My living room is fairly long and while I love the 75" Sony TV, it seemed too far away as far as the sound went. With the addition of the Sony wireless soundbar system, it all comes together---audio and visual, to make TV watching a delight. Great addition to the TV experience and a great buy!

When searching for a soundbar based surround sound system, I never would have even thought about spending over $500 (let alone $599) so it was just luck this system showed up in my search. But luck was with me that day. This thing has everything I wanted. I'll pro and con the rest of this review.
Pros:
1. It was delivered in a really big and cool looking box. I may not have been looking for that but I liked it. Labeling all of its features and being big just made it feel impressive from the start.
2. Set up was super easy. My 65" Samsung Curve 4K TV has multiple HDMI inputs and since 1 of them is labeled (ARC) I used that one for the input and didn't need a separate audio line. The soundbar has 3 HDMI inputs so I just took the cable box, XBOX ONE S, and PS4 HDMI cables and put them in the soundbar. The Subwoofer and rear speakers just needed an electrical outlet. Once all plugged in I turned on the soundbar and they all connected. There's even a microphone to let it automatically calibrate the speakers and it worked perfectly.
3. It's Bluetooth enabled. Connecting to my phone was easy (like all things Bluetooth) and works great.
4. It's Wi-FI enabled. I was hoping this meant my Google Home would connect to this thing. It does and is probably my favorite feature. I opened the Google Home app and went to "devices" and there was the new surround system. I connected to it and was able to rename it from its given name (HTRT5 is hard to say) to the much more clever name of "Receiver". Now my life is sitting on the couch and saying "Hey Google, cast System of a Down" and get a response of "OK, playing System of a Down from YouTube on Receiver". The receiver wakes up and starts playing. (Of course, depending on who is over, this might be "Ok, Google - Cast Disney songs from Pandora" which works equally well.)
5. It's cool looking. I like the design, the color, the digital display that shows what setting/input is being used. No complaints there.
6. The sound is very good. The system knows it's limitations and at max power I don't get distortion. I've been a "separate receiver and huge subwoofers" kind of guy most of my life and, although this may not be rattling mirrors off the walls, this sounds great. (I just upgraded it from 'very good' to 'great'. I'll probably use "awesome" later.). There are also some cool sound settings. One of which is "Football". I tried it during a recent NFL game and has a stadium feel with a lot of ambient crowd noise from the satellite speakers. It actually sounded really cool and I thought might be real noise somehow but after hearing the same noise during the commercials, I realize it's canned. This could have been a 'con' but I actually like the feature and it does work well while watching the game. The final audio related point I'd like to make is the remote allows separate control of the subwoofer. Although I can't imagine not having that feature, I want to point out it's there and is really helpful.
7. It comes with attachments if you prefer to hang the soundbar on the wall.
Cons
1. It doesn't come with the wall screws to attach the soundbar or rear speakers to the walls. But really, wgas, right? Certainly you have some screws around or like going to Home Depot anyway.
2. This *could* be a con if you're unaware - delivery requires a signature. I didn't know that but was excited to get the shipment so made sure to be home anyway and it worked out. But had I come home to a note on my door I would have been...ummm.. upset.
Anyway, I realize these are not real cons but I don't think it's worth getting into some of the overly technical aspects that some might find annoying since I'm sure there are things about the ratios and frequencies that I don't understand that could be better. But let's bottom line it - the thing sounds awesome (see? it keeps getting better), looks cool, is feature rich (finding a soundbar to connect to Google Home isn't easy/cheap) and the price was right.

I have the HT-RT5 hooked up with my xbox one s and the LG 55" OLED curved tv. When using the HT-RT5 make sure to get it online and having the system updated to fix some bugs in the soundbar. I used the easy setup tool to calibrate speakers, then I tweaked them some more for the perfect sound in speaker settings. This sound system sounds truly amazing!! I was very impressed and glad I was able to snag it from the deal of the day for $250

I purchased this because it was on sale. I was a little apprehensive after reading the reviews. Some of them were negative, like not having enough volume and poor features. After setting up my system, I've got to say, I don't understand ANY of the negative reviews. This system sounds amazing and the features are fantastic. I'm running this with a Sony Bravia TV and my iPhone. It connects to everything seamlessly with no issues. I love the Google Cast play that plays music directly from my Pandora from my phone. Setup was super easy and it is SO NICE to have wireless satellite speakers. I was also able to connect my Sony MDR950 headphones to the system. This is a great surround sound system and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for one.

