    The PERFECT bedroom soundbar

The Beam is great because it sounds good for movies, music, gaming, and sports. Most soundbars sound good for movies but no soundbar this size or in this price range sounds better for music. To hook it there are 2 wires...one for power and an HDMI to the TV. You can adjust all the settings through the Sonos app. Here are the pros and cons: Pros: 1. Great sound quality. The sound is full and distortion free. 2. Easy to setup. It took less than 10 minutes to get it working with my TV after taking it out of the box. 3. Compact size but powerful. It takes up very little room on my TV stand and it gets loud. I stream video from my Apple TV 4K and Roku Ultra and the sound is clean, vocals are clear, and the bass is full on both streaming boxes. 4. Expensive but worth it. The fact that I can use this soundbar as a speaker to play music when the TV is off adds value over the long term. Software updates also keep the soundbar at peak performance...most other brands can't make that claim. Cons: 1. No Dolby Atmos sound. I do like up firing speakers on Atmos soundbars but in a bedroom without high ceilings you can hear directional sound from left to right. 2. I highly recommend adding a subwoofer. You do get some bass but once you add the subwoofer the overall sound is like night and day. The only problem is a Sonos gen 3 subwoofer is expensive. You can add it later though and it's worth every penny. Soundbars that come with a subwoofer have a subwoofer that sounds like trash and are generally bad for playing music. 3. I wouldn't recommend this soundbar for a living room, den, or any room with high ceilings. The compact size works against it in bigger rooms. Bottomline...this is the best compact soundbar you can buy. You can add more speakers over time to build an even better sound system. I'd easily recommend to family and friends.

Great soundbar, good for small screens and rooms. Use it as a speaker for a small room to listen to music. Fills it easily. Just lacks bass, so you either take it as it is or add a (small) woofer (has to be from Sonos!). Two positive & bad things to watch out: + the white light on top can be turned off in the app, nice feature when used in a bedroom. + you can deactivate the touch surface, great if you have people constantly playing with it ;-) - My Beam is white and came with a black power cable. For that price I expect a white cable. - The mesh gets quickly dirty. When you set it up: unpack, but leave it in the cover, then wash your hands and then hook it up. I have a dirt spot, hard to see in picture. But it annoys me every time I look at it… Love the Sonos system. Easy & fast setup. Sometimes (two times in two years) it does not play, check for system updates in the app or unplug all Sonos, restart router, when wifi is back online, plug in Sonos system. Worked for me. Even happened to a network cabled speaker…?!

I really wanted to buy into the Sonos ecosystem but the Arc was out of my budget. I was nervous that the Beam wouldn't be loud enough for our very big open concept living room. Our Sectional is about 11 feet away from the TV. But man does this thing get loud! In the app you can use your iPhone to tune the bar to the acoustics of your room which is VERY nice! You can also adjust the volume in app as well as some minor EQing and much more! It is very compact which is nice and sits low enough not to get in the way of your tv remote LOS when using it. The feature I really love is the center channel that gives great voice clarity and really helps the voices breakthrough and make them easy to hear! You can adjust the bass to make it like a theater with really boomy lows or subtly adjust it all for a clearing all around sound. It also has Voice Control and can be hooked to your Google Home! You can add the sub/ mini sub to this if you want an independent sub as well!

Growing up in an audiophile home I was very quick to scoff at the Sonos products. But like most young men, I had a young lady start hanging around and my large Klipsch speakers with a “confusing” receiver had to leave the living room. Little did I know that Sonos products were an easy, user friendly, and surprising high quality sounding solution. I bought this Beam first to help keep my setup clean and was so impressed I added two Play1s as my surrounds! Setup was a breeze (no running speaker wires a breath of fresh air) and once I tuned the system I was very impressed with the sound.

