I've just recently started building my home theater system and decided to test the waters on the Sonos brand. This Play 5 was open box so I took a chance and purchased the speaker and I couldn't be any happier. This speaker hits hard...as in I pulled my playlist up on my phone walked across the house, hit play, and then was amazed at how loud it still was. This thing sounds amazing and has a ton of power. The integration through the app is flawless, with no hangup or issues. The speaker has a ton of bass for techno, rap, electronic type music and also carried pop, rock, and jazz music extremely well. It's definitely a versatile speaker and I will definitely be checking out more items from the Sonos brand!

Had the sonos play 1 and was a little hesitant on getting the 5. Read reviews and gave it a go. Blows away the 1 obviously and the sound is fantastic. I always listen to all different types of music to see how it handles it. The bass on edc and hip hop is perfect. I like this product a lot!

I loved this, but unfortunately had to return it because Sonos does not support 7.1 surround sound. The bass is very deep and if you don't want to spend the extra cash for the sub this is the next next thing. You can hear it from a couple rooms down or more. It does not distort sound at all when turned to Mac setting.

I have two of these set up as a stereo pair in my living room. The room is nowhere near the size that two Play:5s could fill, but I enjoy having the stereo separation. They're pretty pricey, but if you have the budget, the sound should meet all of your expectations. I'm enjoying them even more now than they support AirPlay 2. Occasionally when using the app, playing podcasts from my device would randomly stop and my phone wouldn't recognize my location in the podcast because it was through the Sonos app, but that doesn't happen anymore by AirPlay 2. I think these are a good product and look nice as well.

Well worth every penny. Out of the box, it was dead simple to set up and get on the home network. It only got better from there with lots of options for music sources: online/internet, local computers, as well as my Synology network storage. Sounds great. Also functions as my backup alarm clock in the morning. :)

Absolutely great sound, clean design and easy to set-up. Much too expensive, but since I have a Sonos 5.1 system in my living room, I really had no option for great sound in my bedroom.

I can't recommend the Sonos speaker system enough. The sound quality is incredible. I bought the Play 5 for a 50th birthday party. We were able to crank the music up to top volume and the quality was club worthy, it was phenomenal. It's super easy to set up, it practically sets itself up once it is connected to wifi, it honestly couldn't be easier. Not only can you listen to whatever playlists you have on your device (iPhone, iTouch, etc), you can also easily access SiriusXM, Pandora, Spotify or any other internet music system you use. I highly, highly recommend this product. All our friends were blown away with the sound quality and want to purchase their own Sonos speakers now!

I purchased this item and after some trouble adding it to my networks and multiple attempts at updating Sonos, the sound is great! It covers two medium sized rooms and has punch and deep bass that make the music come alive. Works seamlessly with my other PlayBar and the Sonos app!

The Play:5 speakers have flat out awesome sound. Setup was easy and so was pairing two of them for stereo sound. I plan on buying more but the price is a stinger but worth it. I am a true believer in getting what you pay for and you definitely get what you pay for in the Play:5.

Really terrific sound quality! Easy to setup with the Sonos app which has you playing your music in no time. Having a few challenges with the app - not always playing an entire album through for example - but that says more about the app then the speaker. Great size and design of the speaker as well.

The songs speakers are awesome. They deliver quality sound to make your home surround sound system that connects to the soundbar and the woofer and as many other speakers you want to make a fantastic surround sound system all controlled through the app which allows you to control the volume by your phone on the app. You can use it to play surround sound through your TV or your music you have downloaded on your phone. The sono speakers come in two sizes. one large and one smaller. The sonos play 5 speakers are great to place in all corners of the house and the play 3 speakers are larger and can add incredible sound to your home theater.

Sonos has perfected the Play:5 this unit has deep bass and you can now set it up horizontal or vertical. The True sound update works really well tuning the Sonos depending on where you set it. Overall this is the Sonos to get!

Placed this speaker in my family room. The sound is terrific and fills that room plus the kitchen - especially when I elevated the speaker on a stand. Base is deep and the highs are crisp - you can tune to your liking. Highly recommended. Well done Sonos.

I needed a little more than my Sonos 1 could supply for my main family room. The Sonos 5 fills the entire living room, kitchen and dinette with full sound. Setup was a snap.

Originally I was planning on buying the first gen because it was cheaper but when i heard this playing in the store I just knew I had to get it. It works great as a stand alone speaker but you can pair them and add them to the rest of the play series for a even louder experience.

I have several of these speakers, and they are easy to set up, they sound great, and they look great too. They are pricey, but overall worth it. NOTE that some Play:5 speakers have a problem with the wireless card; it fails and the speaker will not connect via wifi. If you have that issue, contact Sonos customer service and they will replace it. That was my experience, at least. Great customer service with Sonos. (Unfortunate that the speaker had the problem in the first place, but...)

Great speaker with an excellent control package. I have a Play5, Playbar and 2 Play1s. They fit nicely together whether playing the same music on all of them at the same time or different music in each room. The Play5 is a great foundation for a full home sound system.

Happy with the purchase. Great sound and easy to use app. Fills my large living and dining room without a problem. Has great deep bass sound and able to adjust depending on the type of music I am listening to.

We have quite a few Play:1 speakers and a few Play:3 speakers. I'd been wanting to try a Play:5 at home and WOW! it did not disappoint. Great bass, mids, and highs and really, really does an impressive job of filling a room with great sounds!

Added the new Play 5 to my growing collection of SONOS speakers and I couldn't be happier. I have a couple Play 3s and they sound great but the 5 is in another league. The ease of setup & use is amazing. It's awesome hearing my music in all the rooms of my home!
