Upper mid range OLED king!

This is my first OLED TV. I had my eyes set on one of the upper mid range OLEDs Sony A80L, LG C3 and Samsung S90C. The Sony A80L was promised to deliver the best true to life picture, and it did not disappoint one bit! After spending a lot of time comparing the A80L and the C3 in store, I think I made the right choice. The A80L supposedly has lower peak brightness than the C3, but it delivers amazing shadow details in dark movies and tv shows. And peak brightness doesn't mean the overall brightness of the picture, but just how bright some of your highlights get, and the A80L has fantastic highlights and contrast! I would recommend this without any qualms. This is definitely not for someone who is watching dark HDR content in a bright room with lots of natural light coming in. But honestly, I don't think anyone should be watching that sort of content in a bright room, any tv would struggle to satisfy you there. For everything else, this TV will provide impeccable pictures!

Absolutely love this Sony Bravia OLED TV. The colors are so vibrant and the depth of field makes it look almost 3D. Even my beloved black and white classic movies look vibrant on this TV. And the apps! Don’t forget the apps. Now I can watch YouTube, Amazon Prime, Netflix and others all on my new Sony TV. It’s so easy to navigate the menu options. I love how the picture auto adjusts to the screen and how, most of the time, the picture extends all the way to the edge of the TV, maximizing your viewing experience. Am looking forward to enjoying this TV for many years to come. It has exceeded my expectations!

Listen ive seen almost every tech review about Sony samsung and LG. I love the colors and the fidelity from oled but the brightness and power consumption from mini Led (neo, mini, q, etc). After all my reserach i went with the Sony Bravia Oled A80L because when you put in on vivid its almost as bright as the LED models. The blacks on LG is great but it will distort your media into the darker hue as those tv’s don’t seem to understand greyscale. Its either the pixel is on or off. Sony understands that grays are important and their pictures are vibrant. Samsung tvs also look amazing however the saturation is washed out making people look lighter than they normally should be. Hands down sony bravia. They have made me. Believer in their products.

Love the TV. Had it for about 3 months now. Amazing picture. Great sound for what it is. Def happy about the purchase. The only issue I am having is that it freezes every couple days and we have to unplug it to get it to restart. Hope there is nothing wrong with it.

I have owned this tv for about a month now. This was my first OLED tv, and I was not disappointed. Without any adjustment needed, the colors were spot on. The color and clarity of the picture is amazing! I have made an effort to turn the tv off when not in use, primarily to avoid any potential risk of image “burn-in”, but I have not hesitated to watch shows with banners or news or sports. So far so good. No image retention. Only time will tell though. The sound is pleasant enough to use for most uses, but I’m sure a sound bar would have better sound quality. I’m very pleased with the google tv integration. Overall I am very pleased with this product. A+

Stunning Picture Quality with One Important Caveat

I’ve had my Sony A80L OLED for a little over a yeamonths now, and overall, I’m incredibly impressed. The picture quality is absolutely stunning—deep, inky blacks, vibrant colors, and crisp details that make everything from movies to sports look lifelike. Dolby Vision content in particular is jaw-dropping, and the motion handling is some of the best I’ve seen.
The Google TV interface is smooth and responsive, and having access to all the major streaming apps out of the box is super convenient. Sound quality is surprisingly good for a flat-screen TV, thanks to Sony’s Acoustic Surface Audio+, but I still paired it with a soundbar for that extra punch.
Gaming on this TV is also a treat. With HDMI 2.1 ports, 120Hz refresh rate, and VRR support, it pairs beautifully with my PlayStation 5. The input lag is minimal and the visuals are buttery smooth.
Now for the one downside: I’ve started to notice some very faint image retention after leaving static content on the screen for extended periods. It’s not terrible, and Sony includes settings to help prevent it, but burn-in is still a risk with OLED panels if you’re not careful.
All in all, this is an exceptional TV for movie lovers, gamers, and anyone who values top-tier picture quality. Just be mindful of leaving static images on for too long.

It was time for an upgrade, and to be in sync with my PlayStation. I decided to give Sony a chance. The picture is crisp and vibrant for movies and everyday TV watching. This TV feels like it was made for gaming. I love the immediate compatibility and customized Playstation gaming settings. In terms of glare, three windows face the screen in my home and even in daylight, there is no on-screen glare. The setup with Google OS was very smooth. I'm hoping I can commit to Sony TVs like I have with Playstation (since 1996 =))

The Remote Control With This TV Is The WORST

Pluses: Delivery service by the local staff was wonderful, TV was easy to set up and get the channels programmed. Sales staff at the store was wonderful. The picture is wonderful. The sound quality is much better than previous Bravia's I've owned.
Downside: I underestimated how much I would hate the simplified remote control supplied with this television. The lack of functionality and the need to have to use an on-screen menu to do something as simple as navigate to the previous viewed channel (QUADRUPLE the number of key selections than having a simple button on the remote) is INFURIATINGLY stupid design. Yet, the remote DOES have SIX buttons for streaming services I will NEVER EVER join! The entire remote control has 18 buttons, 30% of which I WILL NEVER USE. AND the remote has an additional 30% blank space at the bottom of the device for additional buttons the designers decided to not add. If returning this television were a simple task, I'd return it just because of the lousy remote control. Been a multiple Sony Television systems owner for more than 30 years and have never seen the company make a design decision this bad.

