My second Move set as a stereo pair.

This is the second Move that I have purchased. We are a Sonos family, so it was a great addition to our mix. We are using the Move as a stereo pair for when we sit outside by the firepit or are floating in the pool, and it is a lot better than taking our old speakers outside and lugging extension cords. Have had them playing for up to 6 hours without any battery issues. It will shut itself off if you are not playing it after a while to save battery and you have to physically hit the button to take it out of sleep mode. The charging "ring" that it sits on when being charged is convenient and lessens the possibility of cords wearing out from plugging and unplugging. The sound is great, and the device auto adjusts to its surroundings to give a great stereo sound. Even with one unit, the sound is really great. The voice control "hey Sonos" works well and seems to understand commands easily to skip songs or change the volume. At least, it worked when I didn't call it Alexa. My one complaint is that it does not pair to Spotify from within the Spotify app, like our other Sonos speakers. You can select Spotify from within the Sonos app, but the capabilities are missing that the Spotify app has. I hope they fix that. Also, it has a nice handle on the back which makes it easy to move around (no pun intended) since it is a bit heavy. But even as a single unit (not stereo paired) the sound is terrific. I have not tried the volume above 60% because I like my neighbors. It is quite loud and I didn't notice any distortion at the higher volumes. It also syncs perfectly with my other Sonos speakers when I want to have the whole house rockin and can play different music than the rest of the house if desired, like the other Sonos speakers can; basically works just like any other Sonos speaker when grouped or played stand alone.

Bit pricey on the outside, but it delivers awesome sound! Is portable! Wi-Fi or Bluetooth (can't wait to use it at the beach). Part of the Sonos ecosystem and works flawlessly.
Installation a breeze: turn on, select Sonos app on phone. It already detected the device, asked if I wanted to add it, and the rest is history. I like that it senses movement to different locations and revises its sound profile to accommodate the new environment. I've yet to add in the Alexa feature but likely will do so.

Excellent sound across a wide range of music. I’m really impressed with the bass which is a huge improvement over the smaller Sonos One. Very portable, just remember to place it back on the recharge stand after each use. Super easy to setup. Clearly one of the best portable speakers out there.

Bass: 8/10
Mids: 6/10
Treble: 7/10
Sound stage: 7.5/10
Portability: 6/10
Range: 9/10
Connectivity: 9/10
Build Quality: 10/10
Battery life: (too soon to make adequate rating)
Overall Value: 9/10
Start with the obvious... the price is prohibitive especially for what is considered a portable speaker. Sonos is makes up for it with exceptional build quality, thoughtful software integration and sound quality. The bass is rich, warm and surprisingly robust. Highs are clear, crisp and distinct. Mids are little muddy and seem washed out on some recordings. Sound stage is remarkable for a stand-alone speaker and if the cash is there, buying a second for a stereo pair could be a legitimate replacement for many hi-fi implementations. It is a legitimate portable speaker... but it does have some heft. This is due to outstanding build quality and additional weight of a battery. Charging stand is elegant and understated. It also has a usb-c port. Listening at 60% volume, in large room, mids 90s hip hop mix: 90 minutes consumed about 8% - but this is right out of box so a couple of cycles will be needed to gauge battery life.
Ultimately Sonos continues its run of quality hardware with excellent sound performance at premium pricing.
If the cash is available - it is one of the best portables on the market AND makes a great addition to any home theatre setup.

Solid sound as part of Sonos network or standalone

At initial setup, the Sonos Move is just like any other Sonos speaker that you add to your WiFi network using the Sonos app. Only at that point, do you get the new option to switch the Move to being a standalone Bluetooth speaker. A bit disappointing is the fact you have to press a physical button on the back of the speaker to toggle between WiFi and Bluetooth; one would hope the app could do that as well. Moving the compact 6.5lb Move is easy with a grooved handle at the top. The Move does not have AC and so it must be charged on a regular basis but advertised to last 10 hours. The sound quality (Bluetooth or WiFi) seems as good as the other Sonos speakers. Overall, recommended but it would nice if there was an integrated Bluetooth/WiFi option to allow group connectivity with the other Sonos speakers when using a Bluetooth connection.