Purchased the Beam soundbar along with the wireless subwoofer. After connecting the soundbar, we questioned whether or not we even needed the sub....that's just how amazing the sound is from the soundbar. This soundbar far exceeded my expectations and we could seriously have lived without the sub--that is, until after we connected it and experienced the absolutely incredible sound of the two together! And I love the way the soundbar simply 'disappears' underneat our TV! We are hooked! Going back to get a couple of the surround sound speakers next!

I chose the Beam over the larger Sonos Playbar for two reasons, I wanted white and I wanted Alexa. The lesser price was an added bonus however. This soundbar hits way above its price class. It’s smaller and much more attractive then most of its rivals. I also enjoy the convince of whole house sound control through the Sonos App. It’s a very clean sounding product that I would suggest for those looking for the best of the big three: Cost, Looks, Sound.

Overall, the quality of sound is very good. Though, the google assistant and the Sonos App doesn't work that great. It always seem to be that there is an updated pending to be downloaded, but there is not. Sometimes it gets very frustrating when working with the google assistant, as it seems that not all functionality and libraries has been set up. The Sonos app needs an overhaul, ASAP, it's pretty outdated by now. And it is very slow. It it wasn't for the connectivity issues, I will be giving this device a solid 5-star rating. Design is great and fits discrete and stylish as a stand-alone device or together with the TV as a home theater. Finally, I still dont understand why do Sonos ship this unit with a black cable. I bought this in white just to go on top of my chimney, which is white, but the black cable is just ruining the whole purpose of buying this in white.

The Sonos beam is a great home theater speaker for smaller living rooms. I paired this beam with x2 Sonos ONE:SL speakers and I get a good surround sound theater feel. Likes: Aesthetics, quality, sound, size, smart assistance integration, Airplay 2 integration Dislikes: The microphones integrated are inconsistent when I say the magic word, “Hey Google”. I wish they worked the first time every time; No Bluetooth Oh by the way: I don’t have one yet, but getting the Sonos Sub with this setup will give the beam better sound since it doesn’t have to worry about putting out the lower frequencies. If you have the cash, get a sub which I plan to do in the near future. Also, the Sonos app on the iPhone is the only app that can be used to tune the sound via “Trueplay”. So, if you have an android (Google type of phone), than you won’t be able to use the “Trueplay” setting. You will still be able to make EQ adjustments manually though.

Sound is amazing with this Soundbar. Doesn’t even need a sub in my opinion. Virtually sounds like surround sound with just this unit under the TV. Install took a while. Required having an app installed on smartphone. More set up time for smart TV’s and Alexa features devices, but they will make things easier in long run. Alexa synced up quickly. My only quip is that if I someone asks Alexa to play music momentarily while TV is on, she mutes the volume to TV. Then won’t let you unmute and go back to TV volume. So far, she turns TV on, but won’t turn TV off. I plan on getting more Sonos speakers for the house to link all with the app and provide music/Alexa throughout house and in yard.

My soundbar hunt has been enlightening. Started with an inexpensive vizio 5.1 set up. Really good for price. My main seating arrangement is a powered recliner for 2 set up. The vizio was ideal because of placement options for rear surrounds and sub. The weakness of this set up was always the center channel as its most important for dialogue and the remote I despised. I broke down and bought a closeout samsung top of the line atmos system. After spending too much time researching best hookup method for atmos, etc and experiencing low surround speaker volume for all dolby encoded sources I was just frustrated. The bottom line was I had invested almost 1,100 $ on a system that had too many issues and this is being kind. My main source is a 4k apple tv hooked to a 65" samsung with 1 connect. After watching several atmos movies I was scratching my head. I re-hooked up my 200.00 vizio and watched greyhound off apple tv in 5.1. It was so much more involving than the over 5 times expensive atmos set up that it was almost laughable. Much of this can be attributed to speaker placement and the individual channel adjustments on vizio. Hence I returned the atmos set up and purchased the beam solely to try to bolster my need for a better center channel. System is now balanced and sounds phenomenal. I have arc running to vizio and optical adapter running to sonos. Once properly calibrated my apple tv remote controls both vizio and beam. I would put this system at around 650 up against anything at twice the price. Yes it destroys the atmos set up which in my sincere opinion is a total load of crap unless you have low ceilings and a perfectly symmetrical room which 95% of us don't. I was amazed at how many open box soundbars are available at best buy of all brands. I am a big fan of best buy as being an elite member has its perks. Buy with no risk and there is no way I would buy from anyone else with there service and return policy. The sonos beam is a great 400.00 3.0 speaker. Atmos in my opinion is nothing more than another marketing gimmick in most rooms. Its a step back based on my experience. The beam sounds nice for music also as tested some latin jazz off spotify and sounded very nice with nice clean midrange and highs. Highly recommended for intended purpose.

