We added this speaker to a second room in the house. It was simple to install , and it is simple to operate from our iPhones. If one of us want something different than what is playing on the main system, it is easy to do. And if we want full sound going between the two rooms as we walk from one to the other, it provides seamless and powerful synchronized sound.

I have two Play 3's hooked up in our theater room. They connect to our Sonos Playbar & Sub. With the 5.1 channel the TV sounds great through all the speakers. The Play 3's are the rear speakers and they are crystal clear. We also have 6 Play 1's hooked up in pairs throughout the house & they too sound great in stereo with two in each room.

The sonos 3 is an excellent piece of technology. Great sound, and the fact I can control it from anywhere in the house on any of my laptops, ipads, or cell is a wonder. Plus all the commercial free radio stations is a huge bonus.

I was able to set up the Sonos Play:3 very quickly using the Quickstart Guide (and I'm no rocket scientist when it comes to these things). I got the speaker on my home wireless, downloaded the Sonos app to my iPhone, then connected immediately to Apple Music and have been streaming happily ever since. I can hear the music throughout my approximately 1600 sq. ft. apartment even though the volume is set low enough to not annoy my neighbor. The sound quality is excellent.

I really love how the Sonos software works so I bought this speaker, one of many Sonos speakers I have. This is my second Play:3. I find for the price it doesn't sound much better than the Play:1. I'd rather have a Play:5 but this is of course much more affordable than the 5 and provides more filling sound than a Play:1 although the sound quality is similar. The unit is built well and attractive. The Sonos set up could not be easier, the software is great and is updated frequently while at the same time the speakers aren't physically updated, so you don't have to run out every year and upgrade to the newest hardware because they support it continually.

Sonos is the by far the best option in wireless speakers. The play 3 delivers a clean distortion free sound. I mounted my Play 3s on speaker stands and paired them for a stereo effect in my living room. The sounds fill the entire room with a small foot print.

I has been looking for some Bluetooth or wifi speakers for some time and was really impressed with the Sonos and was in debate over them and another brand that used both tech where Sonos was wifI only. The other brand was cheaper at the time but sound was still noticeably better on the Sonos. Well on a trip into Best Buy I noticed the other brand had upgraded bit price was the same as Sonos but So is sound still better. My deciding factor was the saless associate pointed out that Bluetooth does cut out when you receive call or text etc. He also pointed out the open box deal they has on two play 3 SOLD! Set up I had to do the long route of hooking the speakers up to my modem to get the app to work but that was simple enough. They sound awesome!!! The apps work great! And I now use it as my alarm clock that is great feature also!!! I pLan to get the soundboard and possibly one Play 5 and two more play 3 or maybe play 1 fir surround sound with sound bar due to that being an option too. The only reason I'm giving it 4stars instead of 5 is I wish all speakers had headphone option not just the play 5. And some of the app operations could be simpler so actually I would give them a 4.5. But that wasn't an ootion.

To me, sonos are the best out there for wireless home audio. The features they offer & the quality they provide. I prefer them over Bose. The price is a little up there, but you pay for what you get. High quality, wireless speakers. If you plan to start with a single speaker either in the bedroom or living room, then go for the play 3. But if you want a starter system (like myself). And would want to start with speakers in 2 rooms without spending $600, then start with 2 play 1's and either split them in 2 rooms, or make a stereo pair in a single room. No matter what, you wont be disappointed with any sonos speaker.

I have two of these play 3 and two play 5. SONOS are amazing. I love the clarity of sound and power you can get form any single speaker. It only gets better when you add more! I personally use them to listen to the radio first thing in the morning as I get ready for work. Or to listen to music as I am running around the house cleaning. Having one in the main rooms (living room, kitchen, master bed, 2nd bed room) As I walk though the house I can always enjoy the music. Finally, they are easy to setup and move around the house. The UI on your phone or desktop takes some getting use to, but once you do you'll love it!

Wife wanted something super simple that would provide her music throughout the house when she was working. Friends have Sonos so thought of that first, but then due to expense conducted a whole lot of research. In the end, simplicity of use, compatibility, access to a significant number of apps, ease of installation and a ton of highly respected reviewers all pointed back to Sonos as the leader. Lots of other players, but they have not caught up or surpassed Sonos. Unless you are looking to spent a LOT more, this is as good as it gets. Keep in mind, this is wireless, and the speakers are small enough to easily move around as needed. You are not getting audiophile quality sound BUT you are getting very good sound.

