Bravia Masters Series Is An Unbeatable Value

After 11 years with a Sony Bravia from Best Buy that never failed me once, provided superior picture quality, and which didn't even look dated... I decided to upgrade to this 2019 model. FYI - I donated the old Bravia to Goodwill and they were shocked at how new it looked.
I'll start with the one caveat you should be aware of: It's missing the latest hdmi 2.1 compatibility which I was aware of when I purchased it. I honestly don't think it matters. This is one of the only 55 inch tvs with a 120hz refresh rate (240 motion rate) out there and the Sony X1 processor is blazing fast which I'm confident makes the picture quality incredible.
It's designed to have accurate color to the specs of the entertainment industry that puts out content and it shows (that's why it is the Masters series).
On black Friday I picked it up for around $1600 plus tax. It was a steal.
Beyond the smooth refresh rate which really sets it apart and the obvious superiority of OLED especially with black contrast .. the sound will stun you....
There is a reason that the provided stand doesn't lift the tv screen more than a centimeter off the tv cabinet. It does not need a sound bar at all - which most folks place below the screen. The sound on this model, however, emits from the screen itself and it is stunning. I've also used the unique option of wiring the tv into a receiver so that the tv screen sound becomes the center speaker in a 3 speaker surround system. Incredible sound. Way better than a sound bar.
The Android TV integration is flawless. Super fast and allows for google assistant voice commands. "Hey Google, turn off the tv". Simple command but SO useful.
And this tv is thin. I mean super thin.
So far im extremely satisfied with my purchase just like I was 11 years ago when I bought my last Bravia.
Now, I may have stayed loyal to the brand but I did plenty of research on other brand models. LG is an obvious option to explore considering any OLED tv starts with LG parts, even Sony. But the fit and finish of LG feels cheaper to me
Were I have waited to buy the newest tech this year, LG would be a stronger consideration due to the 2.1 hdmi tech. But Sony's X1 processor pretty much puts me at ease. It's fast and produces insane picture quality.
I couldn't upload a pic of the new tv (I think the file size is too large). But attached a pic of my 11 year old 40 inch Bravia which still looked and worked great.
From a value perspective, I'd rather have a top of the line OLED 4k 120 refresh rate Sony Bravia with top of line processing for under $2k than pay closer to 4-5k for nearly the same quality but 2.1 hdmi compatibility in 2021. There's a reason that this exact Sony model took Digital Trend's best TV honor of 2019.

This Sony is expensive! Worth every dollar in picture, set-up SmartTV applications and all.
Never had a SmartTV and this is the MACDADDY of them all. If you can't afford to buy outright then set up to make payments. First TV I have ever purchased that was worth all the hype and ratings in the magazines.
Set up by BestBuy staff was on target and training was first rate. Tech took the time to make my current wall-mount work which saved me some bucks on my package and went through all the steps to help me get internet and email all set through the TV.
Sound and picture are immaculate, crisp, sharp defining...... and any other adjective you can think of.
This was the 40th Wedding Anniversary present my wife wanted; now how could I deny her that!!!

At this very time in the Tech World there are few Companies such as Samsung, LG, Vizio for example that are producing Fine LCD TV'S. However, The Best, finest, Sharpest Picture are the OLED sets I've seen in person. Choosing between LG & Sony, I purchased Sony. Since having a Sony set for many years just figured it's time to Step up. There is room to calibrate for the best picture per your room which I managed to get set. Am Extremely Happy Especially, when I play movies on Blu -Ray. Could have got a 65" set But 55" suited me & my budget just fine and set on bracket on my wall Perfectly! In closing, YouTube, Netflix, Look Excellent as well. With Surround Sound & 8 Speakers, Everything is Enhanced for a Wonderful Rockin Experience.

I’ve own this mater television for about seven months & it’s a joy. I purchased this television for sound & color quality which I gotten . I rate sound an 8/10. Sony Dolby audio actually minimizes the volume audio sound and gives more depth sound. As for color , I would rate 10/10. Colors are so bright & especially black at night. Though in daylight you can see shades reflections, so owning this television like all the other reviews may have it in a tight corner that is dark as far away from the light. I have not owned this television yet for a year so can’t rate it the long lasting review. Thank you Sony for the experience.