This soundbar is pretty incredible! It has the best quality sound of any other soundbar I listened to, even without the subwoofer. It also has very useful smart capabilities and is very easy to setup. I would recommend it for a small to medium size living room. However, you may want to consider the Sonos Arc for a large living room, as this speaker might not be large and loud enough to cover it.

Sonos beam has some major kick to it. I previously owned the Bose sound touch 300 soundbar with the added wine and rear speakers. The system had too much sound for my condo and disturbed the neighbors so I sold it. Wanted to get some very compact but still has great sound and I was so surprised at how well the sound bounced off the wall while using this. I honestly don’t even need anything added to it as I am highly satisfied, great job Sonos.

For the record, I have 4 pairs of standalone tower speakers by different brands but I don't use them since you need to be hooked to the power plant directly to run them. Sonos does speaker optimization like no other. You can listen to this speaker at 45db (quiet library) average and enjoy all the nuances of the proper recording. Deezer offers you 5 band EQ just in case you are not happy with the Sonos one. So unless you are a bass chaser this does not require the Subwoofer as most other small speakers do. TV aspect I won't even review since it covers a wide gamut of bad broadcast quality. If you are not an "Audiophile" snob you'll agree this is the best bang for the buck.

I was a little reluctant on this system because I was used to the traditional "theater in a box" systems with 5 speakers. I am using this Beam Soundbar with a Sonos subwoofer and only two side speakers. The sound is far better than my old Samsung 5-speaker system. As for the setup ... there are absolutely no instructions other than "download the app and follow the instructions." That is frustrating when the app doesn't find some of the products. It found the subwoofer and the bar but had trouble locating the side speakers. You have to do things in the correct order. I had to delete the app, download it again and start over. When I was finally successful I was pleased but it was frustrating.

Love the sound bar and how easy it was to set up. Bought an open box so had to do a hard reset on it but was still really simple. Still have to figure out how to do the cords and get it all nice and neat looking but overall great quality sound and can finally hear everything we watch! Definitely would recommend!

Gives off a great sound added it to our living room sync to tv and phones for music, can’t wait to add on other Sonos pieces! Easy set up through the sonos app and u can pause and adjust music from the beam itself. The mean will adjust its self to the acoustics in your room at setup.

I purchased this sound bar with some hesitation, but it was on sale so I decided to take the plunge. I had owned the the Sonos One for 3 years, until it decided to not work anymore. I loved the Wifi streaming and Airplay option, and we needed a speaker for the TV, so I thought we'd give this a try. Unfortunately, I think I might be selling my stock in Sonos. 1) After trying 10+ times to configure the unit over WiFi, I plugged it directly in the router, after that it was easy. 2) After, getting everything plugged in and configured with my Samsung TV, the TV will let you know that you are trying to change the volume. However, the Sonos will not change the volume unless you are within 6ft of the bar and pointing the remote directly at the sound bar. 3) The sound is great though, and the music interface is ok, its easy to get lost if you have multiple music streaming accounts. So far we have enjoyed having it in our house, we'll see if this will last more than 3yrs.
