This Sony 65 in oled TV is better than the reviews I checked on before buying. With this TV you don't need a sound bar because the speakers are in the whole 65 inch screen. One half is the left speaker and that other half is the right speaker with a subwoofer in the back. The sound and the color are outstanding. I would highly recommend the Sony XBR65A1E to anyone looking for a great large screen TV. The Geek squad did a great job installing this beautiful TV in our new media wall.

LIke everyone who contemplates a purchase of this type of TV I looked at most brands and screen styles. The alphabet soup of LED's and this Sony OLED. Obviously I chose the OLED. Great picture, great sound, and easy to install. The other LED's even the Sony top end was too bright and too sharp to look real. However, my viewing is in mostly a dark/muted light room so the OLED's color and black defination worked great.

Costliest choice of OLED at this time, but superior picture compared to the LG most similar to this model, even though both are LG screens. I use Direct TV, Sonos, and a Samsung Blueray HDR w a built-in streaming hub for content, including 4K,. The instruction manual is very unhelpful. Wasn't as difficult to set up as I anticipated, but it is heavy and viewing one of the available Youtube videos on unpacking it is recommended. The slight tilt from the stand design is not an issue for viewing. The viewing angle range shows no dropoff in color accuracy or brightness as is common w LED sets. The digital audio output sends a Dolby signal so connecting to a Sonos system is easy. The Direct TV remote programs the basic TV functions easily and although the Sony TV remote programs Direct TV functions, I don't use it because it is so poorly designed. The only weaknesses of the TV are the design and implementation of the operating system and the remote. They are both a mess. The configuration of the Smart TV functions is a disincentive to use them. The TV is Direct TV ready, but the 4K content from Direct TV apparently still requires a separate freestanding 4K client and there are only 3 channels. Direct TV cannot be considered a good source for 4K content at this time. Upcoding of non-4K content is superb, and rendering of 4K content streamed from Netflix, or Blueray is amazing.

Amazing picture as can be expected from Sony. The bezel for the television is almost paper thin and makes for an amazing fit in my home theater. The blacks are so black, you can't tell where the screen ends and the room darkness starts. Just amazing.

Best display quality and sound available compared to other technology. Pleased with Best Buy's salespersons knowledge and assistance in providing information about OLED units. The Geek Squad also arrived on schedule performing a great job installing and explaining all the features on my Sony. Thanks to all at Best Buy!

This tv is awesome. The black levels are phenomenal. Colors are great. I loved this tv so much I bought a 55 inch as well. The tv stand is great as well. Some reviewers say they don’t like the tv is on a slight angle when u use the stand, but you won’t even notice it after a few hours of watching tv. Great tv !!!!

The assistance that I received from your personal at the store was exceptional. They spent a great deal of time going over the various TVs. Without their help it would’ve been a very difficult task in order to get the best TV for our use. We love the TV and the sound bar that your personal recommend it.

Fantastic picture esp when calibrated. The sound is actually quite good but will eventually hook it up to my surround sound. Upgraded from a Pionee Kuros Elite plasma and could not be more pleased. Maybe not the best value but a great TV - see worry a look especially now that the price has come down.

The Sony Oled 65 inch is an excellent choice for the top the line TV. The contrast and sharpness is excellent even with out the any calibration. The added price is worth it compared to the LED version. The sound quality with new screen speaker technology seems to work well even without a sound bar.

I am truly impressed with the picture quality of this TV. I waited for Sony's OLED and this has exceeded all of my expectations. I have watched 4k movies as well as streaming in 1080 and I am blown away by how sharp this picture is. The design is all picture and has a simple beauty to it. I thought the sound was going to be a gimmick at first, but it is actually perfect for my setup. I followed the advice of the associate and added a subwoofer which was more than enough to fill my room with sound and provide an impressive experience.

The only thing about this TV that really matters to me is the picture quality, and that is simply awesome! Yes, you are paying a premium price for the Sony name but, as far as I am concerned it is worth it. The smart TV features are, however, disappointing with poorly organized menus and lack of configurability - don't expect to be able to get rid of your Roku or Apple TV. One other minor irritation, the Sony remote control is awful with very low profile keys that have very poor tactile feell and, unforgivably on a high end TV costing as much as this one does, it still uses an infra-red link and the remote has to be pointed directly at the middle of the bottom edge of the screen for it to work. You will want to replace it with something better.

The Sony Oled tv is a great tv with a pretty good speaker system. It's so good that we are going to pass on a sound bar or surroud sound system for right now. The geek squad that did the installation was outstanding. It's pretty expensive though.

I've been a long time Sony TV owner and recently upgraded to the 65" A1E from my 2008 52" Bravia XBR, which has served me well over the last decade. The XBR picture quality still rivals many of today's mid-range LED/LCD panels, which is a testament to how well Sony future proofs their high end offerings. Sony providing an OLED option finally had me wanting to upgrade. I love this TV. I know the OLED screen is manufactured by LG and you can expect to get very similar picture quality with LG's OLED panels as well, but I've always enjoyed Sony's presentation and their picture processing is second to none. Obviously 4K/HDR content looks unbelievable, yet Sony's HD upscaling is impressive and breaths new life into my HD content library. I've paired mine with an Apple TV 4K and am overall very happy.

I am impressed with the picture quality, vibrancy of colors, and the sound. The television is in my family room and it’s the perfect size for the space. Given the quality of the sound, I didn’t need to purchase a sound bar.
