I've bought Vizio TVs for the past few years but after seeing how bad the Smartcast app UI was, I decided to go a different route, especially with this TV offering the 120hz @ 4K (firmware update just got pushed to my tv 10/20) and the other features I was hoping to have for future proofing for the new consoles. The Sony UI for their apps and settings is buttery smooth and is lightning fast, I was surprised of how fast the menus are from switching from a Vizio. This picture is gorgeous and I am definitely glad I switched to a Sony.

This tv is absolutely amazing. This is the nicest tv I have ever owned. The 120 hz is fantastic. HDR is kinda weak on it but what you get in return more than makes up for it. I really wish I had a ps5 to pair it with to see it in its full potential but I can use the Xbox one x at 120 hz at 1080p and I gotta say it’s super smooth and responsive. But honestly the best thing about this tv is watching certain old movies like Batman Returns. The reason why I say this is because the camera that they used to film that movie was way advanced for its time and the 120 hz transforms the movie into a very crisp and fluid film. I dare you to try it. The movie is on HBO max.

This tv is amazing. Crystal clear picture with amazing definition! The remote controls my tv, cable box, and Sonos sound system easily and setup was a breeze right out of the box. I have only bought Samsung tv’s for the last 15 years, but this blows them right out of the water. I even got the Apple TV app and several others right on the tv so I no longer need the Apple TV box. EARC works perfectly and I am getting atmos with no issues! Cant wait to replace my other TVs throughout the house with Sony.

Hardcore Gamer here : I returned my faulty 65" Hisense H9G (See My H9G Review) for this badboy and I'm glad I did. This thing was built for console gaming. Absolutely 100% better and Satisfied thoroughly. Hope it lasts, but with Sony's track record and my past Sony product ownerships I think I'm good to go for the long run. If you are wanting a TV for the Next Generation Consoles and don't want to chance OLED burn in then this is your tv. Good Luck out there Gamers!

This is an outstanding well balanced TV. I needed a family TV for the loft. Certainly I was looking at OLED’s. I did not want to take the burn in risk from OLEDs. After all, family TV are abused. They are left on. They are subject to all content gaming, cable, streaming and whatever. The Sony does it all. Great picture with easy Android apps. I purchased 2 TV in the last week : Sony 900h and a TCL 6 series. Surprisingly the TCL has the better picture. However the Sony is more feature rich. HDMI 2.1 more apps more picture settings. For our use case we are extremely happy with the Sony

Bought this TV to pair with my Playstation 5. The quality of the TV is incredible. The blacks are deep and the colors pop off the screen. The smart features are what you would expect from a TV of this quality - everything you would want is there. I also like the synergy between the sony products. I can turn on my PS5 and my TV will also turn on and change inputs. (A hidden feature that I didn't know about: The Sony TV remote can control the PS5 UI - which makes for easy scrolling to Netflix or Disney+ ) Would and will recommend to friends and family.

I upgraded from a Sony 1080p tv about a week ago, and I was and continue to be blown away by the picture while streaming movies and tv as well as playing games at 4K/60 fps, which is to say nothing of the 4K/120 fps capabilities this tv should hopefully soon have. I have always loved Sony products and continue to get their products whenever feasible. However, if they have misled their consumers and never end up offering VRR for this tv, never mind the reason why they might not be able to, when myself and many others I’m sure took this tv having VRR into careful consideration before spending $1,000+ on this tv. So I really hope Sony confirms again and more forcefully that this tv can and will support native 4K/120fps, VRR, and ALLM. Those are the only reasons I was willing to overlook the overall subpar HDR10 quality (get HDR10+ with everything else if you can afford it) and got this tv. The 4K/120 fps capability is still broken and has been a disaster thus far, and still no official word on VRR or ALLM. Although they have released the eARC capability, which gives me a little hope. But if they messed up and thought this tv could do things that it can’t, then I hope they make it right somehow and start being more forthright about the issues this tv is having. Happy holidays all!

Great picture! Impressed by the natural looking colors. Looks close to what coloring you would see if you were standing there yourself. Easy to set up and navigate through the apps. Like the look of the thin bezel.
Some issues with sound, had to keep adjusting the volume in quiet scenes as you couldn't hear. Someone gave us a sound bar and that helped greatly. Would have given it 5 stars if it wasn't for the sound issue.
Overall impressed with the Sony picture. Replaced our 10 year old Vizio that still works fine but it wasn't a smart tv. Hoping this one will last 10 years.

This is a great TV so far. Setup was easy and using my google account and android settings. Stand assembly was quick and straightforward.
-First impression of the picture and sound were excellent. Contrast was great with plenty of brightness. I noticed slight shadowing in the corners, but only because I was looking for it. Sound quality is much better than previous televisions I have owned. Would have been happier is the 55" came with separate tweeters like larger models, but honestly I don't know if I could tell the difference. Android TV had almost no hesitation with Apps like Netflix and Disney+. It was simple to pair with Sony WH-700N Bluetooth Headphones (A2DP compatible). Communication with PS4 was seamless and adapted picture for COD-MW was amazing.
-My only negative after several days of use was that I was able to cast Youtube from my phone to the television on first couple days, but had an error the last time I tried. I am still troubleshooting that issue.
-I am still playing with all the options, but so far I love this TV and glad I waited for this model.