I bought one to try and like it so much bought a second one to make them a stereo pair. First, let me say I've never had a Sonos product. For inside house have a standard stereo system and have used the Apple HomePod speakers. The Homepods sound really good and I'd read in reviews they generally beat out Sonos products in sound quality. But we needed some speakers to take outdoor and Apple's just don't work for outdoor as they are plug-in only.
I was very pleasantly surprised at the great sound quality of the Move. Sound as good if not better to me than Apple's HomePod. They are also more versatile. You can adjust EQ, which I love. And they of course have a battery and can be moved around. Love that for outdoors. They sound great outside. Batteries have never run out, have used for five or six hours and they still had over half left. Sometimes it's tricky finding the right spot to place them but better than other small portable speakers we tried by far. I also love bringing them back inside our home and using the airplay feature to play music with them and the Apple Homepods altogether. A great wrap-around sound.
It's also very quick and easy to unpair the speakers. I do this and bring one upstairs to use. LOVE these! Pricey but worth it.

I must admit, when this was first announced, I was pretty meh. What do I need this for? It seemed really expensive for a wireless speaker and I already have a home full of Sonos speakers. Well, now, I think it might be my favorite speaker due to it's versatility.
I own two 2nd gen play 5s, a first gen play 5, a play 3 and several play ones. The move is now my "floating" speaker to fill in the gaps. I have a single play 5 in the basement for example, so I can just bring this down and it really compliments the play 5. I can take it out to the back yard or front yard or to the garage. I was going to buy a few more Play Ones, but now that I have the move, I don't need to add any more speakers to my system.
The Move sounds great. I would put it below the Play 5, but you really can't beat this speaker for a stand alone wireless speaker and the fact that it's Sonos and is part of my Sonos ecosystem makes it worth the higher cost.
The quality is very high. It feels solid and the handle on the back makes it super easy to carry around. The low profile charging stand fits it perfectly and both the stand and the speaker have a grippy bottom so they don't move around.
This is yet another high quality, great sounding Sonos product.

The Portable Outdoor Speaker Apple Should Make

My landscape lighting professional quoted me a price of nearly $8k to put a sound system in my yard. Well, times have changed, and now $800 will purchase two Sonos Move portable outdoor speakers that will give you nearly the same audio quality. But wait, there's more - after your guests leave, you can "move" these speakers inside your home where the party never ends. Yes, they are pricey, but these speakers have more bass than HomePods, they are portable, they connect via WiFi or bluetooth, and you can include them in your AirPlay 2 home network. The Sonos app works great, and you can access them just as well through Apple HomeKit.

I set out to look for a multi-use speaker that had decent sound, could get loud, be mobile/wireless and had Airplay 2. I needed it for a couple different usages, mainly for pairing with a projector that we use in our backyard. Up until now we were using a small Bluetooth speaker, with a RCA jack in, and used a 20ft cable to connect to it. I was never happy with the sound or the fact that I had to use a long cable for it.
After a lot of research I decided to try out the Sonos Move, at first I couldn’t justify the hefty price but there was only a small group of speakers that had the features I needed. I decided on the Sonos Move.
First of all the sound is great! It gets loud without compromise and connects to the projector via an Apple TV and Airplay. Bass is substantial and both music and movies sound amazing. I can place it anywhere without use of cables. I’ve taken it to the beach and park. The battery has never died on me, it lasts around 11 hours I have yet to drain it all the way. I have an Apple HomePod in the house but I find myself grabbing the Move instead. I have mostly Apple devices at home and the Move fits right in. With easy to use app and Alexa and google play integration. I use it with Alexa and Apple Music and it works like a charm. The only issue sometimes is remembering the right commands for Alexa to respond.
Build quality is top notch. It feels and looks great. The charger is easy to use and it also has a usb-c for charging as well.