At the 600 price point I would say go get a real surround sound system (receiver, speakers, sub, etc.) but at the daily deal I got it for 249 and I don't believe you can find a better deal.
I love the auto-on when the TV turns on, auto-change input, and the controller. Sound wise highs are crisp and lows and precise, 10/10. 550 watts is plenty to rock a small to medium living-room.
Got it connected to my Sony TV and the bravia sync works like a charm
Overall this thing is amazing. Totally recommend!

I was looking for a great sound bar but wasn't looking to pay a ton of money. At the price of $279.00 when it retails at $699.00 this was something I wanted to look into. So the sound on this item I was very pleased with the high and lows of the mid ranges was pretty descent. The Bluetooth option a long with Wi-Fi connection also with 4 H.D.M.I hookups made this sound bar a a choice I was willing to make. It was very easy to install and the software programing is very user friendly.

The sound is pretty good. The interface is user friendly. The subwoofer has plenty base and fill ups a large room. I have it set at 10 and it goes up to 12 but then I am using it in a very large room and have to sometimes even lower it. My only problem with this set is when using it with Apple TV. The sound does not get very loud. I almost always have it maxed out on most of the movies on Netflix and still have a hard time understanding words. But I am sure that's Apple TV's fault since everything else gets plenty loud and clear. I bought it as a "Deal of the Day" for $250. If you can get it for that price you have scored big!!!

The satellite speakers are wireless. Easy setup. Just plug the system in (I'm using ARC). Plug in the microphone and put it where you sit, I put it in the center of the room. It will auto calibrate and then I tweaked the sound levels from there. Sound is awesome.

Before you complain about anything, remember the price you paid. If you like me picked this bad boy up on a deal of the day special for 250-299 you got a great feature rich system for a bargain price. Now if you paid the regular price of 599 or more then you are allowed to vent some frustration. At that 600 price there are other options, but at 300..? Nothing compares.
Pros I like
HDMI pass through
Wireless rear speakers
Wireless subwoofer
2.2 4k pass through
Detailed on screen settings
Great bass
Clear highs
At 279 bucks I'm thrilled with the peak sound
Stylish
Cons
No customizing input names
At 600 bucks I would be disappointed with the peak sound
No streaming capabilities ( it has sonys usual OS, so I don't see why they nEver added it. Maybe an update ?)
In the end I would recommend it at a 400 dollar or lower sale price.

I setup this system in my bedroom and it does an awesome job. If your not a audiophile and are not too nit picky but just want great sound, this definitely does a better job then just a 2.1 or 3.1 system. This system has more features that you can imagine but i am only using it for the audio portion. Do not have it connected to my WIFI or connected to any Bluetooth devices even though you could. I have an apple TV hooked up to it so only use it for sound. But if you didn't have anything like an apple tv or chromecast, this system may be a good buy. I got this on a daily special so only got it for $250 and it is worth every penny.

It's sounds really nice. I have connected it to my Xbox one. Don't go with auto Calibration change the configuration manually. I wanted to buy Yamaha receiver with 5.1 speakers system, but installing would have been very costly as I wanted the wires concealed behind dry wall. Wireless was the way to go for me and brought this in black Friday deal. I am satisfied with my choice and I saved some money

I purchased this soundbar as DOTD $250.00 Well worth the price. I read reviews before purchasing, mostly negative about sound volume. I decided to give it a chance anyway as I love Sony products. I have two Sony televisions and could not be happier. If you adjust the audio settings properly (including distance settings) the volume from the front and rear speakers will blow you away! At this price, it's a steal. I would definitely purchase again.

I had been using a Kenwood 5.1 surround sound system for the past 15+ years before getting this Sony system. I am not a 'sound expert' but the quality is pretty good from these wireless speakers. Honestly, the list price of $600 seems a bit steep when compared to other surround systems out there but I think you are paying for the Sony brand. I got it for $250 as a 'deal of the day' and it is definitely worth that price. As other have stated, do not use the 'auto calibration' since it doesnt seem to set it at the loudest setting and instead set up it up manually in the setting menu to get a more refined/louder sound.

This surround sound was easy to set up, but it did take a long time to perfect the sound coming from the TV. I found that using the sound effect "music arena" gave a good quality sound for my TV. Initially, the sound was very low from my TV until I changed it to this setting.

Fair price, easy set-up with good instructions and good sound once you adjust the volume of all speakers for your setting. Purchased the unit for $299, the product's price dropped to $249 a few weeks later. I learned once you have purchased a product with gift cards or rewards, you cannot receive a price difference with Best Buy's policy.

This isn't high end, but for the $300 price tag it's definetly adequate. I wanted the "wireless" set up, so I was fine with it not being at a high end wireless price. Not worth the regular price of $600, but $300 is just right