We’ve had our Sony 65 A80 since 12-22 and absolutely love everything about the picture so far. The upgrading of old HD TV and movies look absolutely great. Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision, IMAX Enhanced are great for watching shows that have the ability for viewing. The processer and software are fantastic for adjusting color, etc. Settings are also pretty simple to navigate. My main reason the 4 Stars is my disappointment with the sound or lack of. One of the reasons I was interested in the A80 was the Surface Audio Touch+ that was designed to enhance the audio experience and quality. It was a big deal to me. I have a Bose home theater system that includes a soundbar, wireless bass module, and wireless rear surround speakers. I specifically asked if my system would sync with the Sony Surface Audio Touch+ to make the sound better. I was told it would and it did. I used HDMI 1 to attach my Apple tv and the e Arc to connect my Bose system. I got the Bose sound system to work with the TV but when I went into the audio settings I lost the ability to adjust them for better performance. A number of the audio settings were not available for adjusting. Very Frustrating. When I reached out to check on what the problem might be I was then told that the audio settings will only sync with specific Sony soundbar devices. That’s extremely frustrating. My $2,000 Bose audio system is worthless with the A80 and the Surface Audio Touch+. I just don’t think it’s right how that works. Something that needs to be addressed at purchase with the potential buyer. Your talking about roughly $2,000 for a sound system that can work with the A80. Again, on the picture side I have no problem or regrets with the A80. But, the audio is another issue.I would highly recommend if the picture is important to you and the audio isn’t

This TV is amazing. It's picture quality is outstanding and it has the best sound quality of any large OLED I have ever heard. The picture and sound menus are easy to navigate. It up converts pictures from older TV shows and DVD'S to the best quality I have ever experienced. Some reviewers have complained about the brightness and the nit levels being inferior to Samsung and LQ. However, there is more to picture quality than just brightness. I appreciate an OLED TV that doesn’t cause severe eye strain! The gray scale is outstanding! I have owned a 55" LG C9 OLED TV and it was a great TV. This 65" Sony OLED Bravia is far superior! It's easy to view and looks great in our living room. I highly recommend this TV.

Wide angle viewing

If you're debating on whether or not to get an OLED.
This thing can be viewed without distortion from just about any angle. If you have a wide viewing area like we do then it's worth getting. Ours is mounted above the fireplace with the open concept kitchen at a 90 degree angle. We have a nice mounting on it where we can angle it to face the kitchen. But if I'm making cookies and the husband wants to relax and we want to watch battlebots together we still can with this t.v. We just give it a bit of an angle and we can both see it perfectly clearly. Of course, it's not ideal to watch a t.v. from a 45 degree angle but that's besides the point. It doesn't distort. There's no fuzzy look. So if you have a wide area to view and people on the sides complain, get the OLED.
Sound is great, I do wish the connectivity with Google was just a little bit better but that's likely a Google issue than a Sony.
Attached photo is the Max angle id view it at.

I am over Samsung tv's. This 65 a80l is so much better. Google TV is completely superior to Tizen. Having a delay when you click on something is inexcusable nowadays. Great picture on this. Sound is amazing, and I have the same sound bar from before. Sony just does it better. This isn't a high end sony or even this years, but I think its fantastic. I really don't see what they could do in the higher end ones to make them better. I also got a 60 dollar wall mount that is absurdly great for the price.

This is an absolutely phenomenal TV. Let's get the sound out of the way, it's the best sound I've ever heard coming out of a standalone television. I hooked it up to my Theater speakers and it's amazing.
The picture is stunning. Anything in 4k is mind-blowing. It's not quite as bright as the top line Sony that just came out but the picture is amazing. I generally watch YouTube TV which maxes out at 1080 DPI, mostly less than that, and the upscaling on this is the best I've seen. I used to use an nvidia box for it's great upscaling on my LG oled. This does a much better job.
Easily the best color reproduction I've ever seen on a television that I've owned and easily the best looking picture on a television that I've ever owned. I would like to see a brighter picture but I don't think it would be worth $2000 more to go with the top-level Sony just for a little brighter picture. In this price range I can't imagine a better purchase.
My photo does not do it justice.

Best Buy just knocked it out of the park with their delivery of the best OLED TV ever! Sony's OLED screen is simply unbeatable, and the sound? Absolutely incredible—it comes directly from the screen, making it far superior to any soundbar out there. It's the only TV where you won't need any extra sound system because the audio quality is that phenomenal. Scoring this during Best Buy's Labor Day sale was a steal—I couldn't be happier with the value!
