alexa App on phone to see camera's during the day at work.
7. Smart Lock, Nest yep you guessed it... Do NOT work with Alexa- so you wind up with 3 different Apps to use the equipment- not so smart it seems to me
Fortunately the door lock and smart switches I can return but the cameras , thermostat s and smart plugs are already installed. So I woudl have to remove all of the installed devices -reinstall the old devices, and then repackage everything to return it. WHAT A RIP OFF !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. SALES PERSONS PROMISE THEY WILL BE WITH YOU FOR LL INSTALLATION ND BE THERE IF ANYTHING GOES WRONG AND THEN BAIL ON YOU. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR EXPERIENCE THE ANGUISH .

Lock and light switch install mess.

Agents were not familiar with new version of remote lock and could not finish after 4 hours. Second agent arrived. Took about 4 hours over 2 days and five agents to schedule a second appt to finish and it was 3 weeks out. On second appt, the notes from the dispatch were wrong (said to install doorbell) and again they were not prepared. Promised to come back 3 days later but didn’t and didn’t call. I just rescheduled another 15 days out. In total that will make it 2 months and much wasted time to get this done. Agents and installers were all qualified and nice, but the system and processes for agents is slow and burdensome. The process and systems just aren’t cutting it when anything unexpected happens. I recommend you wait for this kind of home automation; if you can’t wait, then stick to the minimum you must have.

The geek squad came right on their scheduled time, and installed switch and programmed the Alexa system that we are installing.they kept every thing that they were working with clean and neat, and also wore their mask.

The Lutron smart switches were NEVER installed, despite what it says on my account. The company came - opened up my light switches and said that the Best Buy evaluator (who had come by earlier to advise on what to order) did not judge correctly - that there wasn't room inside each switch to install the Lutron switches properly.They opened a number of light switches and then put them back on the plates- many of them UPSIDE DOWN (which I didn't notice until they left). The install company tried to solicit my business outside of Best Buy (told me to contact them directly). Also told I needed a Lutron hub - which was not recommended when I was initially advised by BB. SHOTTY work, all around. Then the pandemic lockdown happened and I didn't want anyone coming into my home then. I would like to return the switches ordered - those the installers opened and didn't install and those that were not opened. Please advise.

Geek Squad sent an electrician to install my new smart switch. He and his assistant were great and really went about and beyond programming it twice (since Verizon change my router in the middle of the install) and showing me how to use the app. He also fixed a couple outlets while he was there and ran the wiring for me to hang my tv.

Absolutely horrible! There were 5 appointments scheduled for a flood light install dating back to Dec ‘22. We were given install dates and the techs didn’t show up. We were not notified that would not be out to complete the install. I had to inquire about the status and was told at that time the appt was rescheduled. After attempt 5, Best Buy decided to disclose that they do not install floodlights at the height we needed it installed. I wasted several hours away from work during a 6 hour window for no one to show up. Absolutely ridiculous and poor customer service.

Incompetent Installers at Geek Squad

Your tech on two appointments failed to install the purchased products. On the second scheduled appointment, the tech left me waiting for more than five hours and was a no show. I am still chasing my large refund. The purchase of Lutron Casetta Smart Light switch was an install in new construction. The Lutron switch is a 3 wire device which was being substituted for the existing new 3 wire device. The Technician who has no state license claimed he was only capable of installing a one wire switch which illustrated his lack of knowledge or training. Consequently, he failed to show up on the reschedule. Geek Squad has no control over its installers and should not be in this business if they cannot train and supervise their installers.

Geeek Squad was hours late. Switch not programed

Switch was wired and placed and supposedly set up by Geek squad/ electrician who came. It never worked correctly. I reprogramed the switch myself ( no wiring) with the help of UTube on line instructions . The light switch is now working. In there defense they could not come back to get the light working due to Covoid 19 restrictions

Geek squad did not know how to install smart switches. Did not even have basic voltage tester required to do the job. Tech support from switch manufacturer had to talk them through the process. this was the second try.