This is a great TV. No, it's not an LG CX, but it's also like half the price. This is absolutely the best TV you can get in its price range, and is widely recognized as one of the top ~3 in general regardless of price. It is unfortunate that we're still waiting for a few features (like VRR) to come via an update, but they'll come.
I bought this to go alongside my PS5 and it's been incredible. I have no issues. There are things I wish were better, sure -- the zoned backlight is great, but I wish there were more zones. Any backlight test will have areas of the screen very obviously lighting up, but it's still infinitely better than having just one.
This TV is sort of the definition of the phrase in the title - "jack of all trades, master of none" -- it has every feature and does everything, and does it very well; it's just not the *absolute best* at any of them.
I would still highly suggest it. If you're a person that wants the absolute best their money can buy I would suggest the LG CX, or one of the (literally brand new) micro-LED (or whatever it's called) screens from Samsung, which are amazing - and expensive - and can actually compete with OLED. With the LG CX, though, you also have concerns - burn in, peak brightness, etc. If you really, really want a perfect TV I'd wait and get the micro LED. If you want what's considered the best TV right now, get the LG CX. If you want an absolutely great TV that will do literally everything you want and is still solid as hell for around a grand, get this one. For sure.
Keep in mind, I settled on this TV after going through 5 different models, including Hisense, TLC, Samsung, and two others. I'm saying some negatives just to be fair, but I promise, I really love the TV.

Great TV. Fast and simple to use. Having used Samsung for years it was an adjustment at first. Then I realized that Sony is cinematic. Samsung is just bright over saturated colors. Super glad I bought this. It really is a beautiful picture. Reflections are handled very well. I live in Arizona so the sun is always an issue. It gets plenty bright. Dolby Vision is supported which is a plus, and my PS5 works flawlessly on it as well. Nothing negative to say at all. Overall great TV

I was going back and forth and multiple televisions when I was shopping around. Ran across this one and is seriously amazing for the price you pay. I believe the only thing that could top this television is an OLED, but I don't have that kind of cash right now.
I bought this one specifically for gaming (PS5) and watching movies. Gaming on this has legit been an amazing experience. Once you setup your gaming system on via the prompt on the TV (it will ask you set up the system and connect it to the correct HDMI Port), it will automatically update the settings for the best experience. I played it before I did this and the difference is night and day.
FYI for those who were unaware like I was: While I struggled to get the best picture with movies at first (I was streaming through my ps5), I realized the television works best if you use the apps on the tv to stream as opposed to on your game system. The reason being that the television defaults the picture mode to "Game." If you stream using the apps on the television, the tv detects the quality of the film and makes a huge difference as it adjusts the picture mode. Once I did this, I was absolutely blown away.
This is my first 4k tv and while initially, I was going back and forth on whether I should drop this kind of money on a television when there are cheaper ones, I am glad I went with the X900h. Absolutely love it!

My God I didn't know a Tv could be like this. Cartoons can be a little jarring to watch because the tv is more high quality than some shows and the frame rate can look a bit funny, but I couldn't be happier otherwise. The depth of black was our main concern and it DELIVERED. Still need to mess with the sound, it can sometimes sound a bit metallically with intro tunes or with certain vocal ranges, but it adjusts quickly and is a very seldom occurrence now that we've had it for a while.

The Good
I have had this tv since July 1st. I am ready to share my thoughts with my 10,000 closest friends.
1 - Does not weight much. Compared to my 12 year old plasma this is nothing.
2 - Very Bright Whites.
3 - 1080p is better than my old plasma
4 - 4K is absolutely stunning
The Concerns
The whites on TV are almost blindingly bright. I agree with others who complain about the whites washing out and the darks being too dark. The dark scenes are problematic. Light skin actors with half their face in shadow the half in shadow cannot be seen. Dark-shin actors are completely lost in the dark almost black background. Through reading various websites I found the picture adjustments to reduce the blackness. These adjustments did give a picture with a white background, think 3TV here in Phoenix, sometimes overpowers the newscasters.
If you are wondering about the adjustments I played with the brightness and contrast until I found a happy medium. The picture is not perfect but it is close enough.
After the adjustments the light-skin actors faces in the shadows could be seen and the dark-skin actors were now visible in the picture.
Motion Blur
The motion blur is not as bad as I had read. There is still motion blur but is limited to scenes where the camera is panning a crowd of people or clouds in the sky. I think this is due to the size of the individual in the crowd versus the pixel size in the TV. If you think about a crowd of people at a football game there could be 20,000 of more in one camera shot. Now as the camera moves each pixel in the tv is having a hard time turning on and off fast enough. I noticed this also while watching a show when the camera panned the sky. The TV could not differentiate the various shades and ripples in the cloud so it appeared featureless with a pronounced blur until the camera stopped.
I HAVE NOT noticed any blur while watching football or baseball last week. The blur seems to be confined to specific scenes.
Is this a deal breaker, The answer is NO.
ARC Return Channel
This was my biggest frustration with this TV. I set up the ARC on the TV and on my Yamaha receiver per the instructions. The receiver would change the settings but the tv would not change inputs. I finally read on the Sony website that the ARC on this TV is guaranteed to work with certain models of Sony AVR's.
Is this a deal breaker. For me it is not since I found a work around, Roku 4K, that solved my problem.

Very excellent TV! Very thin bezels and clear picture. The motion handling an upscaler gives my content a nice soap opera effect. Very fast processor, and being able to control additional settings of my PlayStation 4 / 5 is a sweet bonus. My only complaints are some blooming with dark scenes, but in most cases it is barely noticeable. Could also do better with reflections. Get this if you want Supreme picture quality without having to shelve out more for an OLED.