I researched wireless speakers for 1 year after hearing the Sonos speaker system at a friend's vacation home. I tested and listened to several brands. Sonos was far and above the best performing, easy to use system of any that I previewed. Great system, easy to set up, and has worked flawlessly for the size room that it's in.

I read reviews online about Sonos prior to buying my first piece. I can say that I am quite impressed, the sound quality is excellent, there isn't any distortion even at max volume. Set up is incredibly easy. I have a Bluetooth speaker that is similar in size and price, but the versatility of the Sonos speaker is unbeatable. A++

I've been looking for a wireless streaming speaker solution for some time. Heard good things about Sonos, read positive reviews, and decided to take the plunge. In addition to the Play 3, I bought two Play 1s. The product is as advertised. Great sound, easy set up and use. The only con at this point would be lack of Apple Music support (unless you are an Apple hater, then I guess it could be a pro) but I believe that will be addressed this month. You might be able to find a cheaper priced product but an investment in Sonos would be worth your time and money from my experience so far.

This is my 4th SONOS purchase. Not because, I am necessarily adding components, but because in all three of my homes, it always turns out to be the best solution. While not inexpensive, it is a far better bargain than many stereo setups, with great sound quality. I love the app and also that I can move the speakers around anytime I want. I can get great stereo affect with just a couple of speakers, or I can play different music in different rooms of the house. The app is easy, and links to all my sources from downloaded music, to pandora, iTunes, amazon music. Plus I can easily make playlists and favorites. We actually overrode an expensive system that came with the home in favor of SONOS. Highly recommend this speaker. While the smaller speaker has great sound also, this one adds another dimension in quality and volume. I use three of the play one speakers in my Mexico condo it's perfect, but at home in e main house, the bigger speaker fills the space better.

This fills both my living room and my kitchen. I have a pretty open concept floor plan but it works great when entertaining. I dont love the app but it connected to my Spotify just fine. Cant wait to complete the house with a sonos sound bar and one more of these speakers.

The play 3 is much larger than the play 1. Set up is simple, plug it in and add it on the sonos app. You name it and set it up. Then you can unplug and move it anywhere within WiFi range. It needed to have the bass adjusted, sounded tin-ny. But has smooth sound now.

After reading hundreds of reviews on the internet about the sonos line of products, I decided to dive in head first. I bought several speakers including this one (to the tune of nearly $3,000) and have not been disappointed. Are they expensive? Absolutely. Is the sound quality on par with buying an actual receiver and real speakers? Absolutely not. As long as you are aware of this going in, I think you can be satisfied with joining the masses of sonos customers. Don't get me wrong, the sound is great. But it wasn't as good as I expected for the money. I think the sound quality is fine if you're buying individual speakers to put music in several rooms of your house. However, if you're buying these speakers to replace a true surround sound system, you'll be disappointed. What they lack in hifi sound quality though, they more than make up for in ease of access. I have instant access to more music than I could ever want at the swipe of a finger using only my iphone. This is where the high price gets its justification. Even my technophobe wife loves doing it. There is nothing like coming home and cracking open a beer on the front porch while listening to pandora. And I can do this without 5 remotes, turning on multiple amplifiers, etc. It's all right there from my iphone. I never have to get up to change a channel, or even point a remote, I can listen to radio stations in california or I can listen to my own music stored on my desktop. It;s brilliant, I'll never have studio quality sound blaring from my speakers. My simulated 5.1 surround sound will always leave a little to be desired. But we listen to more music now - and a greater variety of music now - than we ever have.To me, that has made this purchase more than worth it. In fact, I would agree with many customers that sonos is a life changing purchase. One of the better ones I've ever made, despite the high pricetag. If you're an average joe like me that enjoys tech gadgets and loves listening to music in every room of your house, you won't be disappointed. If you're an audiophile nerd who must have the clearest sound money can buy, then look elsewhere. This product is not for you. The sub is probably the one sonos speaker where I would say sound quality matches the pricetag. Even without the sonos functionality, this powered sub puts out base that is worth the $700 pricetag. Would recommend it, but only if you already have the playbar.