I’ve been reviewing and comparison shopping for over a year and came to the conclusion that this was the best TV experience out there. Si, when the price was reduced I finally had no excuse to keep looking. I decided on the Sony Bravia A9G Master series and was not disappointed. The TV had as great a picture at home as it did in the showroom, which was one of my concerns. Now, finally great details for football games, as well as, movies with that theatre experience. The purchasing experience was incredible as well, due to the very knowledgeable and friendly staff at Best Buy!!!

This is an outstanding product and I am happy to have been able to buy it open box (only the box was open the rest was immaculate) at a really great price. The OLED provides you with a rich blacks that makes the image standout. Just watch the Game of Thrones seasons and you will notice what you were missing. The adnroid system is really good for the new generation of TV watching is so simple to use and to access the apps. The sound is great with this TV, BUT if you going to buy this model you should make yourself justice and at least buy a 5.1 soundbar you won't regret it.

I got this Sony master series A9G for a steal of a price. Having originally bought it online for Cyber Monday. It was on a 1 time 8 hour flash sale marked down from $2299.00 to $1299.00. Plus I also got an extra $750 off this TV bc my old TV was under a BB 5 year protection plan and starting in the 3rd year the small light lines started to appear across the whole bottom of the screen. It didn't bother me until i was in the 4th year when it started to spread. I had BB come out to assess the TV & they decided they weren't going to fix it and gave me a credit of $750 to put towards a new tv and ai wound up getting the Sony A9G for like $549 plus tax & plus another $149.99 for a BB Total Tech warranty that covers not only the TV but it also covers all my devices. So in the end i did really well and as a matter of fact none of the salesman at my local BB could evenbelueve how break i got that TV for.
As for the picture quality it's an easy 5 out of 5. It comes with full Andis OS with Google assistant built in amongst a ton of other options. I have an Nvidia Shield that I use to run everything through so tbh i don't even use the android os that comes on the TV. All in all I'm very pleased with this purchase & would recommend this TV to anyone as you don't even need a sound bar as the sound on this TV is very crisp with plenty of bass, mids, & highs.

This unit is amazing. The color is rich, deep and clear. I'm currently using a 60 mile antenna and receiving over 50 channels and that all good with me because I can always stream from my ipad. Very easy to get set up and easy to adjust from sports to movie viewing. I'm satisfied with my purchase.

We love our new Sony Class A9G Master Series 55” OLED 4K TV! We chose this manufacturer because its high rating and reasonable price point. We also preferred a center stand (most TVs have legs now) and wanted to keep the height the same as the 50” Samsung 4K we were relocating to another room. So glad we did! The high contrast and vibrant, true to life color is outstanding whether you are directly in front of the TV or viewing from an angle. Between the picture quality and our Sonos system, we feel like we are in a theater.

Having been spoiled by my approximately 10 yr. old, 43", plasma Samsung TV in the living room, I knew I had to have an OLED to replace the old CRT TV in the bedroom (my son wanted the CRT as he thinks it looks cool). I seriously considered LG until I saw this limited special after black Friday sale at BestBuy for $1249. I grabbed it. I was very lucky.
I initially had it on the stand, with is very sturdy. I then wall-mounted it over the dresser opposite the bed using a Bestbuy Essentials wall-mount-$29. I watch at night in bed so brightness isn't an issue. Actually, it is plenty bright during the day.
I was pleasantly surprised at how good the sound was-no need for a sound bar. However, since I had an old Denon 7.1 amp, I decided to set up a 3.1 sound system using two Sony Core5 left and right front speakers, wall-mounted. I incorporated the Sony's built-in center channel, which is excellent. I also placed two 8" Emotiva subwoofers. I didn't hook in surround speakers.
My only complaint is the remote control. Physically speaking, it is too long and thin and keeps falling out of my bigger than normal hands. Also, way too many buttons oddly placed. I replaced the remote with a Roku Ultra, which I love. So now I have three remotes, the Sony for some settings, the Denon for turning on the receiver plus volume, and the Roku for everything else.
In summary, watching StarTrek Enterprise reruns with this TV and this sound system is a whole new experience. I couldn't be happier.
