I didn't plan on buying a sound bar but it was on sale with the superbowl package so I went for it. Best decision I could have made. Watching movies makes it like your in the theatre with the clear sound and subwoofer. This is a must have now that I own one. Bluetooth connecting from my phone so I can play music sometimes a little too loud calls for a good weekend. I mounted it 2" below the tv and hid all wires with ease. I had to install a receptacle to do so but thats easy. Thumbs up here!!!

This Sony soubdbar provides much more rich and deep high fidelity sound versus standard flat panel HDTV's. I Purchased this with my 65 inch Sony X900E and it makes a big difference when the soundbar is on. However, where I really notice the difference is loading apps like Google play music via the TV app and playing music from my library with the subwoofer turned all the way up to 12 (usually keep it around 9 or 10 and it's plenty of bass) and the volume of the soundbar around 30. The sound is incredible and doesn't distort. The subwoofer provides incredible deep bass throughout most of my house (Two story & 4,300 Sq ft). The soundbar isn't as good when listening to cable TV at the same settings as music from the Google Play app via the TV (even with an expensive HDMI cable connected). The sound is still nice and the subwoofer still provides quite a bit more bass than just the TV speakers, it's just not nearly as powerful and crisp as music playing through the TV via apps like Google play music. This is where the soundbar and subwoofer really come alive and provide an insane amount of thumping crisp bass without distortion even with volume levels of the soundbar in the 50's and the subwoofer volume all the way up at 12. Great for parties and watching movies! Highly recommend this product!

We were looking for a surround sound and actually stumbled on this wireless blue tooth sound bar with subwoofer. The sound is great and the price was reasonable.

Because I have a small living area, I decided to splurge on a quality Sony sound bar system to match my new 50" Sony Flat panel TV and forego a stereo system. (The sound bar cost more than the TV!) I'm able to pair my iPhone's music with the sound bar's bluetooth feature and it rocks! The sound bar also has different sound settings (TV, music, movie, sport, etc.) to enhance whatever I'm watching. I'm not a techie, so it was worth buying both Sony TV and sound bar for ease of set up and use. Apple TV also works seamlessly. TIP: Because the wall-mounted TV had to go above a 30" tall credenza, I installed the sound bar above the TV to view it at eye level. Works just fine even with an 8' ceiling. The woofer sits on the wood floor next to the credenza. Plan on getting another woofer in the future.

Purchased this as a replacement for a full surround system .If dialogue and music matter for you during movies , then this sound bar is for you.Easy set up and the option for surround speakers using the optional zr5 Bluetooth speakers make this system a great space saving alternative to a full surround system ..

I bought this item open box for half price. At that cost, an excellent value. Good bass and high end response but lacks a bit in the middle. Haven't found a setting that maximizes separation. I suspect adding wireless surround speakers, which are available for 5.1 but pricey, would give this setup a big boost for home theater.
Still, very clean for music reproduction and overall tv sound with presets by genre. A leader in the competitive soundbar world but look for deep discount.

5 pro's 1 con
1. Great for streaming music especially if you have Android phone, everything will stream using LDAC.
2. Chromecast built in is great
3. Supports Hi Res audio
4. Great remote and user interface that Samsung's soundbars do not support.
5. Best looking sound bar especially when mounted.
Con
1. Bass could be a little heavier epically for being rated at a total of 400w

This is a big improvement over the tvs original sound and since we only paid $400 for it (after $200 sale discount and Sony discount of another $200 when bought with tv) it was a good bargain. I figure we would have to spend at least $1500 for a full sound system to have noticeably better sound. The problem with this unit is that the use of HDMI to connect and control it is not ready for prime time. It did not work at all with my new Sony Ultra HD tv even though the pro installers did everything they could think of to get it to work. Once they changed the sound cable to an optical cable it worked fine but I lost some functions that I should have according to Sony. The sound is excellent though since the optical cable carries as much info as the HDMI but in only one direction. Anyway, the subwoofer is excellent and the tweeters OK and the overall sound is as good as I need for tv shows and movies. Not so great for just playing music though I am comparing to my $5000 stereo system which is hardly a fair comparison.

Works very well, but I’d like a little more volume. We paired with Sony Bluetooth speakers for surround. This works well and if you want you can use the speakers separately for your phone, etc The regular price for all this is $1200. You need to watch for deals. we got ours for $900.