Love this speaker. First of all, it works on WiFi - but has Bluetooth as well, but I haven’t taken it out of the house yet. It stays on WiFi on my deck, and serves its purposes well. Bathroom jams? Sure. Backyard grilling, yep. How about supplemental whole home audio via Airplay? Absolutely. Don’t be scared by the proprietary app, link Alexa or google voice, sign into your favorite streaming service - and bam. it’ll then show up as an Airplay device and you can choose to use the proprietary Sonos app or not. I don’t really use it other than linakage and settings because I just have too many streaming apps already. With airplay on Apple devices you can broadcast the sound to Sonos, and whatever other Bluetooth speakers are Airplay in your home. I got my jams on the deck, the living room sound bar, which is a totally different brand, the bedroom tv, etc. worth the money. Bass is stronger in doors, but I’ve never had to crank it more than half way to erk my neighbors when it’s outside. Obviously I can’t speak to Android comparability, but it works well with my Windows based Bluetooth enabled desktop too!

I LOVE my Sonos Move! Wow! It's so impressive and how it seamlessly integrates with my Sonos home system is just magical. I love how it will auto calibrate to whatever environment you move it into for the best possible sound. It's so nice for outdoor use! I can have the home system going and the music continues outside! The charge lasts forever too! I was working in the garage the other day for 4 hours and it just kept going! It's worth every dollar whether you own a Sonos home system or not! Love love love! Don't consider this speaker, BUY IT!

I’m a big Sonos fan and this is my most recent purchase. I also own four Play Ones, Two Beams, Soundbar, Sub, and the Arc in various locations around my house.
I really love the sound of these speakers because they offer a large soundstage for a single speaker, deep bass response (noticeably better than Ones), and smooth treble response. A very well balanced speaker and definitely one of my most favorite Sonos speakers to date.
My favorite feature is the ability to move it around from my bedroom, bathroom, dining room, and backyard. I even took it with me on a weekend getaway and it was a fantastic choice as my family enjoyed great music during our vacation (I would definitely recommend purchasing a travel friendly case designed for the Move).
I really love the big, fun sound of this speaker and its tremendous versatility. Highly recommended if you are already part of the Sonos ecosystem and want a versatile speaker to use everywhere around the house!

Currently the 4th piece of my Sonos collection. Its the most powerful and clear of all my speakers and the best part... i can take it with me! I brought this to my company bbq and we jammed out for hours to crystal clear tunes. Ppl were literally asking me if all the sound for the bbq was all coming out of that little speaker. It was a hit and a talking piece. Ill be adding another piece soon.

The Sonos move is a must have if you are in the Sonos eco system. I am a newbie with Sonos and just purchased 2 subs,2play5,2play one, and playbar. I needed a portable speaker to take around when going out or in patio. This speaker was worth the 399. The sound quality is awesome and I like that it connects with the rest of house speaker. It’s nice to know we actually have another speaker that we can move around when having a party. Yes the price of the move is almost the cost of 2 play one but knowing that it’s wireless and Bluetooth and can move it around is a plus. The wireless charging is the best I seen. So easy to take off from charger and place it back. Good job Sonos on this feature.

Best portable smart speaker on the market in my opinion. I use this speaker in my home office as a whole room speaker and can take it out by the pool and spa as a patio speaker. Great sound! Perfect solution for me. Love the Alexa control. Even bought a travel case to put it in my backpack to take it on the road for vacation.

First off, I am an absolute Sonos junkie. It took a lot to keep me from upgrading to the Move immediately when it came out. I had a feeling that something smaller was going to come from Sonos to replace my UE speaker so I figured I could let that run for a little while longer. I was a little worried the Move was too big to transport around to the pool, beach, etc but I was wrong!
The size of the Move while larger than most bluetooth speakers is actually an advantage. I could not believe the sound that came out of this speaker! I am used to having to try and fight ambient noises with other speakers but this one has no issue in being louder. Sound quality is on par with other Sonos products too, AMAZING!
There is no doubt the quality of the product as it is heavy, but compact and easy to move around. The had grip on the back makes it easy to grab and go off the provided charger.
Setup was very easy especially if you have Sonos products already in the home. Just find a good spot to drop the charger and use it to fill your living room or enjoy a day on the beach!
My wife made the mistake of getting this for me to add to my Sonos addiction but it is my favorite product of their's so far!

Love this purchase...from the experience speaking with the sales person when I first started researching speakers last December, when I purchased it online a month ago to when I received it. The product arrived a day early, which was a nice surprise. The speaker is awesome. Well designed packaging, easy startup and great sound. Love the easy and mobility, the full rich sound. Overall a great product and great experience.
