This gives great full sound as part of a Sonos system. Good bass

This speaker delivers amazingly good sound for such a compact package. It also has an effective stereo spread built into its design. My one minor complaint with the Sonos system, which overall is a wonderful way of networking speakers throughout a multi-room listening area, is that the app which one is unfortunately required to use to make it work is not easy to navigate, as things aren't clearly labeled and you have to poke around to figure out where things are. (If there are clear instructions on how to access menus, pages and functions I have yet to find them.) This system seems to be tailored for online music listening. I mainly use this to play an analog line level signal from my turntable and cd player, using the Sonos Connect I bought along with it. (I have yet to try the 1/8" analog input on the back.) This works fine, but anyone planning to use the Sonos system for DJ, karaoke or live music of any kind should know that the system introduces a 70 millisecond audio delay so that all networked speakers are in synch with each other, and this might make using it in conjunction with real-time audio problematic.

Looks great and sound quality is fantastic in medium sized rooms. Setup is typical sonos simple. Only complaint is price - wish there was a $100 less expensive play:4 or something.

I returned my entire Samsung Radiant set and replaced them with one of every sonos speaker. The sonos sound MUCH better, dont distort like the samsungs did, the software works better. Also, with the sonos bridge it doesnt choke up my WiFi. Samsung didnt have a comparable product to the bridge. Overall, Sonos still owns the home speaker market.

Was going to buy the Bose but after listening in store to all similar speakers this was by far the truest sound and no distortion as the volume increased. Liked it so much I have paired it with a second 5 and even better.

I have heard the Gen 1 speaker when on vacation. This Gen 2 is amazing. Loud, full of bass and easy working app! Love the options and how it tunes specifically for the room! I am happy I purchased this speaker.

Outlandish dimensional crystaline performance where one can see, taste and smell the performance free from the limitations of distortion when driven to "11". The software interface is intuitive and elegant. Installation and tuning seamless, SONOS customer service totally on point. Our home is alive on every floor and every room.

These sound amazing! Price is steep, which is the only con, but you get what you pay for (high end audio). They are much larger than the play 1s and the play 3s are being eliminated.

Wow! What a fantastic system this Sonos is. I almost never listened to a song on my IPhone or IPad. Now I listen on my Sonos system for one hour to three hours straight. It is that great. I bought the Sonos sound bar, subwoofer & two play five speakers. It was expensive but worth every Penney. Can not go wrong with the Sonos system.

This speaker sounds great and looks good. Better suited for a larger room. Has small rubber feet that allow for flexibility in standing a variety of ways. Simple to set up and use. Very happy with this purchase.

Buy the Sonos PLAY:5 Wireless Speaker, you will be blown away- I know I am. All of the Sonos speakers are awesome (I also have Play:1s and Play:3s). The sound quality is amazing- in my opinion they can only be beat by speakers that cost several thousand dollars each- not worth it unless you're an audiophile with very fine hearing. I LOVE that they're wireless and all the music we play through them is via our wi-fi. Doesn't skip, doesn't miss a note, and with the app you can use your phone to totally control all of the music in your home. If you have Sonos in multiple rooms, you can have the same thing playing at once, or you can select separate sources for each room. I'm hard to impress but hands down, I am impressed by Sonos!

The play 5 is a great speaker. I'm using it in a smaller bedroom as a television speaker and for wireless music - something I didn't realize I was missing before Sonos. This speaker can definitely fill more than a 15x15 bedroom. I was all in with the Bose sound touch system and this is light years ahead of that. Sonos has already updated the speakers and iOS app in less than a month of ownership, while Bose was very slow to send out updates that would often break features that were working before the update with no pathway to fix. Any issues with Sonos and not only is an agent available by phone that is knowkedgable, but they respond instantly almost to twitter service requests, even on the

I bought this speaker for my newly remodeled basement. I have the 5.1 setup in my family room. The sound quality of the Play 5 is significantly better than the 5.1 system, with the exception of the bass. However, the bass quality is still very good for being a self contained speaker with no subwoofer.

The sound quality is top notch. So easy to control the app with iPad/iPhone. I was planning to buy a Bluetooth receiver so I can connect Pandora directly to the speaker, but with the recent software update, it’s no longer needed. I can simply cast Pandora to the speaker. So much easier. Loved it!

I have Sonos all over my house, but this new play 5 takes it to a new level. Sound quality is crazy good and being able to stream all the music in the world is just a bonus.

I had done quite a bit of research before deciding on the PLAY:5. The PLAY:5 kept coming out on top so I decided to purchase and what a great idea that was. The build quality is excellent. Very hefty and it was very well packaged. Setup was a breeze after downloading the app. I’ve been blown away by the sound quality, a very rich, full sound, super crisp with a nice amount of bass. Audio settings can be adjusted via the app so the user can dial in what sounds best to their ears. I’m considering purchasing a second to use as a R and L pair but the sound of one of these speakers is fantastic. I couldn’t be happier with this purchase.

This speaker is great and the software Sonos has is the best out right now! It sounds even better after a week or so depending on how much you use it because the speakers need to be broke in. This is the second play 5 I have purchased and plan on purchasing more in the future. The play 5 is totally worth every penny!

Looked at a lot of speakers of this type and none come close to the sound quality you get from this speaker. Sonos is always making improvements to their products and all you need to do is install the updates when they become available. This speaker sells itself all you need to do is listen.