The sound quality of this soundbar is nice, and it was very easy to set up (especially with a Sony TV); however, it is so tall that the bar blocks the sensor on the TV and it is sometimes difficult to get the signal to the television. I'm not sure why Sony would design a product that wouldn't work perfectly with their television, but they did. And, it is annoying.
There is a setting on the soundbar so it supposedly sends the signal from behind the bar to the TV, but it didn't work very well. I was constantly having to press buttons more than once to get any function to work.
I ended up returning it, and got a receiver to use with my speakers instead.

I had done some research before I bought the HTNT5; therefore, I knew what to expect. It's a good product, though not the best. Sound wise, it's decent, but not the best. I decided to buy it because of the above average reviews and it is not to difficult to set up since I have a tv, Blu-ray and playstation 4 and they are all sony. they pretty much synced by themselves.
I just had to read the part "Using the Various Functions/Settings" since the sound bar block the tv remote signal and making sure the subwoofer is linked and some info about standby, etc.

Very pleased with the sound quality from this sound bar. It was also easy to connect with the TV using the optical cable. The various options configurable from the remote can be confusing, but once you pick the right mode, there is little need to change it unless you are using the sound bar for both the TV and remotely playing music from an Android or IOS device.

Great product for the price, especially when paired with the SRS-ZR5 surround speakers. Sub woofer is the only reason it doesn't receive 5 stars. It does the job, just lacks a bit of punch. All in all, 100% satisfied.

I must admit that I was not a big fan of soundbars, until I purchased this one. I bought the accompanying TV for use in the master bedroom and need upgraded sound that was discreet. You can't really judge how something like this will sound until you have it at home in the listening environment. This soundbar ROCKS! I am amazed at the quality of highs and the realistic voices that come from this little dude. The subwoofer is adequate for a medium sized room. The bedroom is around 16' square and this thing fills it up with room to spare! Pairs well with wireless surround speakers for awesome movie nights. I have zero complaints and highly recommend!!!

Crank up the sound on this soundbar and your TV watching never sounded better. Crisp, beautifully rendered sound. The subwoofer never sounds boomy over overbearing ... just a rich, full sound. It matches my TV stand exactly and the setup was fairly easy. I've just had one problem, and it has to do with my HDMI "ARC" setup .. if I switch my smart-TV (an LG OLED) to Netflix and then back, the input on the Sony soundbar switches to USB and I've gotta flip it back. I've gotten so used to it that I don't care anymore. To sum up, this sound bar is a HUGE upgrade over the cheap Vizio soundbar I used to have.

I bought this sound bar when I purchased my Sony XBR55X900E tv, as it was a package deal.
First, let me say that the sound is excellent. I'm really not a sound person, but to my untrained ear, it really puts out quite a crisp, clear sound.
Second, it is very easy to setup, especially if you're pairing it with a Sony tv. I simply answered a few on screen questions and I was up and running. A few weeks later I also purchased two separate Sony speakers for surround sound, and again, it was quite easy to set up.
My only gripe with this sound bar is that it's billed as 4K pass through, but that's not always the case. My PS4 Pro won't output in upscaled 4K when I run it through the sound bar. I have to plug it directly into my tv to activate the PS4 Pro 4K capabilities. I even called Sony support to make sure I wasn't missing anything when connecting the PS4 Pro, and the person helping me said that I had to plug it directly into the tv.
Overall, a very good sound bar but I'm not sure I believe that all hdmi ports are indeed 4K pass through capable.

I love that this sound bar fired the sound up. This really helps the sound envelope you as you watch pretty much anything. Hooking it up vie ARC is definitely the way to go. The on screen menu on the TV is really nice. The grilled is magnetically attached so it can be removed is that is more your style, although I find it makes the center of the sound bar look really barren. The sound is excellent, and there is a noticeable difference when you switch between the presets. If you use ARC then your TV remote can control all the necessary functions of the sound bar which is really nice.
The fact that it also has 3 HDMI inputs is awesome. Most sound bars only have 1. Not my TV controls my sound bar, and my blu ray player all through one port which is really cool. I would highly highly recommend this speaker to anybody that is in the market.
The flat design also allows them to put in larger drives without blocking the TV screen which makes a noticeable difference compared to competitors models.
