It does seem to pick up glare more easily than our previous TV, but does well in a darker room.

I was looking for another tv but not in stock. Checked out this Sony on Consumer Report and it was highly rated especially dependability so I pulled the trigger and I'm glad I did. Great picture and colors are very, very good. I highly recommend this television.

I purchased this one back in August of 2021 and it's been great. Now it's got all the software updates pushed out by Sony for vrr and allm. When you hook it up to your PS5 you can go into the video settings and it'll automatically set everything to optimal picture quality for you very easy setup. As with most TVs the standard speakers are just average but who uses those anyways when you have a good set of headphones or soundbar or home theater surround system hooked up to it. I highly recommend this TV.

After using it for six months, one prominent issue I encountered was the occasional delay when navigating between different apps. Let's start with the positives. The picture quality of the X90J series is truly remarkable. The 4K UHD display delivers vibrant colors, excellent contrast, and sharp details, resulting in a captivating viewing experience. Whether I was watching movies, playing video games, or streaming content, the visuals were consistently stunning. The HDR capability further enhances the picture quality, offering deep blacks and dazzling highlights. The smart features of this TV are another strong point. Powered by Google TV, it provides a user-friendly interface that integrates various streaming platforms seamlessly. The access to a wide range of apps, including popular ones like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and YouTube, makes it easy to find and enjoy my favorite content. The voice search functionality is a handy addition, allowing me to quickly find shows or movies by simply using my voice. However, one drawback that has been frustrating at times is the delay in app navigation. Occasionally, when switching from one app to another, there is a noticeable lag in responsiveness. While it may not happen every time, it can be a bit inconvenient, especially when I'm in a hurry or want to quickly switch between different sources of entertainment. This delay can interrupt the overall smooth user experience that this TV otherwise offers. Aside from the navigation delay, another minor gripe I have is the remote control. Sony Bravia FTW!

I was debating between a Samsung QLED and the Sony Bravia and I opted for the Bravia at the last minute. The Local Dimming on how it handle darks is what pulled me in as the closest thing I can get to OLED without breaking the bank. The Google TV and the streaming apps are great features, sports look great on it and it does a magnificent job on handling games on the PS5. I'm glad I went with the Bravia and I hope that this will be a part of the household for years to come!

Almost perfect

The viewing angle is not that great if you're viewing it at a really side angle, but I'm usually viewing it from the front straight on so it doesn't affect me. Built in Google TV is a good convenience and the Bravia Core app which is a Sony TV exclusive stream movies at the highest bitrate you can get compared to HBOMax, Disney+, etc. But an annoying issues is when I plugged in my LG soundbar everytime I turn on the TV it constantly switching from TV audio to soundbar audio. It's annoying because I'm constantly having to switch to my soundbar for like 5mins. I recommend a Sony compatible soundbar if you're going to use a soundbar with this tv.

Got it for my bedroom solely for watching movies in 4K-HDR & Dolby Vision. I watch a lot of physical discs like Joker, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The Dark Knight, Aquaman, and Tenet and it looks crisp and terrific! I did adjust some settings like the Black Levels. The TV does not have the crisp, inky blacks compared to like expensive LG OLED TVs but it’s still really good with the Dolby Vision. I also stream some movies on my Apple TV 4K 2021 and it still looks good. HDMI 3 & 4 support Dolby Vision at 120 Hz and I use them for my soundbar, Sony UBP-X700 blu-ray player , and Apple TV. Love this Tv!

Geek Squad Kelly was able to make sure the delivery and installation by Max and Ricardo would still be April 30. Sony - 55" Class BRAVIA XR X90J has so many more features than my 10 year old Samsung SmartTV also from Best Buy. Plus I purchased the Sony -UBP-X800M2 - Streaming 4K Ultra HD Hi-Res Audio Wi-Fi Built-In Blu-Ray Player - Black Model: UBPX800M2 SKU: 6336494 to compliment my new Sony TV. Got my first 4K Blu-ray movie Ex Machina Includes Digital Copy 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray 2015 SKU: 5883871 that looks great on the screen. Also for broadcast channels I got TERK - Indoor Flat Amplified HDTV Antenna - Black. The Rocketfish Full Motion Wall Mount from Best Buy tops it all off. My second entertainment home theater is now in my living room. The first with the Samsung is in my bedroom. Go Best Buy!

You can change the picture to different modes very easily. The remote is nice too! It picks up voice commands easy. It’s fast too. The tv itself is a good size for my living room. Price is a little expensive but the brand is very popular and the features are high quality. Definitely recommend. The picture is taken at night in cinema mode and vivid mode. As you see the picture is very clear even with the lights off.

Controller is great with quick launches to popular apps for streaming and an app button to get you to the other apps just as fast and with the google assistant makes everything work smoothly picture quality is awesome with contrast colors. Only thing I don’t like is some apps the sounds is either louder or quieter I don’t know if that’s the app or the tv.

Beautiful picture and very good sound without a sound bar. We have not had the opportunity to try all of the features such as downloading of APPS. Time will tell. Didn't want to spend $3K+ on high end OLED for now. This is best Sony choice; didn't want generic/department store 4K tv either. Outstanding picture quality; sound is great using the built in wall speakers. Spouse often uses wireless earbuds while streaming shows. The voice activated remote is nice too. I like not having movies blaring while I'm in another room. So far, very happy with Sony Bravia upgrade from 2007. Best Buy (BB) installation is a must buy. BB Installers cut through all the tech nonsense that'd take us hours to configure, and had new cables in truck "just in case"--yes, needed newer version. Always get extra warranty on electronics. A superb Black Friday purchase--delivery only 9 days later. Also an excellent way to reach out to customers in these "at home" times. Well done (so far).

Going to return as soon as I get a chance to go to the story. Pros: * Google TV setup is still the best in the business. Really easy to do. * VRR and solid gaming features after the most recent updates. Cons: * Brightness is just okay. Don't want to put this by a window or use in an overly bright room. * Reflection handling is quite poor. Another problem in a room with any windows. * Off-axis viewing skews colors badly.

This is usually not the case for our TVs nor the experience we want you to have.
There are various settings that you can configure in [Picture] settings to reduce the glare/reflection and increase the brightness and contrast level to improve the viewing experience on your Google TV. With regards to the dead pixels, what you may be seeing is one or more of the greater than 2,000,000 dots that make up the composition of your LCD or OLED screen. These dots (also known as pixels) may appear red, green, blue, white or black.
High-precision technology is used to manufacture LCD and OLED displays to maintain a high standard of operation. However, with all LCD/OLED screens, regardless of manufacturer, there may be a small number of dots that do not change color. This is normal operation for LCD and OLED screens for all manufacturers. Most defects are only noticeable when an all-white or all-black picture is displayed and shouldn't be noticeable under normal operation.
Because a defective pixel or pixels is normal on all LCD or OLED screens, there's a high chance that a replacement screen may also have them. It's possible that the replacement could have more defective pixels or the pixels may appear in a more noticeable position.
Notes:
Debris on the screen can appear as dead or defective pixels. Clean the screen thoroughly with a soft, dry cloth to confirm whether or not the issue is actually a defective pixel or due to just dirt or debris.
Sometimes dead or defective pixels correct themselves over time.
