Easy way to add Sonos to your existing set up

I used the Port to add Sonos to my existing set up. It took less than five minutes to add this to my existing amp and speakers and be streaming Sonos music throughout the house. Plug the included RCA patch cord into the OUT connections on the Port and plug them into the Line IN connection on your amp, Plug the AC plug in and let it boot up. Add the app to you phone. Done. I also added Sonos speakers in other rooms of the house that did not have speakers. I already had Sonos at our other home and the app knows which home I'm at (based on the wifi network) and only shows the Sonos components for where I'm at. Volume through the amp is quite a bit lower than my old bluetooth receiver, but this can be fixed in the app settings. Pricey, but a simple and effective way to add Sonos to your existing system.

This device coupled with my Sonos Arc 5.1 allowed me to coonect my whole home audio to two additional rooms. The whole system controlled effortlessly by Sonos application. The expert advice provided by Geek Squad installers came up with this solution that provided a great solution in home theater, whle home audio and 5.1 in family room. Excellent install and demo of how to use. Cleaned up and took care to respect home furnishing

Excellent device to use legacy equipment

Excellent media player. I connect my turntable and CD player to the Port. Play connected equipment to my Sonos system. Arc, sub and two ERA 300 on Sanus speaker stands.
The sound is awesome.
How did I connect two devices to the Port? I used two "Y" cables. Two female RCA to one male RCA cable. I purchased one RED marked and one White marked. I purchased high end cables and not those cheap ones. I crossed the cables as I wanted stereo and not mono. That is important step. It's a pricey Sonos player but well worth it if you want clear sound production and want to play your legacy turnable, CD player, AV receiver Etc to the Sonos sound system.
See photo of the Y cables needed to connect two devices to the Port.

Finally found turntable set up for Sonos speakers

It took forever to decide on a set up to play albums in my kitchen. I finally settled on connecting a sonos port to my old reciever (which is connected to my turntable). Now I can connect any Sonos speakers throughout the house to my turntable. I went with the Sonos 5 speakers and a Sonos subwoofer for the large open space covering my living room/dining room/kitchen. I am very happy with the result. I also bought a Sonos Era 100 speaker that I use in my bedroom. For the money, if you have a smaller space I think the Era 100 works just fine.

This little box allowed me to integrate my legacy audio stack into the Sonos system that serves the rest of the house. Sure is nice to be able to use the Sonos app (which I have hooked into Tidal and YT Music) to control the music too! A bit pricey, but it works great.

Excellent way to synchronize "old-school" systems with SONOS. If you currently have a music system you like, but also now have some SONOS Wi-Fi enabled speakers, add this Port to your "old-school" system and control everything on the SONOS app. Love it!

I initially had some apprehension about the Sonos Port Streaming Media Player. I wasn’t familiar with Sonos products, and I wasn’t sure how well it would integrate with my existing audio equipment. However, after using it for several weeks, I’m glad I took the plunge. Despite my initial hesitation, the setup was incredibly easy. The Sonos app guided me through the process step-by-step, and within minutes, the Port was connected to my home network and integrated into my existing audio system. The only downside for me is the cost. While I do believe you’re getting a premium product, the Sonos Port is on the expensive side for a streaming device. The only downside for me is the cost. Sonos "Port"

The Sonos "Port" works as it should. You simply connect your device by way of the RCA jacks and follow the set-up directions on your phone. We are using this on a commercial jukebox in a "Bar and Grill" environment. The sound quality from the jukebox was less than satisfactory and when playing through the Sonos system, it sounds fantastic. My customers have really noticed the difference and jukebox revenue has gone up. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is at times, The Port is "slow" to stop the existing music that is playing through IHeart Radio or Sirius XM. It's supposed to do that as soon as it detects the juke box has been played. Consequently we have 2 different songs playing at the same time, but only for a few seconds. The other problem we encountered is lag time. The jukebox still sends the sound signal to it's own speakers in addition to the Sonos system. At times, there is a bit of lag time creating an annoying "echo." Sometimes it will sync up and sometimes it won't. Maybe if Sonos Tech Support sees this, they can give me some hints. By the way, Sonos Tech Support is amazing on previous problems I've encountered with my 3 total systems I have. Been on vacation the last couple of weeks, so haven't had time to present this problem to them!!

Sonos is the best brand for Media Player. The Port is very easy to set up like all Sonos products and the price is justified by its sound and extra features. Incredibly easy to use and straightforward. In my opinion Sonos products are worth the price. It's pandemic time and I treated myself to an extravagance.

This is one of those awkward products that is hard to rate. If price is ignored, it works great. It allows me to use my very nice primary audio system in a whole-home audio setup using other Sonos devices. Easy to use with the standard array of Sonos audio sources.
But the price is really exorbitant for what it does. It clearly seems priced as a way to dissuade people from using their own speakers and encouraging them to use official Sonos speakers. Or, perhaps Sonos recognizes that people who have sunk thousands into nice speaker systems will spend the premium to be able to use those setups.

Thank you for your feedback about the Sonos Port! We designed this product to add value to the Sonos system by adding your existing equipment to the multiroom system that is Sonos. The Port also will continue to receive updates that add functionality to the Sonos system which then means that it makes the connected equipment that much more useful!

Now that I've lived with the Sonos Port for a few months, I can tell you that it lives up to its reputation. It's compatible with everything, it's very easy to use, and the app is extremely reliable. My only suggestion is to have a professional handle the setup. Yes, you can do it yourself but...this really isn't a DIY product.

have owned the Port for about a month now and use it to stream music to my Den/Outdoor Speakers which are driven by a dedicated amp.
Set-Up was easy and integrated immediately with my existing Sonos speaker. Controlling the speaker with Sonos app is also extremely easy, allowing you to group speakers on the fly to take your music with you as you move.
I use the Sonos Port/Speaker with Alexa and integration there works fine, though it is still missing the ability to set-up Sonos speakers within the Alexa app. Specifically this means you cannot group Sonos speakers with existing Alexa speakers.
While the Port is not the cheapest network player, I'm satisfied with the quality of the product and the integration in the Sonos environment. It is a nice addition and adds your existing speakers/amp into the Sonos group.
